Amazing statue but best to view it from the highway instead. The rest of the park has nothing else to see. You have to pay 125k to get in, which then involves a shuttle bus and a very long walk. Maybe when the park is finished it will be worthwhile. We unfortunately wasted an entire afternoon.
A great place to visit if you like and want to know about Bali Culture. In this place you can take pictures with some statues and watch performances. They have different performance every hour. Starting from 10 am to 6 pm. For the last performance they will show kecak dance, one of most well-known Bali dance.
For local you have to pay IDR 80K for adult.
Enjoy your visit!
This place is great. Quite big so I recommend you to take a shuttle bus to take you to the main building. Then you may go by walk. Not only you may see sculptures of Wisnu or Garuda but also you may visit a theatre. Highly recommend this place
Such a beautiful cultural park. Amazing people behind it. Amazing place. You can find almost every cultural art here, music, dance, arts, name it!! And the place is awesome!!
I think I could spent a week here without feeling unhappy.
Sorry for putting so many photos here. It's a huge place!! And the Garuda park is a place for many concerts.
Still under contruction, nothing special to me but looks like locals love it.
after the construction of the statue was completed, this place was increasingly crowded with tourists. very beautiful cliff views, friendly for those with wheelchairs. There are reataurants and souvenir shops. Don't forget to wear a hat or umbrella and use a sunblock because it will be very hot during the day
Just a big statue, nothing more. You pay 125k for seeing a monument and that's it. Only when you get there is occurs that you need to pay 100k extra to go inside. You can hire a personal driver for whole day for those money and see half of the island.
a new experience, one of the biggest statue in Asia, even in the world...proud of it as an Indonesian
Good place for walk and watch a live show of Balinese traditional dance.. Sooo dont forget to bring some food, snacks, water and umbrella (because it's very hot there)
Good place to visit once but needs a lot of development in terms of facilities and things inside. Great way to showcase culture.
Very nice place but you need to pay haigh intarence to enter the big statu
This place is really cool because of the statue and so many music gigs too
very hot here, but its such an amazing place. make sure coming at GWK at dance performing times
It's just 18 dollars but when you go as a big family group its quite a lot for what it is. Hope they had a family price
A must visit especially if you like sightseeing. There's a free bus from the parking spots to the main entry place.
This site is still on developing progress, there's a annual international music festival in there called soundrenaline. You should stay update about soundrenaline
Very nice, ticket is for IDR 125k, worth going and spending your day and having food there. Place also some event and activities going during day and evening.
A very great views and a luxurious place for tourists
Nice calming place... But make sure prepare yourself to walk for long
Good place with a lot of stone statue, also have many attractive dance that can be see in here. The main dance is kecak dance. Must pay 80 k rupiah each person to see the dance and make sure waiting it until 18.30 cos only this time the dance will be perform.
I know just from outside area. Nice stop with motorbike having snack in the evening on market.
It is a vast area and very hot day for daylight tour. So come handy with the situation. You can enjoy show of different kinds of dancing in every hour, souvenir shop and museum. Restaurants are also available in this area. Ticket fee are 80k for adult. Golf buggy are ready to escort visitors to the big statue of Garuda Wisnu with additional cost, of course, 30k
Enjoying the dance performed there.. nice place to explore balinese culture
Garuda wisnu kencana are so beatiful area because in this area has a big statue of garuda wisnu kencana. This high till 100 meter i think
park with couple of big statues of god.not worth visiting
It's 125.000 idr for entrance fee. It's basically a big park that is still not done building. If you want to speed this money to walk around and not even see some cultural things that are left overs from the pasts generations then you should go. It's all being build new and doesn't look that lovely.
Amazing place to see huge tall structures crafted from one stone. They have a long guided pathway. A great place to click pictures.and you can see a pathway cut between two similar rocks. Imagine how beautiful it looks to see the sun rising from the moutains
While impressive from afar it was disappointing not being able to go inside or even close to the statue. The restaurant was ok. But as typical in Indonesia the food was cold or lukewarm.
Still building, fee entrance for local around 80k nice view good photo spot
Beautiful statues and a bit of the History, unfortunately it's another fee to go up at the Garuda statue. Do not rent the red scooter if you weight more than 50kgs, it's a waste of money you will have to get down and push. Besides that all good. Bring water if you buy it is a rip off.
