Fontana Park Hotel Review

Very modern and efficient design, comfortable, but rooms on the small side for a couple spending more than one night.

Great hotel, very modern style, maybe a bit far from downtown.

Nice modern 4 star hotel by Fontana Park. Quite location on mostly residential neighborhood but walking distance to downtown & Saldanha district.

Modern style and comfortable rooms. Not many resteraunts close by but only a short taxi ride to the city center.

A unique experience, they made us feel right at home! Thanks to all the staff who took care of us in every detail. Since our birthdays made us find a cake and a bottle of wine in our room. A truly appreciated gesture and to end the morning at breakfast another cake is the greeting song.
The staff at the reception explained to us in detail how to get the best out of the city, while in the evening the restaurant boys explained all the dishes to us and advised them in the right way. The chef showed great interest if the dishes were appreciated with discretion and kindness. The breakfast buffet varies and with great service. Surely we will return for an immense thank you in the meantime. It was a super birthday

Good location, good breakfast. Laundry takes longer than expected and the quality of the hotel in hallway and rooms is worse than expected

I feeling like stay in prisoner, too dark, feeling like squeezed, my boyfriend is the Hilton mumber. We have't expecting this dubbel paid on his card, they said them gonna give money back, now we still stay in hotel, It should't happened with Hilton name.

This room I had was quite noisy , from time to time the structure would emitting mono noise. So disturbing...... woke me up couple times during night time.

And as soon as you open curtains , the adjacent people along the side road can have a very good view inside the room(room is on 2nd floor with french windows)

And, it took us roughly 40 mins to access to front desk due to group chkin - the front desk chk passport and issue rooms key one by one to tour group members. I never saw that in major hotel before - except in China. And spend another hour to finally have our keys.

Lovely hotel with good breakfast and a well stocked Bar.We loved it.

Had to visit this hotel because of a delayed flight. Good hotel, good food. Located in the center not far from the airport.

We have been in a group of 10 people traveling through Europe for 12 days and from the hotels we stayed in between Rome, Paris and Lisbon this is without a doubt the best. The courtesy of the staff and the structure of the hotel are incredible. I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Lisbon and on the next trip we will certainly stay there again. Congratulations to all the staff at this beautiful hotel that has transformed our accommodation into wonderful days.

Good rooms. The only issue was that the lifts were not working properly. Leading to wait times to get to your room.

Highly overpriced. No atmosphere, awful rooms with large windows in bathrooms. I had to agree with my partner who would like when to use the toilet in order to have a little bit of privacy... scary dark corridor and very small lifts.

Very disappointed with our stay. The bathroom was made of glass and gave no privacy, the entire hotel hotel was very dark and with insufficient lighting we were always struggling to see. The breakfast was varied, but none of it tasted good.

Hotel with a modern feel. Our room was spacious with air con and bed really big/comfortable, even the pillows were decent. The bathroom does take a little adjustment but at least we had a glass door that either closes off the bathroom or toilet area. Also the glass wall by the bath shower is part see through (half way - top) but gives you the opportunity to watch TV while you shower.
Good selection at breakfast and staff friendly.

Pro: the staff is super friendly. Great breakfast buffet with guitarists. We got a good price but not a standard.
Cons:
- I don't think the location is good, and the corner is not at all nice (better book something in the center).
- Walls are extremely thin.
- The bathroom has only glass walls (I'll never understand the advantages of that). Has the disadvantage that you can see everything and hear everything.
- we had the view to the rear (away from the street), there the light was on continuously on the roof that was in the visible range. I like the sunlight in the morning, but it kept the glare down throughout
- Our hair dryer was completely dirty (traces of years of use, different people). A room like this costs 100-150 per night and a hair dryer maybe 50 . Why don't you buy a new one regularly?
- important for me, but a matter of taste: you shower in the bathtub, which has an extremely small shower head (some might describe it as stylish). However, I am a fan of rain showers. The area from which the water comes is max. The size of a fist.

