This school is an OK school. I am thankful for staff like Dean Jackson and Ms. Muhammad. It has always been one of my goals to run for class president and I was able to accomplish that goal two years in a row at this school. Even more, I ran track for the first time and received a third place medal in the state championship. There is a lot of opportunity here and I am taking advantage. Like most of my peers would say, the down side about this school is the fact that there aren't any girls. I can say that I have made a name for my self here at Fulton Leadership Academy. This year I plan to get all As and score high enough on the SAT to receive a full ride scholarship to Harvard University.

I have been incredibly pleased with my experience at FLA. I consider it a privilege to be able to send my son to an all male charter school within my community. This is actually one of the best kept secrets in our community. They truly care about the scholars academic & emotional well being. The leadership & staff are engaged in the overall success of the scholars. They solicit, expect & appreciate parent engagement/involvement. This is clearly a joint venture between, staff, parents, scholars and community. I HAVE NOT experienced any of the horror stories relayed in some of the earlier comments. My only regret is that we did not leverage this option earlier.

My child is doing well at Fulton Leadership Academy. The school is going through some growing pains with relocating to a newer and larger campus. There are more students there than before and there will be an adjustment period. As a parent I love the sense of pride my son has about his work and his appearance. I have done extensive volunteering and can tell you first hand that the staff there is patient and dedicated to the children. As a volunteer I have stopped by and corrected etiquette, dress and other things... Often that little bit of help assist with the young men. You will have to invest some of your time to make the neighborhood schools better. Each day of the week last year there were tutoring sessions for subject where the kids could attend for extra assistance on the classroom materials. On the change of pace days he joined the to Robotics and Drone (UAV) team. Kids are balanced and have great options for interest other than just sports. Another positive is you can meet with the school board members that can be sometime seen walking the halls. There are differences from many of the popular private schools in the area. There is a tad bit of rowdiness with young boys in schools that you might not have at a paid educational institution that does not have open enrollment. Not for everyone. Just see it for yourself and form your own opinion.

This school is terrible. They are disorganized, the education here isn't "top-notch" as they claim it to be, and the school's lunch is despicable. The staff has no fun activities planned out for their students throughout the year, and the rowdiness of the hallways can't be contained by the poor, lowly skilled teachers and faculty. The principal's vision doesn't make sense, and does not line up with the work effort put in by the teachers. I would give this a school a 2 on a scale of 1-10. Don't send your son to this school, and if your child is already there, take them out immediately.

Please do not take your child to this school. This school is setting young men up to fail especially in the High School Area. The administration is terrible for this to be an all black school charter school it's horrrible asking 200 for fees for summer school. Teacher leaving left and right and no parents are informed buts kids failing and or they passing them along if they like you. Oh I have email to back up everything I'm saying. Please consider another school. I am getting the school investigated. Do not let me start on the administration borrowing money and using debit cards for other reasons. Disgusted in this school.

Parents please don't bring you're child here. This school says there going to do things then don't actually do them. This is an example 1 year ago at the FLA open house they talked about how no phones well be allowed under ANY CIRCUMSTANCE, today you well see a handful of students with their phones out playing provocative music on their speakers cursing and screaming. But don't get me wrong their are awesome teachers and staff sometimes.

This is my scholar's second year attending middle school at FLA. The mission of the school is what piqued my interest. There are some challenges that I would imagine most schools face however the new administration is open and willing to partner with parents and scholars in creating the school we wish to see. For this I am most proud. Charter schools tend to offer more flexibility with instituting new ideas. I am happy to be a parent in the trenches molding the school to be a great stable in the southwest community and to generations to come. We are well on our way with this leadership team.

If I could have given this school a 0 then i would have. This school isn't as good as it is advertised to be. Behind closed doors no one parent really knows the effect that the constant pressure of holding yourself to their "core values" and expectations does to my fellow peers. Also, while attending the school i noticed that the more manner-able students altered their behaviors and personalities to "fit in" with the kids who were always in trouble or who were not as successful in school. I wouldn't recommend sending your young man to this school. You will regret it. ON GOD. #NOCAP

Really regretting this decision. I have been trying to get an issue resolved for a schedule mishap that is causing my son to FAIL and I have not received a response since school started. I feel neglected as a parent so obviously he is being neglected as a student. I need answers NOW. I understand the pandemic and in the beginning it was, "we are all in this together" yet I feel like we are on our own island. I am VERY disappointed. If my child fails because the lack of communication between teachers, staff, and parents you are doing a disservice to children and truly not helping them. I wish I would have read these reviews before I signed him up.
