Had a wonderful time highly recommend staying at the Bavarian Inn Lodge!
Went for a wedding had the reception up stairs. Food great finished in the lounge about midnight car wouldn't start. Front desk had maintenance help with a jumper box. Thank You
Everything smelled like bleach. My kids came out of the waterpark and their eyes and skin burned. Everything else is fine but making our skins itch and burn is the reason I'm putting 2 stars.
A place where if you start drinking after 12 noon, you're starting late
1st time visiting there so it was a lot to take in. Everyone seemed friendly though
We've been Perks members for about 5 years. In that time we've stayed at this location 3 or 4 times. This last stay was mid-February 2018
Pool 2 stars
We come specifically for the pool. The kids will spend hours playing in the water. This particular visit had an enormous volume of kids in the pool. My children got kicked in the face multiple times and jumped on once. The chemical concentration in the pool was also extreme. My daughters hair was kind of crunchy when they came out of the pool. Their skin broke out in pimples. We ve been to many pools and have not experienced this anywhere else.
Also for some reason you can t get a towel at the pool. You need to head to the elevator to get them. You only make the mistake once. Clearly guest convenience isn t top priority
I m not sure when the staff can do to address these issues, but we will most likely not be returning because of this. The pool is the main draw
Food 1 star
We ate a the Lorali lounge during the kids party. The food was really awful. I m not going to try to describe it. Simply awful. We also ate at the eatery next to the golf. The food was a little better, but again quite subpar.
Room 1 star
The toilet rocked when you sat on it. The tub creaked and sifted when stepping in. Moving a piece of furniture showed the dust and dirt built up. Also found a kids toy behind the sitting chair in the room. Vacuuming isn t a priority here. The rooms are dated and unclean.
My overall impression of this facility is that the owners are trying to wring out the last few dollars they can without spending anything other than the bare minimum. It s gone downhill over the years. Obviously they don t need to update or improve anything because the place was packed, so I don t anticipate the place getting any better. I guess Frankenmouth is such a tourist destination that quality isn t really required to draw a crowd.
I think for us Frankenmuth will become one day destination (no hotel stays) and we ll spend our pool/hotel money somewhere else. There has to be better value for our money
Update - 03/12/2018 - Response to owner
Jim, thanks for getting back to me. A few things:
-My account is not fake. I've had this account for years and use it specifically to write reviews. I'm not interested in having my real name posted on the interwebs.
-Working from memory the room number was 161. It faced the parking lot. Maybe you can have the toilet and tub looked at
Update 3/26/2018
As requested by Jim, I sent him an email with my contact info and room number and such. I sent the email on 3/13/2018 and as of 3/26/2018 have not received any communication from him or anyone at the facility.
Update 4/15/2018
Still no communication from Jim or anyone at the Bavarian Inn. I guess Jim's interest in addressing the problem has withered...
Love the atmosphere, the food, everything. One of the family's favorite places to go when we want to run away from home for a day. Family style chicken dinner a bit pricey but WELL worth the cost.
I've been going to the Bavarian Inn since I was really little. The rooms are always kept nice and clean, and the fact that each room is dedicated to a German family is really cool. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. there is entertainment for children and adults, with pools, waterslides, hot tubs, a beautiful mini golf course, an arcade, exercise room, tennis courts, and pool tables. Oma's, the restaurant on the main floor, has great breakfast!
Live this lodge. Stay here a couple times a year. Great location, food, clean rooms and nice staff.
Very nice outside. Near all tourist sites. Interior a little aged bathroom small and dark but comfortable bed. View of the indoor pool. Very good overall. Superb and immense place for children and teenagers with indoor games and 3 pools, a fourth pool is reserved for adults with a very popular spa
Horribly crowded but it was a really nice day heading into the holidays.
