A series of exclusive works. Not just for those who like modern art.
After visiting the Pompidou in Paris, I say that you absolutely must not miss the opportunity to visit it. Because the quality of the works present is, in my humble opinion, incredibly superior to those exhibited in the Parisian center.
A place that offers many food for thought, also suitable for those with a lack of modern art
Not a fan of modern art but they have some fine sculptures and paintings here.
Great gallery, excellent and suitable building, magnificent aesthetic on how the paintings, installations should be set.Kind and helpful personnel.
Excellent dinner on the occasion of an "feminine" award, served in one of the beautiful halls of the Gallery, in an elegant and refined atmosphere, which the background music performed by an excellent quartet (in the photos) and the impeccable service contributed to make it memorable. Of great value the final open bar, set up with the Casa Minimo distillates.
Among the most interesting museums of the entire Roman panorama. The biscuits are also good.
It is good to enjoy a leisurely work of art when traveling to Rome. I had to get rid of the water bottle inside, but it is hard to find such a relaxed and modern place in Rome.
Spaces give the possibility to the works to express their purest value in every corner breathes beauty, charm and culture
Wonderful visit.
Friendly staff
Place where you can look at and admire the work of art, or not, but always without awe. Cozy ... place to live
Large spaces of exhibition, wonderful works ... to see
Spaciousness and tranquility and of course works on display
Absolutely great museum! Love the way the old mix with the new art everywhere. Thnx for the wonderful 5 hours of exhibition
Fascinating and stimulating. Without a guided tour, however, it really loses a lot.
Beautiful! Wonderful works of the most important artists! Huge spaces, you walk a lot. It is not very comfortable to reach on foot.
huge rooms. Excellent usability of the works. ability to take pictures
I do not understand him. But interesting. On Sunday for free, I wouldn t go for money.
It's a wonderful museum: you have to visit it absolutely!
Beautiful experience to be done calmly to enjoy all the emotions that the individual works give off. Excellent Covid management.
It goes without saying that the permanent collection of GNAM is absolutely unique and deserves (at least) a visit. The new "layout" of the entrance is perhaps a bit uncomfortable. I agree with those who wrote that the map is absolutely useless and badly conceived, which does not make the visit easy. As for the staff, it depends on the days, I've been there twice in the last three months and let's say we could do better. Fortunately, the selection of the works is such that these small flaws are forgotten. The rooms are very large and allow you to enjoy the works in great tranquility, the ticket price is fair ( 10). The building itself is beautiful and impressive, the work of Cesare Bazzani. I recommend, if possible, to prepare the visit in advance (there is a lot of information on the internet) and also a nice walk in Villa Borghese before or after the visit to the Gallery.
It is a magical place where you are immersed in the beautiful !!!
It remains one of my favorite museums, especially after the reorganization of a few years ago. The services (cafeteria, bookshop etc) are not yet international standards but the proximity to Villa Borghese compensates for any limitations.
The reorganization of the collections denotes a refined curatorial hand.
It is a place that I attend at least 4 times a year. It is always worth the visit.
Not the greatest fan of modern art but loved the most of it. Didn't like the fact that it was not very "visitor friendly". Complicated rooms and no coordinations like where to start, etc... And I didn't like the fact that the exhibits had the name of the art and the artist only in Italian and not even in English. Not the full topic or the story, just the name of the art at least..
Setting never banal .. Works of art from centuries ago together following sensory correspondences
Beautiful gallery, along with works that I will never understand (perhaps not even the authors), grandiose works, including klimt, Monet and De Nittis, beautiful statues. Restaurant attached. We can not neglect it
A pity that there are no chairs to sit in every now and then ...
Just before the entrance to the exhibits there's a wonderful little study space with outlets and everything, available for use without a museum ticket! I found the exhibits very interesting, and we had a tour guide from the museum and she was excellent. Unless you are an art aficionado, I would reccomend taking a guided tour. You will definitely get more out of it!
Shameful the new installation .... they ruined a wonderful museum
This gallery deserves more publicity even if it would ruin my dream: to be able to enjoy the beauty of the works on display as long as I want. It is full of appreciable works capable of alienating you from physical life and projecting you into fantastic metaphysics.
