I was a formal patient at this location and my experience was the most shocking and unfair.
Some staff was really rude and they won t try to accommodate you.
The food was ok, but sometimes I felt like I was eating jail food.
When I moved to residential house the pictures online don t show that the rooms look like a cheap motel, they didn t even have closet doors they re curtains.
They took us to Publix to get our food and was very expensive to go there so we were short on food because of the of shopping.
Wendy was my therapist and in a month and a half that I was there I NEVER had a face to face therapy session, including the fact that she looks like she s on drugs.
She never had time for her patients and her schedule was at late afternoon for weird reason.
Even thou she knew I was planning my discharge date she didn t talked to me and she was there the night before so I end up leaving against medical advice (AMA).
All the money we spend to be there should cover patients expectations.
Oh and by the way the confused my meds I almost took someone else!
I hope that they don t erase my review.

This place is a rip off!!! All they care about is how they can charge your insurance. They sent me a bill for over 3k in co payments, how is someone just trying to get their life back together going to pay that! Turns your family against you and forces you into a halfway house. This place is a well oiled machine that know all the angles to rip off you and your insurance. I've never been more disrespected before in my life by the staff. There's much better places out there. This one needs to be investigated. Stay away!

I don't think i'd be here today without florida House. Dr nelson, titus, and so many of the techs were so important to helping me complete the program - especially when I wanted to give up and leave. But I made it through and finished the program and continue working it every day. If you need help - go to FHE.

I was very afraid when I got to the Florida House. I was skeptical. The staff during my intake was very professional. I did my detox at home, so I didn't do it at The Florida House. My DOC was Xanax. They do a taper detox with Valium. It's very effective from what I heard from other patients. The staff is there to help you make the transition. I also got to know other people in my exact situation. I experienced no judgement from staff. I felt comfortable. I also was glad to get into group therapy and start to figure out what my issues were. The therapists were ALL fabulous. I have zero complaints about anyone. I transferred across the street to an apartment with 3 roommates. We all worked together to help each other. Every day there is a routine and makes you feel safe. The brain part of my rehab was SO interesting. I liked doing it and I believe it works well. Every activity is designed to help you. No question. I was there for 2 months. Still clean since Jan 12th, 2017.

FHE genuinely saved my life. I can t say enough good things about how they treated me and my family. After many attempts at detoxes all over fhe health made a change that has stuck with me. I cannot recommend enough that you go here and see what they can do. They gave me the strong beginnings that I needed. The amenities were very nice, it was never anything but comfortable while I was there. There will always be some who complain that there was a facility they were at before had better food or nicer beds. But, they ended up back in a treatment center, so it couldn t have been that good!. I did my 45 days in residential, then stepped down to outpatient, keeping in touch with all the same therapists along the way. Some centers will make you feel like you re being handed off from one machine to another, that was not the case here. Even while in sober living I remained in contact with the same group I went through my residential treatment with and everyone knew me. I really don t think you ll find a better treatment center than FHE.

I currently work at the Florida House and to see how much they care for the patients and families is astounding. I am so happy to have the opportunity to aid in the love they provide to every addict and family member. They don't promise to cure everyone but they promise to be there thru and thru. FH is committed to passion, truth, ethnics, and a new start. As a corporate employee I get a chance to see behind the scenes and what I see is beautiful hearts and love. Patients and rebuilding families are most the important thing to the FH. You will see and feel that as soon as your pick up the phone and call.

I was on the mental health side of FHE , the techs and counselors were great . You hardly saw a doctor for more than a minute. Treatment did not help, keep looking and reading reviews.

We found Florida house experience (FHE) after unsuccessfully sending a loved one to several treatment centers (more like flop houses). He was living couch-to-couch, stealing, basically homeless. Its been a couple years now and he is completely different. Hell tell you how hard it was and still is, but I think we owe it to finding the right place to get him started.

It is amazing. Staff and Clinician's have treated me with Respect and care, With my family and I. Everyone is amazing so many people there to help and guide you along your journey. I will recommend Treatment and care here to anyone in need , If you or someone you love need help. Reach out here to Flordia House.

The buildings and staff are nice. I was at the Deerfield detox and stayed residential.

