Absolutely great atmosphere. Very clean and relaxing. The coffee is great.

It was really good food and the restaurant is very nice on the inside. Service was alittle slow probably because there was only one server during the dinner rush but it was all a very good dinner and night

Service is often slow - you cannot be in a hurry or really hungry if you go there. Even with planned event, they never seem to be quite 'ready'. Sandwiches, cheese trays, soups are always excellent!

A great spot for a sandwich in a very relaxing atmosphere. Not for folks who are in a rush. R-e-l-a-x. They totally get Justy time here :)

Went for a comedy night and the place was packed. Had their dinner special.. a really cheesy chicken Alfredo pasta.

What an truly unique experience with great food, sips, and staff! We visited for a lunch charcuterie and fishbowl Friday and enjoyed it so much, we stayed a wee bit longer and indulged in Mason Jar desserts and cafe Lattes. If I lived closer I would visit every day at this hipster delish must eat location.

Tonight, after doing some shopping in the west end, my daughter recommended that we try out the Fromo. This rustic little spot in the downtown serves up all things cheese. And who doesn t love cheese!?!?

The ladies started off enjoying a cranberry and pear sangria to share, served in a French press, which we all thought was kind cool.

Our food order tonight included the baked garlic shrimp, baked Mac and cheese and the grilly of the day (photos attached).

First off let me just say that from where we were sitting we could smell the garlic shrimp being baked, and the smell of that baking cheese was oh so heavenly! The taste was equally on the same level... so delish! My mac and cheese was hot, cheesy, creamy, rich and so flavourful... perfect combination for this cool late summer evening. Both my daughter and wife raved similarly about their meals too. If they tasted as fantastic as they looked then I m sure they were awesome. My wife also loved her bread pudding for dessert.

My only negative experience here on this night was finding a few odd things floating in my glass of ice water. I m not really sure how they got there, but the waiter quickly replaced my glass when asked. (This review would have been 5 star otherwise)

If you haven t yet, you gotta stop by and give them a try! You won t be disappointed.

We heard good things about this place but were very dissapointed with our visit.

We both ordered the grilled vegetarian sandwiches w/ French onion soup upgrade. Both sandwich crusts were burnt, and the croutons in both soups were burnt so badly they were completely black on one side. Instead of taking a minute to re-toast a couple slices and replace them, they were strategically placed burnt side down in both soups in hopes that we wouldn't notice.

I don't care if this was a one time incident, the point here is that this shows a lack of attention to detail and pride in what they serve.

This place has been good to me everytime I've gone good service, food and coffee and quick staff that prepared food in a timely manner. Unfortunately had to go back to work but they offer you to try cheese before buying it! It is a bit pricey but good for a treat. (Update: I have come back to the fromagerie and consistent great experience! Updated to 5 stars in my books)

We just had a fun girls night there, listening to music, and sampling their cheese tray and wine. The service was amazing and very helpful. It is a small venue, so when there is good live entertainment, get there early :)

Idk anywhere that has better food or service this place has everything you need in one place. Weither it be for grocery or a sit down meal. This place is worth every cent!!!

Service was slow but there was a computer issue. Staff is friendly food was good but we found the portions rather small for the price. We will go back but we will order cheese by the ounce.

The new owner has really cleaned up this venue. Gone are the filthy floors, the tables have been arranged in a much more appropriate layout, surfaces and now cleaned. Not yet licenced to serve alcohol but will cater for closed functions and events under single event alcohol licences.

Venue is very nice. Staff are very attentive.

Ramen bowl was served hot with lots of veggies. Sauce was tastey. However, the noodles were overcooked and mushy.

Thai peanut salad was big. Lots of veggies. Tons of cabbage. Tiny amount of mango. Shrimp added was $6 for 5 pieces. Would have been nice to have a tofu option. Was only offered chicken. If I had to get this again, I would get chicken instead. Salad cost $20 after all additions.

Sandwich was a bit mushy with a lot of fig jam and pears. It was overly sweet. Onion soup was not rich. It was quite bland. Skip this.