From the entrance it is identified as something exceptional. Many artists present such as De Chirico Rodin. The National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art houses the most complete collection dedicated to Italian and foreign art between the 19th and 21st centuries. Among paintings, drawings, sculptures and installations, the almost 20,000 works in the collection are an expression of the main artistic currents of the last two centuries
Beautiful works. The first Sunday of the month is an excellent opportunity to visit for free.
Very eclectic place, offering a permanent collection as well as temporary exhibitions. I like the way the works are presented: Mirror of many eras and styles. The works are of variable quality but the museum deserves a visit. The price of the ticket is very reasonable and the visit is very pleasant.
Really a wonderful museum with a terriffic collection amazingly and cleverly assembled.
Any art lover will love it and
I also found it refreshing after seeing so much classical art in rome
The lions on the stairs of the eneterance are alone worth the visit but there is much more inside.
Very nice, very well made, a must visiting when in Rome...
Very nice, interisting and enjoyable place. Could be improved adding more informations and structuring the visit, but it s already very good value as it is
The collection is a bit vague and the space composition is very inefficient, but it would not be bad to go after the park walk to the Borghese Museum of Art. It's good to have a tram nearby, but it's never a good time to eat, so it's recommended to eat it near the Borghese Museum.
Enchanting! A place to spend excellent time immersed in art
The Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea ("national gallery of modern and contemporary art"), also known as La Galleria Nazionale, is an art gallery in Rome, Italy. It was founded in 1883 on the initiative of the then Minister Guido Baccelli and is dedicated to modern and contemporary art.
A world class art gallery. You must go if you like modern art.
A beautiful gallery with permanent works of great artists with the addition of temporary installations always interesting!
Always beautiful. Too bad too much contemporary art and less and less 19th century art, of which I am very passionate .....
Beautiful place for an art lover. The ticket is 10 euro, you can spend considerable amount of time here. There is a cafe in side the gallery
I have loved this gallery since I was a teenager: an extraordinary place made by its legendary director (up to 75) Palma Bucarelli who made it a huge museum. Now he seems to have been intimidated in showing the richness of his collection, with paths made stingy and questionable.
I liked the museum. I think my expectations were too high.
It is worth it for both tourists and children. Riccardi events x all ages
What I enjoyed most during the visit to Rome
The location of the Gallery is great, away from the bustle of the city
The collection quite varied, I liked it
If you go early you can make the visit practically alone
What a beautiful building and great art very well presented. Love it
Equipped and functional spaces. Courteous staff. The exhibition is dynamic and never the same every time you return.
historical place for art in Rome, with the work of the new curator she is experimenting with new approaches to art presentation, more holistic and thematic and less historical.
Visited for an exhibition very interesting to you (beautiful works by Gregorio Botta among glass, wax, water and alabaster), the gallery made me a strange non-negative impression. Abandoned the traditional ceonological exhibition or for artistic currents, the rooms appear large and airy, the works, selected for their absolute value, are an extraordinary overview between the Italian and international nineteenth and twentieth centuries. A museum of European importance, but the loss of contextual and didactic type apparatus difficult to understand in the relationship and between the works on their insertion in history by the artist and more generally in art. Yet thanks to augmented reality technologies, these devices could be supplied without breaking the idea of a fascinating journey through masterpieces dictated above all by the director's taste.
Gorgeous! Both for the art lover and for a working breakfast (and not)
Go there ... what do you want me to explain? It is a ..... that is our National Gallery of Modern Art in ROME Caput Mundi. Managed by a manageress with .......! And a staff .... just the same !!
Very nice and large exhibition space, with a permanent collection that deserves an in-depth visit. Too bad the path is unclear ... you get lost in the various rooms.
Excellent place for lunch. Quality of the food is good and the service is what you expect from a restaurant like this. Not too many tables, so at rush hour you can still have a decent conversation with your friend, family or co-workers.
Amazing!!! I love this place. For modern art lovers is heaven.
Only for the masterpieces it contains should I put six stars ... unfortunately the exhibition does not adequately enhance all the works of art present, disorienting the visitor who has difficulty finding the captions, finds treasures not properly illuminated and can not organize the visit in the immense spaces. It costs too little compared to what it contains. I recommend doing all the top floor first, with the permanent collections and then the ground floor
Beautiful building and specially the sculptures of lions in the entrance
National gallery recently changed their permanent exhibition and entitled it Time is out of joint with a great curatorial approach to combine artworks from different eras to correspond to similar (art and also living) themes. Nicely designed spaces with a lot of important classics, modern and contemporary artists included.
