Yes, we went on a Friday and it was the first Friday of Lent, but we don't feel that it was an excuse for the poor service we received. People that came in 5 or 10 minutes after we did and ordered after we did, got their food before we did. Our waitress never updated us on when our food was coming either. My fish was good, but my husbands burger was overcooked, fries were not good at all and my son wanted mac and cheese which was kraft mac and cheese, which was $6.00. It took over an hour for us to get our food and we ordered chicken tenders for our daughter and the waitress never wrote it down so she didn't get them. I don't think that we will try this place again.

For your small town neighborhood bar, perfect. Food is always good. Service friendly and attentive. (Only one server will get things wrong). Love going there to relax and enjoy good home style cooking.

Great salad bar and homemade soup. A cook your own steak night, Friday fish fry, Wednesday buffet, etc, etc.

Went here with a friend for the 1st time. We had the fried chicken dinner. It was fantastic! It came with a salad, soup, I had potato soup, Cole slaw, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, and 4 pieces of fried chicken all for about $11. A lot of food and all good. Will definitely be going back!

Great buffet tonight featuring fried chicken. Comes with a salad bar. Only problem: hard to get around with a walker for handicapped person, tables are close together.

Wednesday night is all you can eat chicken/buffet for less than 10 bucks. The chicken is excellent and so is the homemade soup.

One of the best burgers around, friendly staff, and large portion sizes. You won't go home hungry.

We got lunch here on a weekend. We were visiting from out of town an yelp reviews were good. It looked like a hole in the wall bar, which I good with. But I had 3 kiddos with me. For lunch, they could not have been more accomodating and helpful.

The food was great too. Burgers were home made awesomeness. Friendly, fast, and courteous service. I'll eat there every time I am in the area.

Grill your own steak (or chicken breast or pork chop) on Tuesday nights. 19oz rib eye with nice little salad bar, boiled potatoes, mushrooms, etc., reasonable drinks can't beat it for simple good food with friends.

Salad bar is great! Scallops were undercooked and swimming in butter. I thought I was getting a sweet potato but is was a puree. Husband's fish was good. Cottage fries needed a little more cooking. Waitress didn't come back to ask us how the food was

Great food always. Have been going there for years. My favorite is the vegetable beef soup with huge chunks of meat.

It is a great family friendly place. It is a good place for if you are just there for a drink or a bite to eat the food is great and affordable. The staff is always helpful and friendly.

Doesnt look like much from outside, reasonable price, large portions, good selection. Salad bar and soup with all entrees. Friendly staff, Pammy is a great waitress. Recommended.

Hands down this is one of the very best places for lunch or dinner. The atmosphere is warm, relaxing and very friendly. The food is always good with the best steaks for miles around! What more does a carnivore need...enjoy!

Amazing daily specials. Fritz and Tiffany make an awesome pair! Doesn't get better than this place. My favorite little hideaway. Awesome all you can eat fried chicken with salad bar. They make you feel so welcomed and truly put a smile on your face because thats what they strive for. Wish it wasnt so far away from home!! Other than that, highly recommend!!! Family friendly as well!

I've only gone on Wednesday night for their fried chicken buffet and the chicken is delicious.

One of the best bacon cheeseburgers you can get and very reasonable prices. The chicken sandwiches are huge. My dad also really loved his porkchop sandwich. We only had the lunch menu to choose from so we will definitely go back to try steaks for dinner. Good friendly service and plenty of on street parking.

The food was ok but the service was very cold.all she did was sit there read a book and sat and yelled across the room if we need anything and how was things and it was stone quiet in there and when i bought a couple songs on the jukebox she turned the volume way low we will not be back

Never had anything less than amazing!!! Their signature chicken sandwich is great and so is the fish!! We have tried the walleye and cod. Both were delish!! But try the broccoli slaw..... It's amazing!!!!!!! Burgers are great also!!! Maybe little pricey but you get a large amount!

Nice place to eat in a small town south of Rockford, Il. Very nice salad bar, about a dozen daily specials posted on the wall and a regular menu as well. Each evening a different special is offered. Reasonable prices and good service.