I went to The Florida House Experience in October of 2015 to get help for my drug and alcohol addiction. It was my first experience at a treatment center so I did not know what to expect. I have to say that if it was not for The Florida House my life would not be the same as it is today. The staff were absolutely wonderful. They treated me with respect and dignity. I was given the tools and the knowledge to start my journey of recovery. The therapists were extremely professional and I believe the best around. I am still sober two years later and I owe a huge part of it to the Florida House. God forbid that if one of my friends or family needed treatment the Florida House is the only place I would send them. I wish I had gone here years sooner because I could have saved myself and my family alot of pain and suffering. After I left treatment the Florida House has always been there for me with an amazing alumni program that is made to keep you connected with the recovery community. It is run by Molly Lauroesch, Meg Mckenna, and Dan Wittler who are amazing and care so much for the alumni. They have a weekly meeting wednesday nights that keeps us in touch and on the right path. Thank you Florida House for everything that you do I will always be indebted to you.

I attended Florida House almost 3 years ago (feb 2012). It was the 5th treatment center I had attended. I can truly say today that without the incredible staff at the Florida House (top to bottom) I would not be where I am today. The Florida House made me feel at home even though I was 1200 miles away from where I lived. I now call South Florida home and know that no matter what I can continue to rely on the Florida House for continued support. I would highly recommend this environment to anyone struggling with addiction or alcoholism.

I was nervous about going to treatment during the pandemic, but FHE made me feel very safe; The regular temperature checks and social distancing really made me feel comfortable and at ease; I would recommend this place to anyone.

The Sober Skills Program offered through the Florida House Experience taught me how live life both sober and happy. The blessed life that I cherish today is a direct result of the guidance and care that I received from the FHE. I highly recommend this program to those struggling with substance abuse.

Let me start out by saying that there are different stages of treatment at FHE. The first one is residential, which is meant to stabilize you. It drove me a little bit crazy because I felt like I was locked down. However the staff there, especially Tammy, do an exceptional job and go above and beyond to make the best of your stay. The reason I am only giving one star is the next stage(php). I am currently staying in the 6 story apartments, which is where you stay when you are in PHP,IOP,and OP. Some of the techs here do a great job at trying their best to meet your needs,despite having close to a 1 to 20 tech to client ratio. But most are unapproachable, confrontational, and just straight up rude(especially corrin and jessi).They act like correctional officers instead of counselors. It sets an extremely negative vibe for the whole facility, and I am definitely not the only one here who thinks this. I understand that their jobs are stressful but taking their anger out on clients is definitely not the solution. Me and other clients that are currently here have gotten comments such as "that's not my problem" and "well I've got better things to do". I will most definitely be going to IOP elsewhere. It's a shame because the therapy groups and medical staff have actually helped me in ways that many other facilities have not been able to. But the living situation is far from the bare minimum, and makes it extremely difficult for me to continue making progress.
Also, this is a repost because FHE recently took a bunch of reviews(including mine) off its page.

I am an employee at the Florida House Experience, I have never worked at a company that I have more confidence in. I believe, whole heartedly, that the Florida House Experience provides the best treatment for Addiction and Alcoholism in the country.

Some people don't realize that the reason patients don't use the phone for a while and when they do, it's for 10 minutes because talking to the outside world will distract them from their recovery, which is what they're there for. Also, the strict rules are made and enforced to put balance and responsibility back into your day, which is something almost every addict lasts. This is the absolute best rehab someone will EVER go to....

At Florida House I have experienced how I can live a whole new life, free of addiction. The doctor's, therapists and staff truly care about you. The process from Detox through Intensive Outpatient Program is amongst the best! I found the Family Week one of the best experiences of my life. I also highly recommend the Sober Skills program, for men who truly want to learn how to live in recovery. You will find everything you need at Florida House Experience; to not only be sober, but learn what it is to live happy, joyous and free of all addiction and find recovery!

I would have to say - the Florida House Detox Center may well be one of the best in the country. The "Experience" or residential treatment is not. I was kind of railroaded into going into the residential treatment - I had requested outpatient treatment as I lived locally and still had to run my business. I was told I could meet with my husband and he could help run my business. Once I arrived - I was introduced to a therapist that was rude - condescending - and did not seem to have a clue. He also lied to me and my husband. As did the intake person at Florida House. All they want to do is get as much money from you as they can. The residential program is geared toward young women and is more like a sorority. The lodging was intolerable. The picture they paint on their website is misleading at best. I had to leave. They also would not let me retrieve my goods - but brought them down to me. And I was not allowed to go through them - and clothing items were missing as well as paperwork - blow dryer - etc. I would not recommend it.

I will NEVER trust another therapist again. This place destroyed that.