I have been going to Frankenmuth for 25 years (since I was an infant.) I have stayed at the Drury Inn along with Bavarian Inn. I love Bavarian Inn for the Family Amenities along with the family atmosphere. I have stayed at the hotel before all the expansions and I have stay during and after. I do agree for the amount of money you spend in the arcade there could be better prize options, BUT that is with anywhere you go that has those types of games and rewards. The last time we stay there I was highly disappointed because we went in the dead of winter and for two nights stayed in our Family Suite room #1106 with NO heat!! The maintenance gentleman couldn't even get it to work and there were no other rooms for us to stay in that was of this type of room. Finally he got it working and we were given a money voucher towards a future stay. That was very nice but mind you this room is quite expensive and they gave us a fraction back of one nights stay. Now with that being said I will not stop going there because it is a place that brings happiness to me from my childhood and I like to share that with my kids. I am very disappointed that they have priced themselves SO high that we no longer can stay during the car show! Every year since I was a baby (I'll be 26 in July) we have came in September and stay for the car show. We would always get two rooms one for my parents and us kids and another one for my grandparents. Now becoming an adult I would have loved to get a third room for my family and kids alone, but the prices are SO crazy high that it's not even worth it. So now all 3 families have stopped coming. I use to get great deals with becoming a Perks member but now I get on to look for a room to use this voucher and the price isn't that much different at all! It would almost be worth eating this money and just staying at Drury Inn where I can get a full Kitchen Suite Room for the price of a plain jane room here. I feel since you have become SO commercialized that the prices have drove a lot of the families away that have come here for years. This is the main and only reason I am only giving a 4 star. I wish you all would really look at ALL these complaints and do something about it. I'm very disappointed and hoping that my visit in two weeks will be much better, despite the high price I'm paying.
We come here every year for our anniversary and we always love the experience. The hotel has such unique pools and activities!
My son loves the Family Fun center. He kept telling me that we needed to go to floor F. We also stayed in a room with a whirlpool tub. I love these rooms. Plenty to do for a couple of days.
The grounds are very nice. The pool and kids area are exceptional. Food and bar are sub part, but there are many alternatives within walking distance.
The service, price, package and lodgings as well as proximity to shopping were perfect for a weekend away with the Misses. Will come again.
Very very nice hotel. Food is very good. Waterslides are super fun too
Very nice room. Didnt have much interaction with staff but the arcade and look areas were all maintained.
I enjoyed the hotel and water park. The staff was very friendly and helpful. More attention could be spent on housekeeping. I saw specks of stuff on the carpet and near the table leg, I found a pill. Not a big deal for us, but could have been very bad with families of small children.
Very nice place, authentic German atmosphere and good restaurant. Doesn't get more pure Michael than this.
We had an amazing Winter Getaway!! We would recommend it for everyone. We recommend going to the Bavarian Inn Restaurant for Family Style Chicken Dinner too. We will be back. Thank you so much for the Hospitality while making family memories..
Great place to take your family. There is something for everyone here. Very historical atmosphere mixed with modern comforts and entertainment. Great service. Would definitely recommend.
Tons of fun in one hotel 5 pools one of them is adult only 18 and over game rooms a couple restraints a bar I love that place.
Stayed here for a night while I was visiting up in Michigan. I love the hotel I've been here before a long time ago. There's so much to do especially if you have kids. The adult pool area with the pool table is nice since there isn't a bunch of kids running around. Each room is dedicated to a family which is pretty cool then inside they have info and pictures about the family which I really liked and was an interesting touch.
The restaurant was amazing! The chicken was some of the best I ever had. The prices may look high on the menu but you get more food than you can imagine. So worth it!
Went there for a wedding outside. It was beautiful. Reception inside upstairs was great & the food was good.
Great place if your looking for good food and tons of things for kids!..Stay at Bavarian Inn and they have miniature putt putt golf inside and four pools and they have hot tubs as well. This has a slide in a couple pool areas and did I say, Great Food especially if you love fried chicken! People come from all over the world to just see Frankenmuth Michigan and if you have never been here then I highly suggest to make a vacation here. I live ten minutes away and I honestly stay there when going on vacation.
Im coming to the restaurant this weekend and giving it a 3 until
I leave.. will be staying over night and have heard great things about this place
A personal favorite of mine. If I get away for a few days this is where I'll stay.
Staff is very helpful. Bathroom toilet runs alot and. No dim light for bathroom. Rooms are very clean though!
We've stayed two nights in a premium king room. The staff have all been extremely pleasant; they smile and say hi in the hallways and have been helpful with all of our questions. The waterslides are fun (even got a 30 year old), the pools and hot tubs are kept at 84 and 104 respectively. There are three or four loud pools by the giant arcade, and a quiet adult only pool and hot tub in the courtyard. And those Brew City Fries at Oma's restaurant on the first floor... I'll be back just for those.
Inclement weather called for an inside activity for my boys and I. I knew just the place, Bavarian Inn Lodge in Frankenmuth Michigan. There we had an awesome time playing 18 hole putt putt golf. So happy that they provide indoor family activities for bad weather or just looking for something different and entertaining the family.
It is a fun place to stay with lots of things to do for the whole family.
