Last night's show at Avett Brothers was a disaster. Not because of the band they are one of the best shows out there. The volume was so low that you could hear people talking in the lawn louder than the show! The staff was incredibly rude and aggressive. They over sold the show and then demanded that you had 2 feet on a piece of grass. Don't go to this venue and bands should be warned that it makes for a bad representation of what it could be.

Beautiful venue and surrounding area, but the staff seemed a little disorganized and inconsistent when it came to giving out information. After waiting in line for 3 hours we were told that all gates wouldn't open at the same time, and ours would most likely open last! This was for a general admission show, so we went early with hopes of a front row seat. As strict and stern as they were with the rules, once we got inside it was a free for all. People were standing in front of seated people, kids were playing in the aisles, and no one was doing anything to stop it the entire night. The only thing I cared for besides the appearance of the place was the acoustics and the artist I went there to see. It is mostly a place to drink, dance, and chat with your neighbors, not a place for serious concert goers who are there to see the show without being distracted.

Beautiful venue. Although the people who work there are a little like drill sergeants. I understand keeping things under control but all the rules and regulations are a bit overboard sometimes. Also, be prepared to miss a large portion of the show waiting in the concession lines. Not Unusual to stand in line for half an hour to 45 minutes. I don't understand why they don't add a few beer trucks. The long lines are frustrating after you've paid good money to see a band.

Love all the events and concerts here. I can't give it 5 stars because they block off the streets and sidewalks during events. Several years ago they didn't do this and it made for a really cool environment.

First time there, but it will not be my last. I was there to see Morrissey and Interpol, a once in lifetime concert. Let me say despite the unusual heat, the concert was amazing! The venue was just as amazing, along with all the employees there. I could give you a good guess after about a half hour as to how many venues I have been to in my life. But instantly tell you that this was the best most intimate, friendly, perfect place to enjoy a concert. One person in our group needed handicapped parking. When I pulled up to a parking attendant to explain the situation. She wanted to know where our seats were, to park us as close as possible. To say the that she knew what she was doing. We were parked less than 300 feet from our seats. We had amazing seats, but even the worst seat would have been good one. Hopefully if this review doesn't do it justice these pictures will.

Fraze Pavillion is an event venue that has an ampitheater and an adjacent landscaped area. Most events such as concerts are performed in the ampitheater with access to restrooms and a concession area. The nicer seats, plaza and orchestra, are near the stage. The lawn seating is behind the orchestra and the terrace seats, a large metal bench structure is behind the lawn. You can bring blankets and rent padded seats for the lawn. You can bring blankets and cushions for the terrace. For the big name acts the sound is usually very good, especially when the Dayton Philharmonic has accompanied the performer. For the lesser known acts, the sound can be too loud and shrill so bringing some earplugs can help. You may want to bring a poncho in case of rain. The festivals do not use the ampitheater, the bands set up somewhere around the fountains. For these events, lawn chairs are allowed and it is a good idea to bring them if the festival is crowded. The sound quality for those vary widely, so again being some earplugs are a good idea. Fraze's main problem is the potential for long lines. For a big name concert act, the wait to pass through security can be 30 minutes or more. This year (2019) each person is subjected to a metal detector, then their ticket is scanned, and then a wristband is put on your arm. Most festivals have the same procedure. The worst unresolved problem are extremely long lines for the concessions. It is not always a problem (e.g. Franki Valli), but for the performers who a attract a younger or rowdier audience (e.g. Get the Led Out), it is always a problem. You can wait an hour for a warm foil wrapped sandwich and a ten dollar beer. Plan to miss part of the show. And it seems to be getting worse each year. The festivals can be very crowded, but I have noticed that those in later summer are less crowded. Most festivals labelled as 'Free Festival" also have the security entrances and the staff is quite vigilant. My wife and I attended the "Festival of the Vine" this year. It was one of the free festivals and poorly attended. There were no lines or crowds when we were there in the afternoon. As we were folding up our lawn chairs preparing to leave, a staff member accosted us and accused us of sneaking in. The absurdity of this was beyond measure (the festival was free, there were no lines or crowds, our arm-bands plainly visible). We remained calm and told her that we have armbands and pointed to them attached to our arms. She abruptly left. I feel fortunate that it did not escalate into a law enforcement response against us. A very enjoyable event is "Art on the Commons" where local artists display their work for sale amid a backdrop of music and refreshments. And best of all, there is no security perimeter and very few Fraze staffers. So you can just walk in and walk out like an adult and enjoy yourself without being harassed.

Getting there an hour early and still could not get in. They either need more people to work or wuit over selling the show. GTLO was great..but the venue...sticking with THE ROSE.. FRAZE you disappoint a lot of people!

Overpriced. "Security/customer service" is overkill and makes for an unfriendly atmosphere (will I get stopped if I spill a coke, or fart in public). It's insane that you feel like the workers outnumber the patrons. Rarely go there anymore and I'm only a couple miles away

Love everything about this wonderful hometown place! Gorgeous and clean environment with awesome helpful and friendly staff and vendors, not a bad seat in the house to enjoy the terrific performances from great artists from Reba to Ringo!

I would actually give it 2.5 stars, nice place for a concert but the staff seem to think they are freakin' Storm Troopers...must be their night off as a door greater at Wal-Mart. If there is a problem, like we once encountered, they wont do anything. Waste of resources!

I have have gone to this place before and it was a nice friendly environment. Yes they had the typical restrictions (no umbrellas, strollers, cools, no outside food/drink, weapons). Which I am fine with. But now they are like the military Hawking you down. There is new bad restrictions that are ridiculous. I have a diaper bag for my kids and three people had to check it to verify there was diapers in it and they had to put a band around it. They are passing around their clear bags for 5 dollars. I believe they should be free to ticket holders. And they are about the same size as my bag. I even measured it when we left. We bought a 6 pack of unopened water they said since you have 4 people you have to take 2 out. Probably so we have to buy their expensive water bottles and their outrageous food. But the band Disco Inferno was amazing and hippie cool!!!

I really like the Fraze Pavilion. I've been many times. They are large enough to attract quality entertainment and small enough that you don't dread walking to parking and trying to leave after it's all over.

A great place to see a show. The venue is small enough to provide intimacy to allow you to really enjoy the act, whereas many stadiums and ampitheaters are too large to get that theater feel. This venue is located smack dab in the midst of a residential neighborhood with no on site parking. Street parking and school lots are the best options. You might have to walk a ways if you don't arrive early. Surprisingly traffic after the show drained out pretty quickly.
