Great family friendly place. Really like the upgrades. Some of the areas were dirty and construction filled when I went. But gotta understand it's only temporary and it's to build everyone something better. Only thing I wish they had were little baby kangaroos you might be able to pet in petting zoo. Like the fair used to have at 1 point before kids started getting sick. Possibly controversial but not like they don't have a petting zoo already, PEOPLE/KIDS just gotta wash hands before putting in their mouth....A NO BRAINER

The zoo was so much more than I had expected. The baby giraffe and the the elephants were my favorites. The grounds were lovely, and the people were friendly and helpful. Sea Lion Cove was very interesting, and I loved that it was landscaped with California native plants. It was both lush and drought tolerant.

Zoos okay. Not worth the price nor the entrance fee. Unfortunately, the park is horrible which reflects the zoo. Food overpriced, restrooms not clean, and bad customer service. Did enjoy the new exhibits, yet animals seem unhappy, depressed. Fresno really needs to invest more money into the park and restore some culture back to the city.

So enjoyed going with my grand & great grandchildren today. I'm really excited about the Kingdoms of Asia coming and always enjoy sitting in the Kopje Lodge & admiring the beautiful Savanna.

I love this zoo. The exhibits here just get better and better. The African animal exhibit is wonderful. Be sure to go feed a giraffe! Which reminds me, the giraffe handlers were very snarky and rude to me and my family when we last visited. I didn't like our treatment from them. Everyone else was great. If you ever get a chance to go to a special event that allows you behind the scenes, absolutely go for it. I've been in their on site vet clinic and it's great to see the equipment they use.

Nice

This Zoo has grown so much over the last few years. Overall great bang for your buck on the entry fee. Highly recommend membership if you have kids under 10. It will pay for itself. Love Sea Lion cove.

First time at this zoo and we went on a whim. Super clean, and was not crowded for a Saturday! The food was surprisingly delicious! And for the cost to get in, the price for our lunch was very decent. My 5 year old loved it and was entertained all day. Definitely coming back!

Awesome French restaurant. Their menu is just great, lots of variety. Their onion soup is super tasty, so are the mussels with fries. Their wine menu is great, they have Chablis. They also have daily specials. Prices are high but worth the portions and taste. Venue is super nice, cozy, like an authentic French bistro. Reservations are encouraged. A must in Fresno

Totally worth going. Truck broke down in Fresno and wanted to have an afternoon that wasn't stressful. Animals were out and moving so that also added to the fun, missed giraffe feeding but stingray and shark meet and greet made up for that.

Staff was fun, Friendly and approachable. Even though I made it for (essentially) the end of the day they still wanted to engage and have more than just a surface level conversation. Met a twin who's twin also works there, I'm a twin so it felt kinda cool to have that and other neat little moments with the staff (thanks Amanda you were bubbly and it rubbed off made the afternoon more enjoyable)

Prices were quite reasonable and overall a good way to spend an afternoon.

Great zoo! The only downside is the parking to get into the park that houses the zoo, story/play land and the park. Remember to bring it in cash too, 5$. The African exhibit is amazing, the reptile house is fun and don't forget the sea lion and seal exhibit either.

I love going to the zoo but today it was me and my sister , now is in a electric chair ,some of the rail are at the eye sight were it was hard to see. That is not all you had to go through the picnic area after the giraffes and that was hard to do. I think you need to have someone take a trip around the zoo in a chair. By the way she has MD so its a little hard to get around. And just a little note you need to swipe the walk way around the seals it was pretty slipper and I was wearing shoes not saddles. Thanks had a great time.

I don't know why we didn't visit this place sooner! There are so many beautiful animals and the staff really are educated in caring for them. Its much bigger on the inside than how it looks from the outside. The African Adventure and Safari areas were our favorites. We got to see the elephants, rhinos, wildebeasts, antelopes, you name it! Feeding the giraffes is an absolute MUST. Bring extra cash for the kiddos to do that and take lots of pictures. The food is also reasonably priced, so you wont break the bank getting lunch. Go visit and have fun!

July the 3rd, Friday, 2020....as the morning sun rose in the east, the Fresno Chaffee Zoo was ready for the visitors of the day. Even though the Covid-19 cloud hung over Fresno County, the zoo was well prepared for this problem. The animals didn't seem to mind that the people observing them had on masks and werepracticing social distancing. They were content with their food and well maintained enclosures. For the observing humans, there were plenty of hand sanitizer stations found across the grounds of the zoo. Granted the zoo had to close a few of the enclosed exhibits because of the "19" mandates, but the personal of the zoo had great presence and we think there were smiles beneath their masks. Questions were always answered, and often you came away with more information then your question was asked about. The zoo has come a long way since this person visited it when Nosey was still in her enclosure. So if you have not seen the Chaffee Zoo in 10 years or more, take some time out of your schedule, and if necessary, put on a mask and stroll through a wonderful zoo. Hopefully in a few months the mask will not be necessary. Enjoy...

Today was our fourth visit and it was incredible. The staff was very friendly and volunteered information all day. And it wasn't just a few employees that went out of their way. Everywhere we went, from the elephants, the llama petting, turtle exhibit, to the sting-rays, all the staff was great. An Asian guy named Mike was just the best, who totally explained to my 3 year old daughter that the turtles just like to wrestle a lot, and to not be alarmed :) he was amazing! We've had bad trips out before, but today was just magic. My thanks to the staff for making our day today one of our most memorable family outing in Fresno.