The 3 stars mainly because of the staff, who ensure a good atmosphere

Rooms were modern and clean. The help desk had no trouble answering my questions and provided a very helpful personal map to see the most of Lisbon.

Good location with easy access from the airport on the metro.

Great staff - can't do enough for you. Pleasant bar with outdoor seating and excellent cocktails.

Not particularly keen on the black colour scheme in the rooms but it doesn't detract from what is overall a well run property.

For a hotel in the center of a cosmopolitan city like Lisbon has a very different design from the ususal, dark neutral colors but with ideal luminosity, which gives it a very sophisticated look, friendly staff.

Nice modern hotel. Went there only for a meeting and facilities looked good, table service also good. Parking can be difficult to find.

The location, modernism, pleasant and welcoming staff
The only problem I left at the reception of the postcards for sending to the post office had been assured me that the necessary would be done unfortunately as of today I have not received anything (stay in August 2018)

The hotel is located really well in walking distance from the Metro. It's also a nice walk from the hotel to Lisbon's historic neighborhoods of about 2km. That being said, whoever designed the interior of this hotel clearly never had to live here.

In the room the walls are painted black and the toilet is built from see through glass walls, also black. In short it is difficult to see anything without turning on all the lights. The glass walls means that sound travel through the room, i.e. what ever happens in the washroom the other person in the room is going to hear (if not see). Also, it's not possible to regulate the velocity and temperature of the shower individually. This means that you get water all over the bathroom when taking a shower and it is not possible to close off the shower from the rest of the bathroom.

The bed and pillows are good, standard Hilton. For some odd reason, all the power outlets (of which there are too few) are located only on one side of the bed.

Fit and finish in general is not on point, but this is common for Hilton chain hotels.

Comfy, good breakfast, ok location

Good firm mattress and a great black out curtain to help with the jet lag. Decore was a bit dark.

Breakfast was ok. Good coffee and pastries. Bacon and eggs were nothing special. Excellent creamy plain yogurt.

It's an easy 1/2 hour walk to the restaurant and bars by the water if your in good shape. If not, the metro is easy to use and a 5 minutes walk away. Not too much near by though.

Chice room, friendly staff, good location, breakfast plentiful. A star deduction for lack of cleanliness (strange hair around bathroom, crumbs on the carpet throughout the stay, ...)

Staff is super nice and goes out of their way to make your stay great

Stayed 2 nights here. First night in a room in the first floor facing the main road, very, very noisy, literraly felt like people were walking in the same room as you - impossible to sleep after 630 am. Second night moved to a room not facing the main road, was great in terms of noise level, unfortunately there was a water leak coming from the ceeling. I guess you just can't win at DoubleTree by Hilton Lisbon.

We arrived about 11 am but rooms not ready. That's ok...understandable. Went back a bit later in the day and rooms were ready. On check in, I asked for an upgrade and was told they upgraded me to a higher floor (floor four out of seven). Upgraded to a room with a view of a street and construction awning across the street! See image attached of my view as a Diamond member, this is my upgrade? I don t consider this to be an upgrade and it annoys me when I m told I get an upgraded room that is not really an upgrade.

Rooms were very modern with a bed and a cement shelf at the end of it. No drawer space at all...had to spread everything out on the cement shelf when I unpacked. That s ok the room was quite large by European standards.

Breakfast is perhaps one of the worst breakfasts I have ever had in a hotel. There were some sliced meats and cheeses, bread, and fruit for the cold part. Hot was a small selection of powdered eggs and a number of meats. I don't eat meat, so had very limited options. I also saw someone else carrying an omelet, but I was never offered one it looked like they were cooked to order, but not offered to everyone. For a European hotel, this breakfast was definitely sub-par. Even worse that most US hotels. I even ended up skipping breakfast entirely the second day when we went to the airport and just ate at the airport.

