This is my favorite dining court at Purdue. They have a large selection of great foods. They have really good pizza here and burgers here almost everyday. This is a good choice for picky and non-picky eaters. There s a lot of seating here but sometimes there might not be enough on the first level so there s a second level open sometimes.

For college dining court food, it's pretty darn good. Just wish they would label everything properly and consistently. Also sometimes the dishes are cooked entirely different. And on some occasions they make you use all disposable tableware.

I'd advise you all to skip on the meal plan. I've been to Purdue dining and multiple times gotten food poisoning, so have people I know.

Further, today is finals week, I live in Hawkins (really far from dining, on the other side of campus) and went to Ford Dining and realized I'd forgotten my card. No problem, right? I know my ID#.

Nope. Wouldn't allow me in. A friend offered to swipe for me and they said no.

If you'd like to starve during exam weeks for silly mistakes, go ahead and get a meal plan.

The food is decent food, but always lacking in quality. I suppose being a senior has bias since I've been eating the food for 3 years now, but let's just say I always search for an alternative to eating here. I also worked here, and their food prep and cleanliness is top quality, so at least they have that going for them.

Welcome to Ford Dining court where mediocre has never felt so good. Our motto is "if we dont meet your expectations, lower your standards." We pretend our food is "chef inspired," when in reality our pizza crust is burnt to a crisp, our rice is undercooked, and our state-of-the-art Boiler-Q is full of lies and disappointment. Go to Wiley.

Decent dining hall but definitely my favorite atmosphere. I love the seating options that Ford has. They have the best salad bar on campus, hard serve ice cream and fresh made pizzas. I really wish they'd fix the wi-fi there though.

When something new or different is available it is an excellent choice. Breakfast is tasteless however and the eggs tasted like paste. Definitely look at the menu before choosing to go here that day.

Really good food - and they've got something for everyone! Everyone seems to think their pizza is something special... uh, I don't know about that, but they're STIRFRYS are delicious! I also like the layout and it's pretty clean. There is also an upper seating area if the bottom half is full so you can always find a seat (especially if you have a group of people). Occasionally they list things on their online menu that they are not actually serving that day, but it's usually minor stuff.

Amazing ambience and socializing spot, however the food is rather mediocre. Way too repetitive and limited especially for vegans/vegetarians. Also the to go dining option is way too low bang for buck.

The staff and students at Purdue have an EXCELLENT place to eat! Great food, nice people and several types of food to choose.

Tell them I sent you and get 25% off (no, all you'll get is a weird look).

This is the Purdue University dining location for visiting freshman and parents. Presents a variety of foods, is nice and clean. Great desserts section. But food cooked in volume can only be made to taste moderately good. Hence, only 3 stars out of 5.

A lot of selections for a dorm dinning court. However, it's still a dining court, so don't expect high end food. They don't have trays available, which makes it a little inconvenient to carry the food around.

First thing you should know, the eggs suck. They're palatable if you salt and pepper them and add ketchup or hot sauce to your preference.

Moving on, the food is quite hit or miss, but thanks to the ever present pizza, salad, and sandwich bars, you'll probably never go without something worth eating.

Here are the best things they server here in my opinion: Anything Mexican, Pasta, Tikka Masala, General Tao's, Thai Chicken Basil, and the Spicy Fried Chicken Breast.

Also, if you have no friends like me, there's a couple of great eating bars where you can sit alone and eat without looking like a loser or occupying an entire table.

Overall, if you're dorm or apartment is close to Ford, you can't go wrong picking it.

Marsha in the "On the go!" portion of this dining court is a no go for me. I tried to cash in my "on the go!" meal swipes at the end of the week. Combining my meal swipes with my roommate, we had a total of 64 items we could get. We pay a lot for this meal plan, so we went and what did we do? That's right. We picked out 64 items. We go to check out and 1. Marsha didn't believe that we had 64 items, why would I lie?
2. She made us put our food into piles and count out as there are a good 10 people behind us
3. When we were leaving she goes "don't do that again"
4. We will do this again because we deserve our 64 items at the end of each week
So thanks marsha for nothing

Once we found it the layout is excellent, the seat...

Once we found it the layout is excellent, the seating is plentiful, and the food options pretty awesome.

The next part is to rate the process of getting to this location.

I am a wheelchair user and am used to no access situations.

This wasn't completely the case. But, is darn close. For one thing no actual direct access ramps exist to reach the Uninion.

Now not that the college doesn't know this already. 2020 is the year no excuses will prevent the ADA from finding issues and giving a typical 60 day grace to show actual good effort to resolving violations.

I don't mean oh look we scheduled fund drives and activites to raise money for the eventual repair or addiction to fix violations. I mean, actual construction and work is well under way to making the needed violations go away.

The ADA can fine from $75,000 up to $300,000 per violation and can charge any amount even on first time violations.

If what I read is correct recently the ADA upped the lower limit from $75,000 and raised it in preparation for 2020 to $115,000 and if that isn't bad enough a second violation is $150,000 up to $300,000.

1994 the ADA made clear that all public accessible areas, businesses, schools, governmental property and any private property that the public accesses regularly will be made barrier free. To make accessibly for all people possible.

The best idea is to get rid of as many stairs as possible replace them with ramps. This solves many issues.

Less falls and tripping. With that less cost for the college to cover in insurance.

As well as making it so much easier for all people to access places equally.

I think Stone Hall just redid a massive stair project and what a waste. Could have added a wheelchair ramp easy as pie with the space and distance to the sidewalk it has.

I would love to be asked to come and work with whomever department and people that do the access design and show them ways to save tons of money. And get it done the right way without having tp dig up newly installed stairs.

Every new stair project needs to be looked at as a way to get rid of the stairs and use a single surface to meet needs.

Not just one door with a ramp, as if an emergency happens to block it, how does the wheelchair user exit safely?

Oh, and the ADA goes from passive to being an active department that goes out looking for any and all issues.

Did you know 1/4 inch of sidewalk or any surface is a tripping hazard and is considered an access violation. Consider all the concrete spaces and now how may areas did the ground settle or have or shift.

I see a solution you already use. Recycled tire rubber walkways. Especially over areas that are always seeming to move.

This provides a smooth surface that is flexible enough to move with the ground and terrian.

Also, please for the love of God, paint blue handicap access lines to lead wheelchair users the correct way to places.

Also put signs to tell what floor is what in elevators. And, use signs to in elevators to alert users in wheelchairs what button is for accesible spaces.

I was at the college for 5 hours and figured out how I would make it way easier for wheelchair users to get around.

A fellow named Steve I think he was the Superintendent or just super! Everyone knew him it was great. He finally helped us find the floor and the proper elevator to get around Union.

Unless you live life from a wheelchair you will not understand how the design and layout of things fails for people like me.

It would be awesome to get a full scholarship to study putting theory of accessibility into actual practice.

As it is now I could file with the ADA several vibrations I found. I could also file a lawsuit and would win it based on my struggles today to access a building.

Instead of any of that, cool your jets. Would you ever consider a 49 year old fully disabled student on full scholarship? I would study engineering and the actual use of those theories as in both sides of the coin. It would be about ergonomic design of spaces used by the public. Just a thought.