It's an impressive structure and took nearly 30 years to complete; it can be seen from the main beaches and has great views from the statue; the surrounding area is carved out of limestone cliffs as its in a former quarry. However, its expensive considering you don't get to go up the statue unless you pay more, and the surrounding area is as filthy as most other tourist attractions in Bali.
Good place take your umbrella because of too hot, and water.
You have to visit this Bali's most iconic landmark. This GWK Cultural Park is beautiful with gigantic Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue, cultural show and many more.
nice place with beautiful view over denpasar. its a long long walk to the top. if your not that keen to talk a walk you can get a shuttle. you cannot actually go to the top of the statue.only allowed in the first floor.
Good view and God legend statue Visnu and Giant Bird Garuda....its amazing venue....world record statue...wait until its finished august 2018...enjoybthe moment....i see good restaurant and cafe there...and enjoy the balinese culture
The biggest monument I have ever seen in my life, and it is located in my own country!
By the time I step my foot on the airport, I can already see the Garuda Wisnu Kencana from that far.
The venues inside GWK area has restaurants, an amphiteather for dances and performances, a very big field which told to be music concert venues, and many more.
In short, this place is really a fusion of culture and art
In my own opinion, this cultural park is really cool! They have the biggest statue which is become the most wanted for tourist site. Apart of that, they have the cultural show which is the price already include with the entrance fees.
Tourist trap. The park is not finished and it doesn't look like they plan to finish it. You have to pay extra for every little thing. The statue is impressive but it's placed on an ugly looking building. No chance to take a good picture. Also all the good reviews here seem bought reviews. I don't recommend it.
Nice calm manicured place with giant statues of Garuda & Vishnu. GWK statue just completed.
But on the other hand it's sort of a tourist trap- expensive entrance fee at IDR125k.
Lots of photo spots.
Entrance ticket on site:
Adult Idr 125k (June 3rd, 2019)
Buy online via traveloka Idr 110k
The story of Garuda birth and deeds is told in the first book of the great epic Mahabharata. According to the epic, when Garuda first burst forth from his egg, he appeared as a raging inferno equal to the cosmic conflagration that consumes the world at the end of every age. Frightened, the gods begged him for mercy. Garuda, hearing their plea, reduced himself in size and energy.
Garuda s father was the creator-rishi Kasyapa. His mother was Vinata, whose sister was Kadru, the mother of serpents. One day, Vinata entered into and lost a foolish bet, as a result of which she became enslaved to her sister.
Mahabharata mentions about a bet between sisters and wives of Kashyapa, Vinata and Kadru, about the colour of Uchchaihshravas s tail. While Vinata, the mother of Garuda and Aruna, said it was white, Kadru said it was black. The loser would have to serve as a servant of the winner. Kadru told her sons, Naga ( serpent ), to cover the tail of the horse and thus make it appear as black in colour and thus, Kadru won.
- you can find the complete story at stone relief at GWK Street Theater. And you should come to this when you at Bali
- tickets around 75K-100K
Got to learn about the history of GWK and the people involved with it. Very inspiring. I felt lucky that I am still alive when it is finally done.
There's a tour inside where we can go up the statue and learn, and the system is pretty solid where we ride shuttle bus until the bottom of the statue. Very well organized.
Spent 3 hrs which flew very quickly. Needed to allow full half day minimum. Great family cultural park. Many facets to see. Some parts still under development. Would recommend as part of your holiday to do list.
A must visit place in Jimbaran area. Have a good view (they call it Instagram friendly).
This place is far from finished (as of 2016), you pay 100k a person (plus parking) to see pieces of a future 120m-tall monument. It all is basically a construction site, except for a comparatively small part which includes the amphitheater where traditional dance shows take place hourly. But of course all the samey souvenir shops and fast food places are up and running. On the plus side the dance show was interesting. You decide if this is a good value proposition.
Discover Bali s most iconic Landmark, take an Unforgettable Journey Through The Unique Themed Area Of GWK Cultural Park
Big statues park, top of the hill in south bali, good sea view, still need a lot of improvisations.
