2 or 3 phones are stolen every day and staff will not help with cameras or at all to try to get them back. Staff don't care about residents valuables when they get stolen. Police needs to get involved in this matter.

Staff is very rude and they favored people. Yeah it is kept clean people are helpful the food is decent certain staff members will go out of their way to help you with whatever they need unfortunately not all of them are that helpful.

You get in trouble for anything and everything if you don't follow the rules and policies even if you're new and don't know them they don't tell you till after you broke a rule. They treat you like your nothing and act like they better than you.

The staff are doing their best to help out . Even in the weekend

Management and a few staff members treat you like garbage.

Really like it here even though it is case by case. Every 28 days is evaluation to if you qualify to stay longer.

Friends of the Homeless has come a long way and I think it's awesome how the community is served!

They give you 3 meals a day. A place to stay at night and if you don't want to go anywhere the day you don't have to.

I have been taking my friend there for check ups for the past couple years. This facility offers shelter, food and medical care to the homeless. They do the best they can with what they've got. Unfortunately, there aren't enough shelters for the increasing number of homeless due to the Coronavirus and opioid pandemics. We're so very grateful to Geraldine Kennedy, NP for her dedication to the homeless and this facility. She has been nothing but professional, empathetic, sincere, and nonjudgmental. She is a tremendous asset to the homeless who count on her. Thank you Geraldine!

No help at all. People at the shelter that live there are rude. Beds are hard, I got into a car accident and still forced to use a top bunk when young healthy individuals are on the bottom.

Fires of hell. That's what FOH stands for. A great idea, but just an awful place if you need to stay there.

Had a friend stay here.the staff in the men side are no good may be1 or 2..they have preferences for some no respect.no organization everything gets stolen.preferences for whom gets a bed.showers are clogged, no support for this people are all, 3 meals portions for children.the church do more when they come then this place..if your working trying to get back on your feet this place wont help you.they have everyone together drunk and users.so between stay up listing to the yelling and swearing and worry about your belongings and sleeping on the floor.this place needs to be inspected by the city.

I go there to participate in 12 step meetings and they have one there almost everyday of the week..thank you FOH

Staff is rude, disrespectful when they answer the phone. Shelter is not properly cleaned, after meals people have died in the shelter from overdose and the staff is not properly trained for that. Since the virus has hit there are less residents, but they know nothing about disfecting with bleach or keeping residents that stay their safe.The food is nasty, not even a dog would it it.need to provide better food for people who live there, healthier food for people with diabetes.

Actual Friends of the homeless building at 755 is good. The shelter itself at 769 is not so much. More to come if need be.

No REAL services no REAL food the got us on some no meat diet, they run this place like a prison and its not. They treat people like they don't matter, as if we a lower than pond scum, you get treated with no human respect at ALL. The staff is so hooked on drugs, sellin and buying drunk on the job is a daily accurrance. This place needs a new captain with a new crew or its gonna fail

It's ok if you need a place to stay. Most of the staff is responsive and kind. But there are individuals who have no business working with the homeless, and destitute. These individuals are rude and have nasty dispositions they are provocateurs. Otherwise the staff in the majority is professional at the least and caring at the most.

I come here for Psychiatrists appointment. I live my Psych Dr. She is amazing. Nice, friendly, listens to me, talks with me Not at me. It's always well worth the visits!! Grateful they're here.

A lot of people seemed go get "banned" over non sense...There is not much order there. This is my personal opinion however...but common sense is that if you are dealing with homeless people, then you are dealing with people who have issues (cause & effect)...They collect donations and grants...They should be not only more tollerant, but more forgiving before collecting the public monies to help people they decide to help...Also, the counselers are rather unprofessional...I'm not sure what the requirements are for that position there, but my personal experience with the counselers there are that they are immature, unprofessional, uneducated, inpatient, and rude...(without naming any ones in particular...there seems to be 3 counselers that fit the above descriptions perfectly)...