Florida House Experience not only saved my life but has changed my life. It was my first detox and treatment, I completed the program and I have stayed sober ever since! It was always a painful struggle trying to quit my addiction and I was one of those people that never thought I could stop using and stay sober. I was hopeless. It was Florida House that showed me I was worth something. They NEVER EVER gave up on me. All of the staff was loving and caring and gave me the stepping stones in order to better my life. I will never be able to thank Florida House enough for saving my life, they showed me love until I learned to love myself.

The medical team was just outstanding! I got to meet with Dr Julia as well as Kim, the nutritionist, on several occasions when I was only there for 2 weeks. I definitely feel that I received the 1:1 attention and care that I needed. Besides the medical staff, the techs on the detox side were very helpful and approachable. They were a pleasure to be around. Overall, I had a nice experience and received the help that I needed.

Horrible...they kicked my 19 year old son out on the street when he was trying to look for a sober living place on his phone. He was told he had to give up his phone or leave.. when he asked why they said it was a "consequence".. consequence of what?? Trying to plan your future! The therapist was MIA and when my son asked to talk to her, she told him she was busy. Do NOT send your loved ones here. All they care about is your money and keeping your loved one there until the insurance runs out.

Florida House Experience has saved my life !!! They are an excellent team of doctors and staff that truly care !! Neuro team is the best and so is my therapist each one of them !! Thanks to my husband for helping me to get this help I have needed for 17 years .Thanks to my family and friends for such a great support system .My son Chad is going to have his mother back !! I am truly a different person and I love myself .No life won't be easy but It never really was .I have more to work on and I am excited to see what God has in store for me . I LOVE FLORIDA HOUSE EXPERIENCE!!

I think Florida house legit saved my life. I was terrified of detox because of the experiences I had trying to quit on my own. Without their medical team I m not sure I could have followed through. From their techs to their directors, I felt everyone was invested and cared about how my treatment went. I m still in touch with the alumni team and look forward to seeing them again in person once this is all done!

This place is in a WORLD CLASS in everything.

I was there back when hurricane sandy hit. My experience was great. They really help you learn how to deal with your addictions. The staff is very friendly and helpful the counselors are amazing. If you are truly serious about getting your life back i would highly recommend going to THE FLORIDA HOUSE EXPERIENCE.

Truly an amazing group of people who do everything they can to give their clients a fresh start. I commend the organization as a whole for giving so much back to the community. I would highly recommend FHE to anyone in need of substance abuse help.

The Florida house experience is a top-notch facility ready to care for all your behavioral Health needs and the first responders program is absolutely an awesome experience that saved my life.

FHE has gone above and beyond for my family. Their therapists are wonderful.

I spent a month in February here. Starting at detox. Then I went to the residential facility and briefly in outpatient. The insurance covered most of my stay and they have not been aggressive about payments. The facility, grounds and staff were wonderful. I needed the insulated environment to get on my feet. It takes time, but I think I'm coming into my own again and getting my life back.

My experience at Florida House for PHP and then their Sober Skills program was a life changer for me. In 15 days, I will have 3 years clean & sober. I didn't always (read rarely) understand their directions and motives but I listened and followed instructions - It worked! I couldn't be more grateful for the time I spent at FHE.

This place is causing not only myself, but my family a great deal of distress, and frequently threatens to not allow you to leave with the medications they put you on, if you ever come to a point in treatment where you realize you aren't receiving the appropriate help. Don't check in here if you unless you have a court ordered date that save you from getting stuck here, cause they WILL benefit from using up the money on your insurance policy plan as much as possible.

I reached out to the staff at fhe and was walking in the doors of their center the same day. I was unsure about traveling out of state, but when talking to the staff and comparing other treatment centers it was clear this was the right move - and now that Im 5 months into recovery I know I made the right choice. I have worked in the substance abuse field for 24 years in many settings across South Florida. I have been blessed with the opportunity to work at the Florida House Experience and it has been a rewarding and enriching experience. The primary focus at this facility is patient care, with no exceptions. There are many demands on a treatment facility and The Florida House Experience overcomes them all to provide these struggling people and their families with a life changing opportunity. I can't imagine working anywhere else, and it's where I would send anyone I care about for help.

Harsh but effective treatment center. The experienced staff can see right through manipulation of the typical addict thus getting to the root of deeper issues. However this can sometimes backfire as legitimate emotional breakthroughs can be brushed off and mistaken for attempts at manipulation, thus deepening trust issues and making patients feel more hopeless.