Nice and awesome place for relaxing, and there was a statue and will be the bigest statue in world
Must visit place in Bali. Many nice place for photo spot. Also have traditional dance performance in certain time.
Nice place to visit with your family. The tale was great story to tell to our children. The sunset was epic with wonderful balinese kecak performance.
Great ways to experience Bali culture, there a various show about it here . Unfortunetly is hard to find parking space here in a peak high season
nice place for having a lot of photos here. Coz, there are a lot of cultural statues here. I prefer at night, statues with their light is the best.
Amazing place, but when i was come here, there are some event. So i cannot access some place. So sad
It's beautiful place and unique.
Make your self ready for a lot of walking this the only issue .
Many coffee shops and restaurants you will find Starbucks .
GWK..such a beautiful place with a traditional bali culture.. good people.. nice place.. beautiful spot..
Just coming there you will see what others will not
GWK is a Great place with excellent carved sculptures of Garuda/Phoenix bird and Lord Vishnu/Wishnu... Bali visit is incomplete without visiting this place..
Great cultural park, but a bit tiring for elderly. A must visit for someone new to Bali.
Amazing place combination art, culture and technology art installation...
We can see very amazing scenery of Bali from the top
The admission price for the park does not include admission to go up the Garuda statue which is a additional 150k per person, which is more than the admission price.
They have e-scooter rentals inside the park but you would need to return them to the same point, which is a little redundant.
Amazing site. It was one of my favorite pleces in Bali.
A must visit place for foreigner and locaties to explore the beautiful lord vishnu and garud. Sculpture along with local cultural dance and ceremony..
If you enjoy manufactured tourist locations this is the place for you! Basically a large statue and gardens manufactured for the tourist industry with the guise of celebrating Bali heritage.
You'd be better off exploring the opposite end of the island and the temples there than spending the several hundred thousand idr that this place will cost.
Nice view but need spend too much money for only take a look only statue.
This cultural landmark is really good to be visited... The best time will be in the afternoon around 3 p.m. til dawn... Nice attractions..!!
Its still a work in progress but worth the visit. Also get the tour information before walking up there so you know when the tour times are. But they normally run every 30 mins. Up till 6pm.. cant do any tours after that time but the park is still opened. Also go watch the theatre show worth the time to sit and watch.
A park and the main attraction is the huge Wishnu statue that you can see from beaches around Kuta. They also have food trucks, bike rent, coffee shops and restaurants. The view from Jendela Bali restaurant is really nice. You can see the southern Bali from above but the food is not really good and the price is also too high compared with the taste.
Nice biggest and beautiful sculpture of Indonesia made by TATA projects and design by Bali designer.
A must-go place if you're in Bali. There're a giant Wisnu Statue, a theatrical dome, and the food's price was moderate
Great place to visit! Get into amphitheater, and watch traditional Balinese dances
There have a large area in natural environment. Recommended place for those who loves culture and heritage, not only Plaza Wisnu and Plaza Garuda , but there is also performance of traditional dancing in amphitheater (included in entrance fee). There is also GWK loop to bring visitors see the project of Garuda Wisnu Kencana building.
It is indeed one big statue that make us proud. I suggest you to make this either the last or first one of your itinerary since the real enjoyment is to read the whole history of the statue (which is amazing to me) and have your selfie on the glass floor on 23rd!.
Nice place - worth to see. Big monuments looks impresive.
It was Soundrenaline 2019 that brought me here. I've been several times visiting Bali, but it was my first time went to GWK when Soundrenaline 19 was held. And I should admit, this place is superb! What I worry a lot when I'm in a public space in Indonesia is the toilet. But here in GWK, the toilet is always clean. No wonder because there is cleaning staff who always standby to clean the toilet. Overall, this cultural park is also really cool. It truly represents Bali cultures in general.
It was quite nice place but try to go early in the morning or late evening..
Beautiful huge statue Garuda Wisnu Kencana, wonderful huge environment, love to walk far as worth it with the beauty, every evening also Balinese dance show and tourist also dance together and took pictures, evening they have Garuda theater dance on the yard that was awesome include the fire dance and end up with buffet dinner, also they have access to the huge statue and built the road going up, wonderful amazing creative statue with huge effort, love Bali!!8
There isn't much to do here except to see the majestic statuses .... Meh
