Fresno Chaffee Zoo Reviews

This is one of my top favorite zoo's, my other favorite is the Houston Zoo in TX, this zoo has an awesome unique safari like animal exhibit it just so Beautiful and awesome and it has a lot of cute touches the kids will enjoy.

Cannot wait until other areas of the zoo are completed!!! Oh... My grandson very much enjoyed the new dinosaurs attraction!!

This is a great bargain for your money to take your kids for the day throughout this summer it be a great thing to do it's also good for adults you can have a good time too..

It was a pretty warm day in the valley today, but that didn't stop us from visiting the zoo. The only exhibit that was closed was the Reptile House, which I wasn't too sad about (lol don't like snakes). It was exceptionally clean, the staff was super nice and friendly. There were possibly 2 habitats that didn't have animals (sick/injured animal I believe or just being moved). It always brings back memories coming here and I'm glad we came today to support the zoo and see all the wonderful exhibits and animals. Oh and the African Zoofari is AMAZING. Oh and for $3 you can even feed the giraffes .

Had a good few hours today at the Zoo.
Had lunch at the Kopje lodge, and enjoyed the view out to the Savannah.
The Zoo grounds were very clean inside, outside the facility in and around the parking lot a different story...We will return..

Over the years the zoo has gotten better and has added new areas to the zoo, great way to spend time with the family have some good food choices and they are still expanding adding a new area coming soon and the entry fee is inexpensive.

Overall it was very nice and peaceful. Definitely a place to enjoy the day at.

I have many fond memories of visiting the zoo with family and my school. I remember when you could ride the camels and take a picture, my mom still has the photo.

Now that I'm older and have my own children I visited this weekend and am so happy to see the constant improvements and new exhibits. The cafe is gorgeous. The water playground is a gem when you get tired of walking around in the heat with a cranky toddler. I especially love the little tables and chairs in corners of the zoo to sit down and eat snacks I brought with us. I nursed my baby there comfortably and then when we continued our tour I was delighted to see they actually have a breastfeeding nook in the kids area by the food shack.

Sea lion cove is another favorite and to be able to see them swimming underwater was an awesome experience. Thank you Chaffee zoo and staff. Your hard work and dedication is appreciated by many families.

I loved and a good place to hang and cheap I really really REALLY recommend it

Awesome place for children.. I personally wish they would bring back the Gorillas.. The staff is AWESOME and friendly..

Beautiful zoo staff was rude at the petting zoo though.

Has both large and small dog areas. I won't go there by myself because of homeless people in the area. Also you have to pay $5 per car or $3 for seniors or you can get a yearly pass

Chaffee Zoo has done an excellent job in the past 5-8 years of revamping the exhibits and family friendly activities and spots for kids. May 5th a large play area with water activities is opening up and it looks awesome. Price is affordable and parking is not usually too bad. I will continue to support Zoo measures as it looks as if the money is being spent productively.

Excellent place to bring your children. Food court has great food at very reasonable prices. Kids really enjoyed the petting zoo.

This is actually a very nice zoo. My family and I prefer Chaffee Zoo to the Los angles zoo. The zoo is kept very clean compared to other zoos we have visited in major metro areas in the state. Keep up the good work.

For a medium sized city its pretty good, bit it always seems to be under construction

The zoo has changed a lot since I was little. With the new additions of the sea lions and the Safari zone, this zoo is now one of the best in the state. If you are in the Central Valley, you don't have to go to the Bay area or down south to have a great zoo experience. It's right there in your backyard. Make a day of it and see how much it's changed for the better!!

Alot of construction so less things to see. The African plains is the best, we could sit and watch the animals all day. Definitely a better trip during the week when there is less people. Overall a great outing for the day.

For being a smaller zoo, they have many different animals to see..cant wait to see what the new expansion will look like when complete.

Most zoo's dont charge for parking, but it was only $5.00. It was priced per person good to get in. The zoo itself is great. Nice size, lots of animals to see, no animals sleeping.

I loved it so much it was really nice the prices for some of the thing is a little rediculus but it was really fun.

Love the new updates they have done now since last time i went they were remodeling is amazing my kids love the set up definitely enjoyed by the whole family

I personally love this place I grew up coming here. Now my kids are able to experience it.

What a wonderful place. Lunch on the Savannah was delightful. Tropical bird area was cooled with mist emitters and nicely cool. We are blessed to have chaffee zoo in Fresno!

Me and the family had a good time walking around the zoo. It had been a few months since we've been able the go. We saw all the exhibits in about 2 hours today.

Toke whole family it was great they could have explained what full access included but overall it was great

Great day trip with the kids. Well laid out, plenty of shade, food was fairly priced. Can't wait to visit again!

Nice layout, but felt scammed. High admission price with little mention of all the extra $ you have to spend to do anything worthwhile. Do your homework before visiting in regards to real costs. Not pleased with the lack of animals on exhibit.

Special thanks to maintenance issac. My kid got hurt and Issac Ran to the safety office to get my band aid. Thank you this is the small gesture ment alot to us.

Nice place not very interactive but you can see all the animals in like 1-3 hrs

Popcorn was stale. Zoorassic park was fun. Overall had a good time.

A surprising gem of a zoo. You can spend the whole day with great food selections or bring your own.

It was okay. Smaller than I expected, animal enclosures didn't look big enough but knowledgeable staff. Cheap price for admission.

I went to the winter lights exhibit and it was pretty but not worth the whole ticket price.

My personal tour of the zoo was so informative because of the excellent information provided by the volunteer docent Linda Franklin. I have been to zoo's across America, but have never been so informed about the animals and the behind the scenes activities and care that must take place for the animals to remain healthy and active. A wonderful experience made all the better thanks to Linda. Be sure to spend a day, or two, when in Fresno, Ca.

I love Fresno Chaffee Zoo it was the best trip ever and there was no problem

I was very disappointed with how the seal exhibit it needed to be cleaned i was there for mothers day weekend and you could barely see them swim. In the murky water. So sad.

I love this zoo and looks small but it big inside.and my family and I spend a lot of time there and it fun.

The flamingos and the rhinos are my favorites. The flamingos for their delicateness as well as their color; the rhinos for their thickness as well as their practical lack of color. Wonderful zoo.

The Zoo is always a great place to visit and spend time with family

This place is awesome to go to but it is always packed and its always very hot in the summer

I really wanted to give it a 5 stars but the only reason for 4 is the food ,is kind of expensive 1 bottle of water is 2:50 ,I suggest taking some snacks and water .they been adding more attraction so there are more things to see.

The Zoo has really made some great improvements! Check out the Giraffe area, lions, elephants, sea lion cove, and the Roo walk a bout. The new area has great food, a cozy place to sit, and the animal enclosures are stunning. The design is too beautiful for words. YOU NEED TO GO. Support the zoo, the animals, and help with conservation.

I love taking my girls has several places of entertainment selos I recommend.

This zoo is full of wonderful memories and it just keeps getting better each year.

I went to zoo lights with my nephews and niece. They had a great time! Tons of lights, and a wide variety of cool effects. We got the 3d glasses, which made fun Christmas designs around the lights. There were several activities to do, such as getting hot chocolate or roasting marshmallows. These were a bit overpriced, but we had plenty to do just walking around and checking out the light displays.

One of my ultimate favorite places. It brings back all kinds of childhood memories
