Very pleasantly surprised!! We live in southern California and are are members of the San Diego zoo and Safari park. They are both incredible but, the experience here at the Fresno zoo was one we will never forget! The up close animal encounters were so amazing... Feeding the giraffes, petting the stingrays, standing 2 feet away from the sloths while the keeper hand feed them... All amazing experience that we never get in San Diego and for just a fraction of the entrance price! The staff was incredible, the crowds were few, and we will return next time we are in Fresno!

Aways a great place to go with family. Now that the safari park is finished we have been numerous times. This makes the park better and more fun for children. Love the sea lion show and feeding the giraffes.

The experience was great. Although there were several issues. First, the food is overpriced, second, when we went we got kicked out at 4 because they apparently close at that time when it said they closed at 7 at the front desk. If you rent the electric scooters for seniors but you're not a senior there then you'll get dirty looks from the employees. Didn't even get to see my favourites which were the reptiles, giraffes, and wolves. :(

The food is way to expensive. If I'm looking at it from a business point of view like they are I'd have food for people on a budget. Fresno only has one Zoo. They should be taking advantage of that and have options for the high class, mid class and low class. Instead they have this take it or leave it pricing

Very fun zoo. Lots of animals, lots to look at. Not badly priced for thing to buy. Feeding the giraffes was 3$, the jurassic part was 19 for 3 adults 1 child. I might honestly consider the membership because I enjoyed it enough to go again.

Haven't been here in 20 years. And also hasn't changed much in 20 years except for the Safari. That's a nice addition to the zoo. Parking could be a bit rough and tough because of a long walk if you didn't come early be

Been a member for 20 years or so. Pays for itself. New African Savana exhibit was and remains a treat. Pride Rock for the lions. Hippos and other animals grazing.sea lion cove is great. Cant say I have a complaint. Need more great apes though. Wish they could put the long planned aquarium on same site. Would be a major tourist attraction.

This place is really great for kids. With lots of experience especially during Christmas because they put up bright lights all around the park. This place' s mechendise and cafe are a little too expensive for my taste though. All in all, this is a pretty great zoo.

Having been a member of the Santa Barbara and Los Angeles Zoo s over the years when I moved to Fresno I was excited to discover a zoo. It is a wonderful place. I have taken my grandsons several times. It is just the right size to be able to enjoy a few hours and not feel overwhelmed and exhausted by the experience. They recently added a water park/playground for young people and my grandsons really enjoyed it. The collection of animals is very impressive considering it is not especially large zoo. I heartily recommend this wonderful zoo as a place for families to have very pleasant day.

Great place to spend the day with kids! Best thing about the zoo is their membership prices for families which include unlimited # of children...so that means a family with 6 kids pays the same as a family with 3 kids. Coming from a household with 6 kids, I know that large families will appreciate this!

This review in not about the zoo itself..more about the the security director and hiring staff. I Applied to a "Zoo Ranger" position which is basically a security guard position. Now I have over 10 years experience good record blah blah blah. Anyways I get to the interview and 5 people interview me. I noticed the security director didn't seem to like me right off the bat. He stated "We hire students". I'm in my late 30's and not currently a student which was not a requirement listed in the open hiring postion posted. This guy and about 3 of the other people conduting this interview acted like they didn't want to be there like a bunch of bored high school students in detention. Anyways about 10 months after this interview someone stole some exotic birds from this zoo. Well looks like your hotshot students couldn't even prevent that. Karma is satisfying lol. I do recommend this zoo though nice on the inside but they need to Revitalize the outside area. Dull and the area on Belmont need improvement. Good zoo overall.

I came on a field trip with my brother's school and there were only a few animals out. It might have been because we came in the afternoon and it was pretty hot. There were many different animals that I do not remember being here which was very neat. The highlight of my trip was being able to feed the giraffes.

Petting the stingrays/sharks is by far my favorite part of the zoo, the stingrays are so friendly and cute. The food is decently priced for what you get, and the reusable cups are very nice and eco-friendly by not needing a straw! There are lids that are given to you for the cups when you pay for your food, and there s a spot for you to drink out of and it does not leak. The petting zoo is always lots of fun and the zookeepers in there are always very informative and friendly when you ask them questions about the animals. The sea lion and seal show is also very cute! The sea lions are adorable and so is the seal, and it s very informative, teaching kids lots about the pinnipeds they have at the zoo! 10/10 recommend

They have changed so much, I use to get sad that the elephants and others were in such small places like a jail for animals. They have improved so much I saw family of rhinos in the newly improved area with many other animals. I cannot express how happy I am that these animals are getting more space and it's beautiful how they are making it look. I will definitely come back to see how it is finished.

Magnificent zoo. Especially the area of Africa. At the time you relax, much better than any massage! Magnificent views from the restaurant. We arrived at 12:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Just to see everything.
Very easy to reach from any part of the city with public transport.
Ideal if you spend hours in Fresno and do not know what to do.
Ideal to go with children.
