I recently visited my mother in law and Friends home at Guilford has started to rapidly go down hill between the multiple infestations of bed bugs she's told me about to the roach I found killed right outside the dining room I just don't know where to start. New management seems to only care about budget cuts and saving. They amount of staff they have cut has reduced the quality of care for the residents tremendously, especially on weekends. The CNA's seem frustrated and irritable from taking care of way too many residents and most of the CNA's don't have any hospitality. Don't get me started on the started on the food. it's practically inedible now. I would love to see the old friends home, The way it used to be.

My parents have really not had a good experience. The food is not healthy, not appealing, and tastes bad. The cafeteria feels dirty. Their storage leaked from day one. My mom has seen one resident stick her finger in food going through the cafeteria line to test the flavor. There is very little parking with no assigned parking spaces. Now they have bed bugs in the facility. They moved there to make their lives easier because my dad has health problems. Instead, it has made them stressful. It feels like a nightmare for them. I truly am worried about their health. My parents are kind people who deserve to be treated better. The Presbyterian group who is in interim should obviously take over. Their professional ability and financial backing has what it takes to bring it up to snuff and raise the living quality.

my mom spent the last 12 years of her life at Friends. She progressed from apartment to assisted living to skilled care. I found the staff to be caring and supportive not only to my mom but to me as well. She was well cared for, kept clean and well fed. She always said she was glad SHE chose Friends Homes Guilford.
