I got a haircut with Roger at Franz Sebastian Salon. He did a great job! The staff was friendly and courteous. My hair is the exact length I said I wanted, with gentle layers that went beyond what I knew to ask for by adding some extra pizazz. Find a stylist who knows how to ask questions until they really understand what you want. All in all, 5 star experience, with a price on par with other high-end Bethesda salons.
Didn't love my experience here. Actually, I got home and bawled my eyes out. I explained that I was terrified of getting my extremely curly hair cut, because it behaves better the longer the hair is. The lady who did my hair chopped off a good three fingers and steam-rolled me the whole way into doing what she thought was best but insisting she knew what it felt like to have hair cut beyond your wishes/not to your liking (ironic) and that she was doing what I asked. Furthermore, she insisted on showing me Pinterest photos of what it WOULD look like, basing herself on what? Photos of other ladies' hair? I have MY hair and it wont for sure look like a photo taken off some general website. That said, she kind of ended up ruining the shape of my overall curls, so much so, that they don't even fall the right way anymore. I am ashamed to wear my hair curly because it looks like a sad excuse and moreover, it's not ME, it's not my curls (she cut way too much off for the curls to fall as they should so I basically have a frizz ball situation). It's a mess. And to be fair, she did the ends and whatever and it was okay. The hydrating treatment i asked for did wonders. But i didn't like her attitude and I'm sorry to say that now I'm even more regretful of getting a haircut and when I DO get it cut again, I wont be coming here for sure.
I ve been to numerous high end salons but have yet to find another salon like Franz Sebastian. It s full of talented stylists that truly care about your hair and want to make sure it stays healthy. Franz has been my stylist for over a decade and he is simply the BEST! He s an amazing hair stylist and color master with a keen eye for complimenting skin tones with hair color, or matching ANY color you want for that matter.. (at my request, we went purple once! Lol). I bring my mom, daughter, and son here; each have been styled by various artists, including Damien and Denise. The transformation that happens in the chair is always mesmerizing. This salon has been the only place I can trust to guarantee that when I leave, I ll not only look amazing, but feel vibrant. I appreciate this salon so much it s a trendy spot with hair artists who are warm and friendly. I love it!!
Lia is the best!! This girl knows what she is doing!! She have hair knowledge and will NEVER damage your hair. I am very happy she got rid of my black her and give me beautiful golden highlights! People complimented me all the time. She know how to blow dry hair well, my hair always look like I come out of a magazine. My girlfriends get there hair done only by Lia, I will follow her wherever she goes. Let me tell you about washing and giving the best head massage like no other, very professional, friendly, chatty, makes you feel like you known her for years.Give this stylist a try, you will never regret it!!!
I like this salon, but my haircut made by their master is not for me. I should wash and blow my hair daily morning, because I wake up with explosion at a pasta factory. My stylish was sick with COVID and I tried this salon. So, I come back to my stylish master, because he cut me so excellent that I don't need use any wax, creme, spay.... to make ideal hair.
I m from Brazil, and have been living in Bethesda for almost 4 years and since I m very picky about people cutting my hair, I didn t have a haircut for all those years. So I decided to try out this place for the first time after reading the reviews. I scheduled an appointment with Denise, and she did an amazing job on my hair ( from long to short length) just as I wanted. After that I returned for the Brazilian blowout treatment (which is a game changer, absolutely love it!) And once again, Denise did it very professionally. I highly recommend this salon, the staff is super friendly and Denise is amazing!
Franz and his staff are awesome and always take good care! Jae is great, she s been cutting my hair for years. I definitely recommend checking them out.
