Forest Bluff School is a premier Montessori school located on the North Shore of Chicago. We are proud to be the only fully AMI Accredited Montessori School in the area, serving families with children from birth through 8th grade. Our mission is to provide an exceptional education that fosters independence, creativity, and critical thinking skills in our students.
At Forest Bluff School, we believe that every child has unique talents and abilities that should be nurtured and developed. Our experienced teachers create a supportive learning environment where children can explore their interests and develop their full potential. We offer a comprehensive curriculum that includes language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, art, music, physical education and foreign language instruction.
Our classrooms are designed to promote independent learning and exploration. Children work at their own pace with materials that are specifically designed to meet their individual needs. Our teachers act as guides rather than lecturers or disciplinarians; they observe each child's progress closely and provide guidance when needed.
We believe in fostering a strong sense of community within our school. Parents are encouraged to participate in school activities such as parent-teacher conferences, classroom observations and volunteer opportunities. We also offer parent education programs throughout the year so parents can learn more about Montessori philosophy and how it benefits their child's development.
Our campus is situated on five acres of beautiful wooded land which provides ample opportunities for outdoor exploration and playtime for our students. We have several playgrounds equipped with age-appropriate equipment for different age groups as well as nature trails where children can explore the natural world around them.
In addition to our regular academic program during the school year (September through June), we also offer summer camps for children ages 3-12 years old during July-August months which include various activities like swimming lessons at nearby pool facilities or field trips to local museums and parks.
