it's been over 18 months that we have been trying to change my son's primary care doctor's information for Medicaid. the refusal to process this simple change is preventing him from getting PT, OT and other therapies for which he has been approved.

Outstanding organization that truly focuses on helping the community. I've partnered with them for years and have seen their proactive outreach and support services expand to really make a true impact on the well-being of all the clients.

Never return any calls. Left a voice mail a month ago and still no call return. This happens every time I call..I actually wouldn't give this place no stars. Then they keep sending different medicaid cards for me and my kids through different providers when we're all 3 are just suppose to be with one! This place sucks I'd rather go back to alamance county!

After a previous bad experience and much research,...

After a previous bad experience and much research, I contacted Tracey (OC DSS) about becoming a foster parent through OC DSS. As a single parent, I really wanted to give back to my community and have a child/ren in the house. Unfortunately, prior experiences (even if no fault of your own) will haunt you. The slogan "You don't have to be perfect to be the perfect parent." is a crock of s***. People who don't even know you will continuously judge you and make decisions, even without consulting with your social worker after you become a licensed foster parent. No matter what, you can't do it well and the perceived bad event will always outweigh the good. People in positions of decisions will not know you or anything about you and will decide whether you should remain as a foster parent. This comment has nothing to do with Tracey. She spent time getting to know me and gave me an opportunity to have a placement. Unfortunately, there is a group of unknown folks who made the decision that I don't fit "their foster parent ideals", so I should no longer be a foster parent. It might be time for families to re-evaluate whether being a foster parent for any DSS location is a good idea. There is a reason this cliche exists "No good deed goes unpunished." Beware if you wish to become a foster parent!