Stuffed pepper is a skip. The pepper was so small. The smallest that can be found at the grocery store. The serving would have been more appropriate double to triple. Totally not worth the $15. Would have been nice to have someone to go along with the pepper. It was served as is. It did tastr ok. Value wise, this is a skip, unless you wanna leave hungry.

Cheese board was delicious. Lots of choices. Lots of antipasto selection. Meats were yummy too.

Caeser was good. Would get again.

We held our wedding reception here on September 29th, 2019 and it was absolutely perfect. The venue is beautiful, central, and modern. Perfect for an intimate wedding - we hosted 70 people. We have received many compliments on the food and staff. The manager Valerie particularly needs to be mentioned as she made the entire experience excellent and constantly checked in throughout the night even making my wife a plate of food as she was busy greeting family members and friends. Looking forward to dining here for years to come.

Great place with guest singers and their sandwiches a real treat. Plus, glass of wine with very affordable cheese plate.

I'm not sure you'll find nicer people with cheese really.

Second to none! Had a wonderful lunch today: grilled cheese with prosciutto and probably the best French onion soup I've ever had!

Just a spectacular selection of cheese.. you will remember this place long after your visit. That combined with great staff...makes this place perfect.

Obviously, by the name, they sell cheese. The menu looks okay. I just don't like that when you order a charcuterie board, you can't choose the types of cheese or meats you get. Also, if you order a flight of wine, it's the bartender's choice. Most places I've been to before, offer flights from certain regions, or flights that are paired with your food order. For me, it was okay, but I don't think I'd go there again if it was my choice.

The food was good but we ordered a cheese plate and it took about half an hour to get to our table. The prices weren't the best value for your money we ordered the shared cheese plate and it was nothing compared to the previous version of the fromo. We ended up paying 52 bucks for a cheese plate, two soups and a salad...

Very nice, clean and rustic atmosphere. Backround music was good and not annoying or too loud. Service- quick, but thats because we gone just before lunch hour. Food- very delicious. I had by far an amazing home made French Onion soup that nice nice bold flavor and perfect amount of bread, cheese and onion ratio and the bowl was deciving... It held alot of soup (in a good way)! Definately satisfied. I was full from the soup but I could not say no to the cheese cake. I did expect a NYC style cheese cake but this one came in a delightful mini jar and was really light and creamy. I was full. My husband had a grilled sandwhich, he said is was really good, his portion was a bit small and said it was really good he would ate three of them. Overal after eating we felt light, and not need Joey's thanksgiving pants. Price- you pay for quality not quantity (unless you get that soup, you'll be satisfied on both spectrums then). Server- We liked how she mentions it focuses on purchasing food locally and the dishes are home made. We deffinately enjoyed that it is not a chain restaurant, it's in a good location with lots of parking options as well a patio to eat outside. Deffinately will return and recommend it. And for parents- there is a change table in the bathroom. And it is wheel chair accessable.

Very nice place, the atmosphere is incredibe. It's got this nice aged look to the place, great coffee even better cheese. You can try the cheese there get a slice of the cheeses you like or get a cheese tasting plate from their menu. This place is nice if you just want to grab a quick coffee and if you're hungry grab a bite. I definitely recommend this place if you're in the area

I ate there today with a friend and it was a great experience! We loved the service, vibe, and cheese/meat selection! I saw a stage and would love an email when there's live music AND/OR when you start serving wine!!!!!

Foods a little pricey but always worth it. Everyone is always so nice and the crowd and employees are always a good time!

On 2019.09.29 we held our wedding reception at La Fromagerie and it was perfect! The food was amazing - their catering menu is excellent highly recommend it for any event. The timing on everything was perfect, amazing staff who kept everyone's drinks filled and served hot food. This is key to any event and can't be overlooked. Valerie was sooo helpful and great - consistently checked in. I am forever grateful and glad that we picked this beautiful local venue.

I've had the pleasure of going to La Fromagerie several times and everytime I've gone I've had excellent service and even better food options
If you haven't been, I highly reccomend trying it out! You definitely wont be disappointed! It's a gouda choice

Waited 15 minutes without any acknowledgement. as they sat another couple to a seat we left without any apology from the staff. Food/drinks might be good but service needs refinement; place was not full.