I hope that by writing this that I shed some light on an issue to the Commonwealth and to donors...and of course, the public, whom they claim to serve...

They say "a sober facility is deemed" for the people that they ban...but if that were true, no one would be allowed at this wet shelter...if they really desire to run the shelter that way, then they should change their type of shelter to a dry shelter...

I really hope they consider what I've wrote here...My personal experience goes that they have favorites and they like to play favoritism...even if it means looking the other way or even over looking occurances and incidents...it's a real shame to say the least...

As the casino opens homelessness will spike Springfield reminds me of montelpre italy from the book #thesicillian we are poor but we will paint it with gold and lights to give off the impression of false hope that no one is struggling here . Nothing ever survives in spring field it always dies and that's because LLC fees are too high and even resteraunt fail. How can a casino make it if a resteraunt cant . Read the book to understand Id give it one star because of the fact so many people have died there. The staff are involved in illegal activities and hide all day. The old kitchen on the mens side has mold inside it I used to breathe it in when I stayed there . It's a good place overall if you are really homeless and have no where to go. You have to stick to your self you will make it far .They don't help at all with housing really cause they won't get there 38$ a day from the state for beds , that ppl sleep on . So if they help you leave how is that helping them stay in operation. It's a catch 22 a Ponzi scheme . They send ppl away all the time . They judge people there way too much in my opinion. They need to teach ppl there how the housing lists work and how control numbers work and if they have an eviction on their record how about getting it resovled to get a place . Actually advocate for these people not treat them less than you not all people are end up homeless by choice.

Well it's not the Marriot but better than freezing to death

Sleeping like sardines in a can. No regards for COVID. At least theres mask rules. Broken hygeine dispensers, and the staff are decent. And food, even if its not that much.

A place to spend the night. They provide you breakfast, lunch and. Sign. All free.

If you are in a tough spot, and ready to build a path forward for yourself, but you need a safe space and help figuring out the complex network of resources and tools available to you, then this is the place for you. The staff here are ready and willing to work with those who are ready and willing to help themselves. I am grateful for them.

Great place to find community resources for the homeless as well as receiving QUALITY healthcare services for a less fortunate population. Unfortunately, people in this population tend to be treated as less than and are stigmatized due to their personal struggles. It really helps that the staff are amazing and treat their clients with dignity and respect! As a human services worker, I would recommend my own personal clients to this agency for services!

The facilities are fairly new and clean. Not to mention, 99% of the staff here really truly care about each and every person who is stayin here, regardless of how new you are or if you've been here for a while.

Great meals. Good program for people who need a fresh start. Needs more funding for MUCH NEEDED EXPANSION

Terrible place. There's no direction. People do what they want. They smoke and do drugs in the building. No one watches or does anything about it.

Good place to get off the street. And make a new start. Get back on your feet.

This is a mixed review type of deal and I will explain why. This company offers many services.
The people staying here however, are in need of different levels. (Psych, physically, financially. You name it) so expect for it not to be as pleasant as mom's house or clean. check in, mind your own business and get to work on yourself.

If you have no where to sleep this is a much better choice than the streets. Don't expect many luxuries but they serve 3 meals a day and have showers and laundry. There are plenty of people to help but you have to be proactive in getting it.

I'm staying here right now and it's a place that helps you with your life if you let it

I'M FORCED TO GIVE A STAR...ONE! MOOKEY WHO RUNS THIS SHELTER REFUSED ME A BED, ONLY 10 BEDS IN USE! OVER AND OVER REFUSED, I SLEPT IN THE STREETS! WHY HAVE A SHELTER IF MOOKEY WON'T LET US IN!!!!

I was there for 5 months. Staff would hide mail and won't care about bedbugs! After bringing him the bedbugs he still called me a liar!

This place band and throws people out of there resource center for medical issues etc. and the staff here are very in-compassionate and has no Americans with Disabilities Act liason to assist people like myself and was advised to file paperwork by the staff.
