Footscray Community Arts Centre Review

A refreshingly vibrant arts centre, with a constant flow of fascinating and refreshing exhibitions and performances. Only 4kms from central Melbourne, with amazing views of the city and a quality cafe/restaurant on site.

Was here for a friends wedding. Lovely day, and the reception was great also. Did get a bit warm, but beer was the cooler.

This is an amazing place to view an exhibition, learn a now medium or just have a quiet cuppa by the river. The Footscray community arts centre is truly a place for art in the west. Only a short stroll from Footscray station makes it an easy location to get to!

Gone to quite a few events and openings at FCAC and I have loved everything about it! Excellent programs, great space and always wonderful friendly staff.

It is a big store with a wide range of goods. The checkout is slow but I think this is normal for Spotlight stores

Just an awesome space for local artists in the west. Free events, workshops. Live music, installations and exhibitions. Educational and fun.

Lovely historic bluestone building with beautiful surrounds. Really great, natural amphitheatre area outside. Well maintained and cared for. A sweet little spot to have a picnic lunch (or a wedding, or some small music or theatre event) and explore. Right on the river too. Could access by boat, i believe.

Louis Theuma 18 year labor of love and flawless 'Manhattan 1952' deserved to win the Footscray Art Prize.

I went there for a theater show.
It was pretty good.

Beautiful space for holding intimate gatherings. Plenty of off street parking available as well.

Great space with accompanying cafe and river views. Hopefully more projects are advertised as the theatre has wonderful potential.

I am very happy this art space is at a such close proximity to where we live. It provides an amazing river side, the city skyline view, great bike path access as river walks. The space is great with exhibition, art studios and a friend cafe for weekend brunches. You can also make the Footscay community art centre part of your Footscray weekend day and walk to markets and other food locations from here.

Really nice place nestled in Footscray.Went to watch a play there recently and loved it.

Very hot in the basement theatre no AC. No staff to greet you and tell you where to go. You just have to sit on the floor as there was no chairs in the waiting area if your early.

It was great experience neeting with Jive the Poet from Brooklyn.

An awesome venue that has a great range of events, friendly staff, terrific facilities and a great place for artists and the community to come together.

Great programs for people with learning difficulties.

Brilliant facility and wonderful organisation. Made even better with the recent addition of Myrtle cafe. The school holiday programs are also excellent, inclusive, thoughtful and fun.

This is on the Maribyrnong river and is quite beautiful for a place in the West.

It's an amazing place. Lots of interesting events, artistic and literary workshops. There is an amazing river view and a large space that be used for picnics.

When we were there it was converted into a pretty decent cinema

Its a really nice place! You feel part of the community!! I've gone to see a theatrical play and a movie!! Really nice people that fight for aboriginal rights!

The best programming, operating and feeling arts institution in Melbourne (maybe Australia) in my opinion.

FCAC is such a fantastic place I'm so glad we have it as a cultural hub in Footscray/The West! Always welcoming friendly staff and always interesting and full of amazing things to see/do/experience! Couldn't recommend this place and it's events more!

After a festival they left so much rubbish-beer tins and plastic glasses overnight-beside a river. Not acceptable!

Wonderful place for kids and lots of fun.
Only problem there is on public toilet

We were there for Flow festival, what a great spot! Highly recommend. Will be following FCAC in the future to keep up with what's on.

This is one of those underrated arts spaces that's a must have for every community. The beautiful river front and the cute amphitheatre add to the appeal. The gallery and the exhibition space are well maintained and wonderfully curated.

Lovely arts precinct in the heart of the west. Go for a stroll along the river. Check out the Hop Nation brewery and Back Alley Sallys nearby for a drink.

A lovely spot just a few minutes away from Footscray station. You get an awesome panoramic view of the city from here, and can simply enjoy the well maintained gardens by the riverside or grab a bite and a coffee at the Cafe. A lovely spot for a picnic or a night out with friends
