Not as cheesy as it first appears: Thurs nite jazz and a warm atmosphere. A favourite of university students and boho couples.
It was good food but expensive and not much... 3 sandwiches for $56 and not very warm. The waitress left our food on the counter while she waited for a customer to pay. Two of the waitresses had long loose hair. One was continually flinging it back with her hand. Place looked clean and the renovations were eco friendly.
Absolutely amazing! Great group of staff very friendly and attentative. Went in for lunch today and the place was buzzing with great energy. Food was delish and everything made in house or purchased locally. So glad to see it open again. Definatley going to be my lunch spot from now on! They did a great job of renovating the place. Keep up the great work!! Can't wait to see what the night life brings!!
Portion sizes are a bit small but are perfect for lunch. Always good quality cheeses here that you can't find often.
I've wanted to eat here because I've heard great things but i can't go during the work week and the weekend hours are terrible. I can't fathom being closed at 4pm on a Saturday (before dinner time) and not being open at all on Sunday.
Beautiful atmosphere, amazing service, great vibes, diverse selection of drinks , great menu.
Just moved back and my sis really wanted to try this place out. We knew it was slightly out of our price range but we're willing to spend money for a good night. We called and confirmed that there would be music ahead of time. We were told yes and showed up but no music. We also waited an hour and a half for a cheese and meat board (young girl, half shaved head=terrible.) We're told that there was cured meats but it was mortadella( Italian bologna) certainly not worth the extra $$. Pretty disappointing.
We called and they gave us a reservation and said it was no problem for us to come for 19:25. When we got there we still had to wait in line in order to talk to someone about our reservation and get seated. They seated us 15 min after our reservation time, which we could ve overlooked because we understand it s difficult to go out to eat during the pandemic. Once they seated us inside, where things were barely 2 meters apart, they gave us menus and then left us sitting there for 40 mins! No one came by to offer us a drink or explain or apologize, we were simply ignored for 40mins. During that time they served another table that was seated 2 tables after us. We finally had enough at 20:20 so we got up and left, the servers saw and again no one did anything. Awful experience, would not recommend unless you want to be ignored for 40 mins.
Love the atmosphere, love the food and service was great!
Was amazing. Nice stop on a cold damp day. Will be back.
Love the look of this place, can't go wrong with cheese and wine!! And the red pepper jelly is to die for!!!
Amazing best food I've had in a long time an not to exspesive
Ambiance ambiance ambiance!!!!! Flight of wine is genius. Always feel like im a friend when I walk inn.
We went over the lunch hour - it was busy and we were in a tight schedule. Food and service were fast, and wonderfully presented and fantastic. We will be back!
Cheesy paradise, great selection of cheese and a small menu with really good sandwiches. Where they really hit it out of the parking is catering and events. Apps are always stellar and plentiful.
Great food, people and atmosphere. If you re looking for a healthier, homemade meal this is definitely the place to go!
Quiet, intimate atmosphere with mouthwatering appetizers, mains and comprehensive beer and spirits menu!!
Buddha bowl was gross and mushy so was the ramen. Both were flavorless and the prices were way too high. Paid 14 $ for 6 shrimp appetizer in garlic butter. Absolutely ridiculous.
Pricey drinks and slow pay/tab management, but a nice place to go. Has very fun trivia and live music. The cheese is also very good.
Would of gave the restaurant 5 stars due to the great atmosphere and tasty selection of cheeses but left with a bad taste in our mouth when business would not honour our gift certificate to that restaurant because it was from an old owner. Was going to go back again for sure but after that experience probably not now.
Great place for lunch. Not much on menu, but makes up for it with quality of the food.
Fantastic atmosphere and food. A little pricey though so I save it for treat days.
Hugh jazz every Wed is a really nice treat mid week to eat get out and chit chat with friends.
...every time I visit Downtown Sudbury this is the one place I don't hesitate to drop by. Wonderful staff and dining/drink options...
Very tasty reuban. But it's not as good as it was before. I can't put my finger on it, but nevertheless it's still a really good eat. Their menu is a bit on the small side however.
We had lots of fun, if you like Jazz and an easy going atmosphere this is the place to go, the only down point of this restaurant is very limited menu.
Ah bien non, la 'nouvelle' fromagerie definitely disappointed. I appreciate that cheese is expensive and delicious but not THAT pricey. This is Sudbury not Toronto! The cheese is still good, but the meat appeared to be nothing but standard grocery store fare, and very little of it. Accompanying our return to the Fromo was a modest expectation that we would continue to enjoy a lovely cheese plate for a reasonable price. Much to our disappointment, we paid more and received less. Basically we ordered a cheese and meat plate pour deux 2 and basically received 100 grams of cheese and 5 minuscule bits of meat for $21.98. The plate for 2 did not even compare with the 'old' cheese plate for 1. And you can say 'aurevoir' or goodbye to the days of sliced authentic baguette in a basket, as the bread was cheap, crust like and not fresh. The service was also not very warm. Sometimes success comes with a cost. I truly hope that the staff - management & owners will rectify this and not let other customers experience a cheese taste test on a regular basis.
Not for coffee lovers! Absolutely the worst coffee (cappuccino) I have ever had the misfortune of sampling. Looked like a small cup of brown dishwater with soap suds and and a bit of brown sugar sprinkled on top. It tasted even worse, salty probably from having used a too-salty almond milk and no evidence of any expresso - completely undrinkable and frankly insulting. I returned it and our server looked surprised that I wasn't happy with it and assured me there was an expresso in there (she later claimed there was a problem with the machine). Just the fact that it was served to me in that condition and appearance shows they have no clue about coffee and should not be charging $4 for it. Two stars because at least my companion's hot chocolate was to her liking, service was otherwise cordial and the place looks nice. Please take your staff to any cafe to show them what a capuccino should look and taste like.