Florida House is a joke. I ended up AMAing because the staff didn't pay me any mind. Because I chose to AMA I was "staffed" which means I was put in a room in front of the staff and humiliated as they accused me of anything they could come up with as well as called names and threatened.
A tech named Stephanie who is in "recovery" took the liberty of STEALING all my expensive perfume and wearing it in front of me. When I AMAd I was not allowed to go through my stuff to account for it all. I suppose because they stole my belongings. They left me at a train station after psyching my mother out by calling her telling her I was leaving to use. I left and headed to another treatment center which I highly recommend called DELRAY RECOVERY CENTER.
Florida House is a joke. Its like a sorority house and only cares about how much money they can get out of you.
Save yourself the time and money and look into Delray Recovery Center.

I recently completed treatment here and ended up starting outpatient at another facility. It s inpatient care that didn t cost a penny. This worked for me and didn t have any troublemakers in treatment with me, but it s important to follow it up with more therapy like I am now.

My time at the Florida house was very informative. I learned a lot about myself, about the addiction And how to deal with it. The people that work at Florida house experience Really care about recovery and helping people. The time I was there some problems arose and some people were not happy . Well the owner showed up and actually talked to everybody individually to see what he could do to help. I don t know about other places or other rehabs But for him to show up at 2 AM really shows what kind of people that works there are like. that gentleman really really cared. He actually went out on his own to get stuff for people personally. Like I said the staff in the Florida house really care the medical part, The therapists the counselors case managers and liaisons between the different unions and different facilities that use FHE. I highly recommend FHE. for any one that has the substance problem, whether it be yes alcohol or drugs or even mental Issues. I was glad to experience it it s good to know that there s a place like that to go for help. I made a lot of friends at FHE. Janet, Matt, Kyle, Jim, Dana. Sharif everyone I will definitely miss them all but I m glad to know that they re there if I need them If you have a problem and you re looking for a place to go this is definitely the place. I had to get back on here and rate this place again. After not seeing my previous post this place is amazing and of course Jill in the kitchen makes me hungry when Im really not. Not only are the sweats amazing , other options and grill cheeze is available for Who dont eat meat.

Very unprofessional staff! The techs and the nurses don't have a clue of what they are doing. I wouldn't recommend this place to my cat!

This place saved my son's life. They provided a safe environment and lots of support to my son and our family so we could get through this. I highly recommend it.

The Florida House took me from living in my car and hopeless with no insurance or a penny to my name and with love and compassion allowed me to go thru detox , residential treatment and PHP and IOP They also provided money every week for food . Without a doubt I was dying when I walked in at 164 lbs with all the guilt and shame I carried you would think I would have weighed a ton. And there is what I learned from the wonderful therapists is that guilt and shame and of course my enourmous ego was the problem , the using but a symptom. Today because of the Florida houses compassion allowing me the time to heal physically mentally and spiritually I am a healthy happy man. My children thank you and as for myself words couldn't begin to describe my gratitude. If The Florida House can help me get my life back on track , they can help anyone !

Florida House was where my journey in sobriety began and continues to be an essential part of my recovery today. I ve been to other treatment centers as a patient and as a visitor and the genuine love and support from the entire staff at Florida House is unparalleled. Beyond the period of the treatment Florida House continues to provide for their patients through an AMAZING alumni program. In my personal experience getting out of treatment would have been a lot more difficult if it weren t for the weekly alumni meetings where I could find familiar and always friendly faces. The alumni program offers so many opportunities to be of service which is a key component of long term sobriety and I am extremely grateful to be able to give back to such an amazing treatment facility.

Worst experience of my life. I went there to kick a suboxone and xanax addiction. I was publicly humiliated on numerous occasions. They also did not seem to understand that after being on suboxone and xanax for 6 years i was not going to get over withdrawals in a weeks time. I repeatedly explained to them that I was still very sick and was told that's impossible, it's been 2 weeks. They had 3 2 hour group meetings every day if you did not speak they would force you in a belittling and humiliating manner. The fact that I had a great job, my own insurance and was financially independent seemed to bother them. They just could not belive I wasn't homeless living on the street. Every time I was asked about my work/home life they acted as if I was lying to them. After my therapist belittled me one too many times I said enough. He had called my parents telling them I was going to leave and I was going to use. I was finally allowed to speak to them and they said it sounded like I was being brainwashed. I then refused to go to group meetings. They then had me stand in the middle of a room with all the staff members as they belittle you once again. There is no compassion at this place. It is very militant like style which may work for some but was not the place for me. It had been 6 years since I was running the streets and I had a long time to be away from that lifestyle. I went to this place to get off the suboxone and xanax in a controlled safe environment, not to be belittled and humiliated. It's now over 3 years later and I am at the top of my career and could not be happier in my life. If I knew this place was going to be like this I would've never went past the detox phase. It's now been 3 years and 3 months since I was there and I just received a bill for 2000 dollars. This place is all about the money they tell your insurance anything to keep you there the full 90 days. I was on a medical leave from work. They were supposed to stay in touch with my employer but never did. I nearly lost my job over this. I am not trying to make excuses for my actions. I take full responsibility for all the mistakes I have made. I am not one to write reviews but this place just blew me away. I wouldn't recommend anyone to go to this place. South Florida in general is not a good place. I would think twice before sending your children here. Look up the sober (flop houses).