That said, the location was pretty good. A bit away from the older part of town, but that meant it was relatively quiet. Easy access to the subway in a couple blocks and if you like to walk, it was about a 20-30 minute walk to the waterfront, all downhill. The neighborhood is quiet and nice with lots of restaurants within a short walk.

Overall impressions of this hotel are quite poor. I went out of my way to stay here (it was the only Hilton property in Liston) and there were better options in terms of location at much lower prices than the $150 / night I spent. While the location was pretty good, the breakfast food selection was pretty bad, rooms were pretty good, but the staff was very mixed. I guess what really irks me is that I was lied to by the front desk on check in and told I got an upgrade and was lied to about the availability of better rooms. This hotel was definitely not worth the money spent...there are better rooms in nicer hotels at lower prices. The reason I stayed here was to remain loyal to the Hilton brand of hotels. A mistake I will not make again the next time I travel to Lisbon.

You have to like the dark, almost black decor and the depri-style of the hotel. The rooms are small, spartan and the bathroom is rather difficult. So the designer must have thought something when he planned it? I have no idea. For me it's nothing. But: great staff, great restaurant, great breakfast.

Good location in the business district. Reasonable walk to the old town and a short stroll the subway stations if that is more your thing.

The rooms were clean and quite. In addition, the staff at the desk were helpful and professional. We arrived early, but were very tired from our trip. They allowed us to chexk in early and rest. Nice job!

Good hotel but the location isn't great. Quite far from the metro.

Visited for a congress. Not up to the standard of a Hilton. Very friendly reception staff. Room cleaning done in 7 minutes (I was present). No floor cleaning ... used glasses not washed :( I had to call the person back to do it. After leaving I forgot a couple of unimportant things and only got an answer to my email after putting a comment on their page FB. I waited another week to get another one from the coordination by the Houskeeping Manager.
No, I don't recommend it.

Designer hotel (used to be a steel factory) with a polarising black/dark theme which might not be to everybody's taste, however we found it to be interesting. Very clean rooms and clean hotel overall, due to COVID regulations the breakfast was a la carte and not a buffet, however staff was lovely, attentive, the quality of the pastries and cheeses and presentation was wonderful.

He is a Hilton and as such I usually have certain expectations around the world. Being a European capital, I compared the others seen in recent years (Vienna, Prague, etc.) and I was a little disappointed. Nice room, clean but a little small. On our arrival there were no bathrobes and slippers. There is neither a lounge nor a beautiful view, although it is not on the outskirts the surroundings are not the most suggestive. There are two metro stops close enough (Saldanha yellow metro and Anjos green metro). For breakfast we have always queued (at different times) although very varied and plentiful. Polite and friendly staff.

A very nice hotel for a fair price. The rooms are spacious and well furnished. The breakfast buffet is very extensive, fresh and tasty. The hotel is close to two metro stations, the sightseeing bus stops right in front of the entrance. I'm really excited about the nature of the staff. Always friendly and always helpful, they made this stay in Lisbon a great experience! At any time again

Rooms are spacious, balconies are nice, hotel bar had friendly staff and a nice atrium with a water wall.

Clean & nice location hotel. I stayed few days and it was very good experience. Front desk staffs was greeting very nicely and geve us warm chocolate cookies. Room condition was pretty good. Breakfast also decent. Love hilton.

Hotel staff was Extremely accommodating. Free parking, free breakfast that was excellent and close to everything. Only gripe was bathroom in room had a see thru glass into the shower and toilet. Kind of strange for travelers who aren't a couple.

The room has excellent linen, a comfortable very wide bed.

Nice hotel with a boutique hotel feel, very clean with good facilities. The staff are all very friendly and extremely helpful especially Joana Pereira and Martinha Ries who helped me organise some birthday cupcakes last minute for a client.

Black internal design of everything and everywhere in the week began to strain, Breakfast corresponds to a 4+ star, WiFi is excellent, bus stop # 6 of the Yellow Bus bus 3 meters from the hotel, the Staff itself is kind and willing to help with any questions. I will not return again.
