Great fun place, wouldn't say it's so good to try and get into the hobby. I have bouldered before, but only a couple times. It was my first time going here, taking a couple friends who had never been. And the bouldering wall is quite difficult for beginners! Especially for the not so athletic.. Still a great last minute fun option

Had a nine year old birthday party there this weekend and the staff was fantastic!!! They were patient with the kids and very helpful. They made the party fun and even managed to make it a competition, which the kids loved. Thanks again to an amazing staff and for making my son and his friends feel special. Max, Jack and Esia (sorry I know I spelled that wrong) you guys were GREAT!!!

Amazing place for getting your climb on. Your arms will burn it is a really great workout for your hands and forearms. There are all different types of walls with hand and foot placements in various difficulties from novice to expert. Bring your friends challenge each other see who is the better climber and brag about it afterwards. The instructor Ben was great very patient with my 6 year old and was very nice and explained things out well. Would definitely recommend this place. Overall great place to go if weather is bad and you wanna push yourself to new heights.

Don t waste your time or money. 20 min sign in process including 2 separate waivers that you have to complete in your own device. Routes are monochrome but also labeled with tape making them extremely confusing to read or follow. I m not sure where they got the holds but a large majority are glass and should have been replaced years ago making climbing even more dangerous than typical.

This is one of my favorite places to go during the week I met a lot of people and is just an amazing place to be. It is a very kid friendly space and is great for party s. The problems change constantly and is not busy most of the time. The instructors are very kind and helpful. Despite what other people say it is a amazing place to make friends and get stronger. They provide rental shoes and harnesses. It is also a very good place for beginner climbers. So I recommend you giving this place a look

Awesome place. Was worried it would be a little intimidating, but the staff was ridiculously helpful, relaxed, and knowledgeable, and overall my experience was fantastic. I had a blast, despite never bouldering before in my life!

Just went last night for the first time and I was primarily concerned that the place would be too small as many other people have mentioned, it is a bit small but the variety of bouldering and top roping routes really make up for it. I went bouldering and everything I mention is geared towards that. Downstairs they have in the center a bouldering wall packed of great climbs, and upstairs they have a small area with a whole bunch of climbs. The problems are great but the areas can get a bit tight and hot especially upstairs. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I heard people mention that some holds were broken or worn down - I haven't noticed any issues like that. Overall was a great experience and I'm definitely going to go back.

Garden State Rocks has been my second home for six years now. Climbing here has been one of the best decisions I've ever made. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful and the community holds some of my favorite people in the entire world. It's a great place to go at the end of a stressful day to get a workout in and be surrounded by the most supportive community of climbers you'll every meet. This is my happy place and we all strive to have everyone feel comfortable and welcome when they come to climb. Nothing but love for GSR <3

Some of the staff was really nice and helpful while others were not as helpful. I ve been to several rock gyms and this one really didn t have a lot of space and people were often climbing right next to or I top of you and it didn t feel as safe. At one point an instructor backed up more than once to the person belaying me. Had he knocked her over it would have not have been good. If you go during a low volume time and your one of the few there it s a nice gym and fine but when it gets crowded it doesn t feel as safe.

A small gym but they make up for it in quality routes. With some gyms I ve been to it s about height of their walls adding difficulty. Here you can tell there is more Technical finesse versus height/distance endurance.

Relatively a small space, but the staff and regular climbers are friendly. It's good for what you need if you're just looking to work on your climbing skills. The BEST part about this place is their Ladies Night and Monday BOGO deals. Their Ladies Night deal has kept me going back every week for two years already.

Fun but the employee's seem quite touchy when it comes to many different things there, such as simply walking on or around the mats when even no one else is climbing. I don't quite understand why I was yelled at at some points especially when I just wanted to climb...probably won't return.

I did not realize how fun this can be for a birthday party. The kids had an absolute blast. They have multiple trainers here so that the kids are not waiting more than 10 minutes before their next turn. This is a great workout for kids. The staff are extremely friendly extremely helpful.

Their classes are quite reasonable especially if you're combining two or three kids together in a single private lesson. for a single kid it is $45 for an hour for 2 kids it is $50 for an hour for 3 kids it then becomes $21 per kid per hour.

Their grading seems a bit more challenging than usual, but that's good! The holds are a bit worn down/dirty though. No auto-belay, but their routes are still interesting. Pretty small gym, but glad they're around.

Usually friendly staff, a bit smaller and can get crowded, sometimes staff members crowd you'd climbing space to enforce "rules".
Fun paths/courses but some I have run into a few broken pieces before.
