Fort Belvoir Commissary Review

Fabulous! Found everything I needed and more. Everyone extremely helpful. Definatly will be going back.

Always a treat to shop at the commissary. Good selection, prices and a clean facility.

Very clean.
The meat department was well stocked. The employees were very helpful and friendly.

Good place to shop. Prices are mixed but most of the prices on meats will beat prices in the area.

This is the best commissary in the DC area. Amazingly fresh produce. Great meat selection, and large seafood selection. The layout of this commissary make sense unlike some others. Also, the large selection of ethnic foods is amazing.

Everything we needed was there. Went later, so the lines weren't terrible.

Great alternative to local grocery stores in the area. We visited it shortly after opening on a Sunday and found the store very clean and well stocked. Worth a trip if you like to save a few dollars.

Does not have the best customer service and the employees are not knowledgeable. This last visit, the shelves were bare and they were more concerned with stocking the Valentine's displays. They left their carts in the middle of the aisle and would get upset when customers wanted to get by.

Excellent international food options and unbeatable prices.

They carry a large selection of natural, local, and international brands. I am impressed with the choices.

Good meeting place for the community. Very good selection of economy franchises. Parking a bit congested and could be re-spaced for more room. Facilities are modernized.

Commissary is nice. My Complaint belongs to the MEAT DEPARTMENT. how many time does 1 or more of them need to be extremely rude for something to be done. PEOPLE are allowed to make comments about the meat rising in price ( especially if they haven't been shopping in a while ) without being degraded infront of other people and stared at while being rudely talked about with another worker or customer. This has now happened TWICE. And quite frankly its 2x too many. Worst department in the commissary,.

Well stocked, great crew, ample parking and very clean. The model commisary.

Oh the variety and the prices. I'm going to miss it when we move.

Great prices, of course. Parking is pretty good, even shady spots. The selection of items is large. The deli is well stocked and works pretty well. The made-on-site sushi is excellent, I've eaten that for 3 years and always enjoyed it.

Fruit and vegetable selection is horrible. Workers are friendly. Do not like the bag boy setup. New commissary should be opening soon

Great new facility, lines move quick, prices aren't really below surrounding grocery stores, however, and are often times more expensive. If you live on base or very close by it's a consideration but certainly not worth driving out of your way to find the commissary deals of yesteryear

They have generic products now which is very new. Clean bathrooms and nice employees that are extremely helpful!

Selection was great. Personnel were helpful and courteous.

Inexpensive and convenient. Avoid it on Sundays if you can. (Way too crowded)

Great selection, but today the commissary was so cold. I was miserable and rushed through very quickly just to get out of there.

This commissary is ok at best. They have tendency to run out of items fairly quickly and slow to restock. Staff can be helpful if you happen to ask the right person. Selection is not to bad! And the sushi is always good.

Great prices, bit this place is always packed. For first thing in the morning or about an hour before closing.

One of the best and newest commissary's I have ever been to.

Great commissary. Just remodeled, lots of variety, very large, plenty of registers open during busy hours. Prices are definitely "worth the trip" as they say over civilian area grocery stores. Pretty decent deli/bakery, but nothing too outstanding or special in that aspect. Produce and meat were excellent quality. Very happy, will definitely be making the drive unlike other bases we've been to. We just moved to the area and had to restock all our pantry staples in addition to about two weeks of groceries. $470 for two carts worth, including high priced items like meat, clothes washing soap, etc.

Always busy, midweek or weekend does not matter. Great selection, and very friendly and professional cashiers.

Bright, spacious new facility. Takes time to learn where items are compared to the old commissary but this is the best I've seen. Plenty of parking and the Exchange is right next door. They are just bringing in low priced generic brands. Full service deli, grab and go also.

Friendly staff, good prices and selection. Get there early on the weekend for best selection on vegetables.

We practically had the place to ourselves tonight. Best times to shop are holidays and pandemics.

The famous Fort Belvoir Commisary is now going out of business and being replaced with a new location.

Fast, efficient, well organized store with excellent customer service and a huge parking lot. Extremely wide variety of foods, particularly those for people with dietary restrictions or allergies.

Bought a roast that made us sick. Deli meats spoiled within a couple days.

Gets pretty crowded. Prices are way better than grocery stores in the surrounding area. Hopefully the new commissary will open soon!

Always great prices and they have most other non grocery items in stock you need without going to a second location. I have had my cart taken with my purse and groceries in it while looking on a shelf 2 times now that took over 45 min to get back with no real help from staff even though they acted concerned.

Generally good, although getting used to the new building takes time. However, when I bought a case of Perrier bottled water, EACH bottle had to be scanned rather than just scanning the unopened box. Can you imagine the chaos during a busy shopping day if 3 people bought this product. Get serious! This was not the procedure 4 months ago in the old store; what's the problem?

I have not been since they remodeled, so it was a really nice surprise to walk in and see everything.