Not a lot of beverages, and no wine, which is too bad for a cheese restaurant. Sharing plate was ok for a light snack, they almost need a bigger size for sharing as your meal.

My daughter brought a cheese platter home yesterday. We had a feast. All was good. The only problem is that we loved some of the cheeses but we re not sure what they are. It would be great if they were listed with the packaging so we can get more.

First time at the Fromagerie for me and the wife and we will for sure be returning! Simple food done really well. We love to support local and love that we found a gem in our own city!

Good atmosphere, with a bit of a hipster vibe. We started with splitting the charcuterie board which was good, although people sat after us received theirs before us, and then when it came it had no meat, to which they promptly corrected; by throwing some on top. need more Genoa capicolla and rolled meats varieties to finish it off imo. It also comes with sliced baguette some crunchy some soft some white some whole wheat with no option and 2 crackers. The fruit was a nice touch but overall for what is there it is overpriced. (I did enjoy the little flag signs for the cheeses). We also split the ramen noodle bowl to which I have zero complaints it was delicious.(although we had ordered the ramen bowl and the hearty quinoa bowl, they also messed up this order, but we chose not to wait for it and I'm kind of glad was quite full regardless). For drinks I decided to try the old fashioned specialized on their menu and the wife had a flight of wine samplers. Old fashioned was good although an unusual color unsure if bitters were used.., wine flight we enjoyed but had to guess what we were drinking as the wines brought out were not explained until we asked about it (also no descriptions on the menu about flavor profiles, nor are you allowed to choose which wines you get. ) live entertainment started at about 8pm and was nice to add to the atmosphere although had a country artist which was not to my liking, but also didn't go with the atmosphere at all.

It's a great space with a nice layout, just kinda lacks a bit of character. The cheese cone I got was a little disappointing. Most these cheeses I got we're very similar and the charcuterie meats were very generic, almost seemed like they were bought from the grocery store. I was hoping for some in-house pickling or an interesting kind of mustard. The red pepper jam wasn't good. There is potential though...

Such a clean, airy, beautiful space. My cheese platter was delicious and they provided me with gluten free crackers!! Yay!

Always feel that I pay too much for my meal. Add to this feeling that the restaurant is now closed. This may prove my first impression.

The Fromo is pretty awesome. Sure the food is yummy and the cheese is delicious, but my favourite thing is the odor when you walk through the door: herbs and spices and butter and bread and cheese... Damn, mouth watering. Plus, the atmosphere is pleasant and rustic. Very comfortable. Oh, and they have booze and a patio

Very good experience, we took the special cheese/charcuterie sampler with a wine sampler.. for 38$ + 13$ and it was a lot of food. Our waitress was very nice and the place is cozy. Having a French background and the restaurant having a French name, I would ve liked a couple French cheeses
on the plate, But the cheeses we had were also very good.

I love this place. The atmosphere is very European as is the food choices. it is also one of the best places in town to buy cheese

Promising venue but still with a lot of rough edges

Poor attention to detail. I asked for no olives and received a heap full of them. Asked for NO blue cheese and got that, too! If you want good food and service go elsewhere. Bad customer service has negative side effects...

One of my favourite restaurants in Sudbury! A light, airy and welcoming space with a varied and delicious selection of cheese and meat boards, complimented with a well stocked bar. Friendly and welcoming staff talk you through your selections and take great care of you. A must-visit on every trip.

Nice, big, wooden slab tables with the work of local artists affirming the walls. High quality espresso, as well as a good selection of quality beer and wine. And since the ownership changed hands a number of years ago, really friendly service. This is a great place to book for an event, or to just drop in for a date.

Oh yes, they also offer the best cheese in town, with a wide range from Quebec. Applewood smoked cheddar if you're into that sort of thing, or many kinds of Bries and chevres if that's more your style.

I had heard good things, and needed some baskets of goodies done up for work, they more than delivered, and they make delicious cookies too! Definitely going to be a repeat customer, looking forward to trying some cheese and trivia too!
