Although we did visit on a Monday, we were disappointed at the cold reception we received. Good quality food and wine without a doubt, but a smile and a bit of friendly conversation also goes a long way to encouraging visitors to return. Something to improve on, perhaps.

Not impressed. Our two meals had fantastic creative descriptions on the menu, but didn't live up to them, not by a long shot. It was the worst of all our meals we had on our south west trip. Having eaten truffles in Croatia, We had a little expectation to try and find the same here. Their truffle butter was a let down too. Really missing the opportunity to do truffle dining well here..

Wine tasting was mechanical and we paid an extra $2 regardless of our booking for lunch. Lunch was adequate. Sous vide duck leg was tough but tasty, would benefit from longer in the sous vide. The berry jus was closer to a paste and overpowering. The truffle ice cream available at the counter was delicious. Not sure that we will pass this way again

Very disappointed with the meal. It was tasteless and overpriced. I spoke with other patrons leaving the same time as us who also said the same and could not taste any slight taste of truffle either and also disappointed. They like us had been several times in the past and loved it. Unfortunately not the case anymore. I have since spoken with management to be told that the truffle is sent to them frozen and outsourced. I would not recommend the experience.

Very disappointed with this place. Had high hopes of a great atmosphere and good food. Despite the good and friendly service, the food served had two problems; immensely overpriced and the elements of the dish were not thought through.

We ordered the truffle platter, pizza and pappardelle pasta.

The truffle platter had more salad than truffle and meat, which begs the question what was it doing there? It didn't complement the platter whatsoever and the platter didn't highlight truffle whatsoever. The meat used tasted as if it could be bought from coles, was cold and all thst was done was placed the dips, cheese etc across it. It did not look or taste like a $54.50 dish. The highlight of the platter was the truffle honey and the turkish bread.

The pasta was very plain and no one was able to taste the truffle. For $42.50 it fell way beyond standards. You can get better pasta dish for much less and add your own truffle oil/cream/ powder without spending that much and actually taste truffle.

The pizza was a big disappointment, the base looked like a frozen pizza base and the toppings were just scattered on with truffle and mushroom where you can only taste the cheese. For $21.50 and only 6 slices of pizza that wasn't woodfired and again lacking truffle, definitely not worth it.

Overall, the food is way overpriced and would definitely not recommend eating here. Their store is nice and they have good truffle oil and honey to purchase (you can get some at Victoria Park) but don't waste your money and 3 hr drive to dine here.

Hope they improve the food and dining atmosphere because the prices charged for food should leave customers feeling it was worth every cent.

Sorry, tried to give it the benefit of the doubt with so many poor reviews, but the food is totally overpriced - truffle or no truffle. It s good home cooked food at best, but with fine dining prices. The property however is gorgeous.

Very disappointed with the food at the Truffle and Wine Co. We ordered several items on the menu with truffles mentioned, and expected to enjoy a good taste of truffles in every dish. None of the items served had any truffle taste to it. There were some small black specks which appeared to be truffle shavings but could easily be other roasted herbs which had no flavour I could not tell the difference. If you were expecting large slices of truffle, or anything truffle, be prepared to be disappointed, especially after paying a premium for the food.

Thank you for our wonderful Truffle Hunt on Sunday. Fantastic morning unearthing truffles with the help of your "chocolate" truffle dog. :) What a great way to start the day. Very interesting information and yummy morning tea. Thoroughly recommend this experience!

Great products, but terrible service. I have purchased Truffle products a couple of time now, and who ever they use to ship the products are totally USELESS. My current order was placed 30/7. it is now 7/8, according to "SENDLE" the parcel arrived in SA on 3/8 & has not moved from the "DEPOT" it doesn't take 4 days to deliver once in Adelaide! POOR form. Extremely disappointing, perhaps thy can ship via another company with my next order. Here is hoping!

