On 9/24/20 I was driving on US117 from Goldsboro to Clinton. This construction company's truck went full speed over into my lane. I laid on my horn and they continued to come into my lane resulting in me going off the side of the road. Upon looking up the company, I noticed another reviewer posted that the same thing happened to them. Absolutely awful and reckless driving on more than one occasion. Terrible way to represent the company that you work for!!

The only reason I have a 1 rating is to be able to write a review. Do NOT even consider this company! Their bragging about doing Hwy24 is a straight up LIE! The road is nowhere near being complete! All they ve done is made a chaotic mess!! They are 470+ days OVER contracted date!! Our city has been in shambles for months because of their incompetence, lack of management, & unqualified workers! They could care less about the terrible mess they ve made tearing up the roads & leaving 1lane traffic for months in the busiest part of town. It s ridiculous & an embarrassment for my city!

I have been working as a traffic flagger on Fred Smith jobs via Labor Finders since July 2019. They are a great company to work for. Now me my son and wife work for them often and they are always our favorite jobs to work on. They pay better than other contractors and have the most competent foremen and staff. We always look forward to working for them on Stadium drive in Wake Forest. Desmond, CJ and Wesley are great people to work for and with.

I currently rent a townhome from FredSmith properties so this review reflects the property management side, not construction. Within the past month, my AC unit has gone out 4 times. I have been told by the emergency maintenance line that this wasn t an emergency although it s listed on a NC STATUTE as one. 2 different people have come to empty out drip pans and say that fixed the issue. I ve spoken to a maintenance supervisor by the name of John, who assured me everything would be fixed on the last visit (last week). I m a single parent, I have an 11month old and a visiting mother from Ny helping me care for my sick child. The temperature gets up to mid 90s and no one seems to care. I have been trying to get in contact with the leasing office at Headingham and NO ONE will answer the phone, return my calls, or even respond to my many emails that I ve sent. The maintenance guys are lazy as hell and obviously look for a short cut in every bit of work they do. At this point, I am going to seek legal advice to get me out of my lease because Fred Smith doesn t give a damn about their tenants. But be a day late on rent and see what happens. Smh. And to Stefanie Maraziagos, I have tried to contact you multiple times as you are the ONLY contact I have had since applying to this property. You should be fired. If I could leave no stars I would have.

A truck with a Fred Smith Company logo on it cut me off on I 85 in Durham, NC a few minutes ago. The truck did not signal and caused me to have to slam on brakes. Hopefully whoever it was is safer on the job.

I was driving towards Cary on US 1 yesterday. A logo-ed Fred Smith company truck was driving in the left lane (see photos). I was behind him for 5-10 miles, and his speed kept fluctuating from 50-70 mph. I decided best thing was to pass him in the right lane.

I turn on my directional and begin to pass him. At the exact same time
that I begin to pass him, he engages his directional and quickly begins coming into the right lane.

The concerning part?

He did not stop coming into my lane.

He kept coming, forcing me fully onto the shoulder at highway speed. I kept my hand on the horn the entire time. Narrowly missing road debris I somehow negotiated my way back onto the highway, .

Adding insult to injury, he then proceeded to make his way back into the left lane (????).

I don't know anything about this company's competence in construction, but its employees could use a driving class, or three.

Not a great way to treat your potential customers, in a logo-ed company truck nonetheless.

Just called the non emergency police number for Clayton police since y all think it s acceptable to start loud construction work at 6:30 on a Saturday morning and wake entire households right behind you in Riverwood. Before beginning construction work y all should maybe look at and understand noise ordinances that are in-place in the communities in which you work and claim to care about.