The hotel was very nice, could probably use a little bit of updating in the rooms though. Overall we were satisfied with our room and stay! Nice walking distance to downtown shops
A little pricey, but so worth it! Nice clean family friendly hotel!
Great place to visit for an old world traditional German chicken dinner.
We make reservations every Thanksgiving, for the buffet.
Great place to take kids. Most shops and restaurants are in walking distance.
Very disappointing seems like it is not the place it used to be. Rooms very drafty could feel cold air coming through window bathroom very small the toilet and tub squeezed together. These are not cheap rooms. Had brunch there will not do that again. Food was not good service was poor. We have gone here for years this is are last time.
Had a lovely time. Great venue for our 50th class reunion. Go Flint Northwestern
It was a busy holiday week. We had a good time. The pools were pretty full. Wish they were bigger but we had a great time all in all. We'll be back
First off, the food is amazing. I attended the Bavarian Inn for a wedding and can't say enough good things about the food served there. I was a little disappointed in the hotel's booking staff as half of their pools and waterslides were closed for maintenance the weekend I was a guest there. This information was not made available at the time of booking, nor was I informed of this fact even though I had reservations made 2 months in advance. This is a great place for families. Lots for children to do here. I was a bit confused as to why your on site "lounge" had last call at 11:30pm... It forced myself and several others looking for cocktails to go elsewhere. Is highly recommend this hotel if you are staying with children. If you are an adult looking for nightlife after 11pm, it's hard to come by here.
Great friendly service and a great place to stay you will have fun here
Bavarian Inn has a wonderful atmosphere in the heart or Frankenmuth, and a great restaurant and shops galore with wines cheeses knick knacks and gifts. It's an overall great experience for a family
Everything was nice, but the water slide was out of order. Clean rooms. The chairs in the conference rooms were a little hard for a 2 day conference
I attended a wedding there and it was beautiful and professional service
Good over night stay and some fun for all the family's
Always been a nice place to visit, prices are a bit high but other than that warm friendly service.
Great place to take the family not only for fun but for education within the town we will definitely be back
Went to do some of the kid friendly stuff. Didn't stay at the hotel. Then arcade was nice. Had lots of games. The prize counter had lots of choices, and wasn't overly priced. Only negative I experienced was the lack of parking.
They put on a great conference but the lunch was terrible ...I paid 120.00 for the conference and they provided soup and cold cut sandwiches for lunch ...give me a break
I often take the kids to the arcade and they have a blast. The machines are almost always functioning, and they often get new ones.
The rooms are a little on the smaller side. The beds are advertised as queen bed they also look smaller. Has a very good pool and fun area. Good place to stay with kids activity wise but rooms can be better.
Was here for a wedding event and it was wonderful. Food and service was excellent!
Loved all the history, each room named after a family from the area who was an original settler, with historical information on the family hanging in each hotel room. Very cool. Beautiful grounds, lot of flowers, just gorgeous
Took my 3 year old grandson to the arcade. We had a great time. And no more tokens. Its all done on a card. Pizza was awesome as well.
My husband and I stayed on 4/17/16, the guy that checked us in the hotel was very friendly as well as the other staff. The problem that we had was that there was bugs flying all over our room and by our bed, also there was hair in the shower before we even used it. The bathroom was very small and the bed not so comfortable. When we called the hotel desk to complain about the bugs all the lady said was that it was unfortunate and maybe they could spray some bug spray but who wants to smell bug spray in the room that they're sleeping in. My husband decided to call back and they said we suppose we could switch the room so at 11 pm we were lugging all our stuff to a different room. It was just the way that the situation was handled and when paying $130 on a Sunday to stay there I would expect that they would accommodate us with something but nothing was done.
Thus hotel is great for families and the city is very friendly too.
Ss much as i use to love this place, I am very upset with how their customer service is. This will be our last stay!
Everything is conveniently located in the building food games and pools the kids had a blast
The Bavarian Inn was a seamless experience from start to finish. Clean and updated yet timeless in decor, each room focuses on one German family's story and displays photos and memorabilia showing a timeline of multiple generations. The rest of the hotel has something to offer guests of every age and taste, from a variety of restaurants, entertainment, numerous pools/hot tubs, games, and gift shops, one could spend their entire trip just in the hotel and enjoy a one-of-a-kind experience. The grounds are also beautifully maintained.
Love this hotel. It has everything so you never have to leave! Staff is always friendly and this place is huge. Tons of pools, mini golf indoors, karaoke lounge with great food, other restaurants and a few different shops located in building. My kids love this place and it's well worth the money!