Despite the nice place and polite service, the expensive price cannot be justified. Ordered risotto, gnocchi and pizza. The risotto was cooked well in fact. It was creamy, not gluggy and smell nice. However, it was too salty. There was already too much salt in the rice and the parmesan cheese was making it so salty.

The gnocchi on the other hand was so bland. There was not enough flavour on the cream. The gnocchi itself was nice and silky to be fair. However, I couldn't feel any taste at all.

The pizza was so thin and the taste was average. I don't want to be so harsh but Domino pizza tastes even better than this one. The pizza only good on presentation.

Considering the expensive price and very small portion for each of the plate (average of almost $30 per plate, with the total spent of $89 for the three plates), I could not give any recommendation on the restaurant. Improvements are required in terms of taste and portions of the food.

I ordered the gnocchi, pizza and creme brulee which were all bland and presented with no imagination. If I'm paying fine dining prices, I would expect a so much more flavour and creativity. The lunch time service was also incredibly slow when the restaurant wasn't full. Overall, it was a disappointing dining experience at this place but I can see the potential - hopefully they improve as Manjimup is a wonderful little town and deserves more attention.

Waste of time - big disappointment. We travelled here excited to go on a tour and learn about truffles. All we could do was look at a video about the business. No truffles on display or for sale or tours available. Nobody knowledgeable about truffles. The girl at the counter for wine tasting was bored and unhelpful. Website mentioned tours but didn't say they are only on weekends. Don't bother.

Truffle and Wine Co. - What a fantastic place this is - set amongst 53 acres of Jarrah and Karri trees .
The Black Winter Truffles known the world over as a rare delicacy and also known as Black Gold, were shown to us in a small tub and there was about $2,500 dollars worth in there. The oak and hazelnut trees on the property were first inoculated in 1997 and the owners had to wait 6 years for the first truffle crop to be discovered. That is some faith in their investment. They initially produced 600kg and now produce over 5,000kg over 60% of the total produced by Australia. They were also the first company to produce Black Truffles in Australia. They use dogs to find the truffles and they are labradors, because they are motivated by food no surprises there then.
We had tastings of various wines and were told so much by a really informative young lady, which of course led to some wonderful purchases for our friends, lots of wine, and for us some liqueur truffle wine OMG it is just lush! We are bound by luggage weights and restrictions or it would have been a lot more such are the bargains to be had.

We came with high expectation after looking @ the website. We were ready to spend money for good food and experience for our new year lunch.

First impression. Our designated waitress certainly didn t seem to want to be there that day.

We ordered the truffle delight ($50) and took the recommended wine ($18 for 3x50ml sample size basically). We received half a plate of salad (cost $1), 3 sips of wine, thin slices of old tastes bread placed in a tiny bowl, miniature size of cream cheese/dips, and other tiny bit and pieces... sprinkled with ant size grated truffles which we could barely taste.

Kids margarita pizza and chips seemed cheaply made & unattractive.

I ordered a long Macchiato to give the restaurant another chance. Coffee tasted cheap and burnt.

I couldnt understand how a business could be run with misleading advertising and empty promises.

We feel cheated and ripped off...Absolutely lack positive customer experience.

We looked forward to a delicious truffle infused lunch but were bitterly disappointed. Food is massively over priced for what is on offer.
The venison with truffle mash: the venison was ok but not freshly cooked. But then the mash- it was clearly taken out of the fridge and reheated. Dry, solid and could be picked up with a fork in its entirety! This is unacceptable at $48! The waitress admitted that it was pre-prepared and simply retreated from the fridge, and without any apology we got a I ll let the chef know . Not good enough.
The tasting plate had similar issues - the mushrooms came straight from the can, so did the roasted capsicum, apparently.
Needless to say that they happily took our money and didn t offer a discount due to the sub-standard food presented.

Deb was the host and she was really nice. Go for the truffle hunting tour during the truffle season. You might get a nice prize for "discovering" the biggest truffle or the largest cluster of truffles. Enjoyed my time with the hunting dogs! Restaurant food was excellent too!