The Florida House Experience gave me the foundation I needed to build my new life of creativity,without using drugs or alcohol. What I learned at The Florida House (at 45), was how to live life fully as a responsible, self-supporting adult! There's no better feeling than looking in the mirror each day and truly feeling blessed that you're alive. Thanks for everything!!

I couldn't recommend a better place to go to rehab for drug addiction and mental health. All the staff here are absolutely amazing and they make it their mission to make everyone feel right at home. Everyone here is truly dedicated to helping the clients and I couldn't be more satisfied with my stay here, except for being able to stay longer. Thank you all at Florida House Experience for helping me find myself again, helping me learn to love myself again, and including me in your alumni family... Definitely the best decision i made in my life was to come to FHE July 2019. Thanks you guys.

FHE helped me regain clarity and put me back on the right path after having relapsed with 5 years sober. Scott G and Dr. Tucker are incredible. If you go to FHE and have one of them as your therapist, consider yourself extremely fortunate. Julia, Dr. Castellon, and at least 5 other employees saved my life after they found me unresponsive in my first 24 hours there. I can t express the amount of gratitude I have for so many of these people. I strongly recommend FHE for detox, residential, PHP, and IOP.

With that being said, I do have a grievance about the director of the sober skills program. If I could rate SS I would give it one star. Art Jacob doesn t have a problem divulging private information about previous clients to other patients. There are people on the bottom of the payroll who are ten times more professional than this man. Sober Skills is a cash pay ONLY program (usually for people without insurance) and also only accepts male patients, where they take people through the 12 steps of either AA or NA. While I think the concept is wonderful, the way Art forces the program goes against AA traditions. Tradition 6- An A.A. group ought never endorse, finance, or lend the A.A. name to any related facility or outside enterprise, lest problems of money, property, and prestige divert us from our primary purpose.

If I had any executive authority over FHE, I certainly wouldn t want a staff member preaching how the program that IS covered by insurance doesn t work.
Art is upset that I told him no to sober skills and has been trying to slander my name. Thankfully, people know me better than the vile things Art tried to speak of me. They also know that I worked the steps three times in my five years sober, and I discharged from FHE and got right back to my meetings and found a sponsor my first day out.

If anyone is considering rehab just to dry out, of course it won t work. The 12 steps are free to work, but you must be willing to go to any length for your sobriety. Going to meetings, getting a sponsor, working the steps thoroughly, and eventually sponsoring others and taking them through the steps WILL keep you sober. Once I stopped doing that, I relapsed after multiple years of sobriety. Thank God I was given another chance, and thank God for the people at FHE who played a significant role in helping me establish my foundation again

I don't know anyone who can honestly say their rehab stay was amazing. By the time most people end up in rehab, like me, you are in a bad spot and not in a loving place. Like any program treatment program, it works if you work it. I may have had some problems with my treatment but you cant argue with results.

FHE set me up with the best therapist and doctors for my anxiety I have ever seen. I've always had trouble finding a connection with healthcare people but they worked great for me. Im back with my family taking it one day at a time.

This place is Amazing from the people who work outside to the inside staff. I couldn't be in a more caring facility. After thinking about it I came here to right a review to show my gratification. While the professionals where treating my mind, people Jill in the kitchen Professional catered to my love of sweet potatoes. I have never felt this way about food ever and in the condition I was in I have made a total rebound in the challenging times we are live in. If this place could be a 10 star, I say its one of best places I have been.

My friend recently voluntarily checked herself into their center for depression. She spent a lot of money and missed work to get help from a reputable place and they were awful to her. She wanted to leave (which should be her right Bc she checked herself in) but they baker acted her and had a cop place her in handcuffs to take her to a different hospital where she was kept involuntarily for six days! A normal baker act is up to 72 hours...they kept her even though she was not in danger of hurting herself. She was treated like a criminal and they absolutely made her depression worse. I suggest going to a different place that is more caring about people s mental health Rather than just getting paid their exorbitant fees.

I came to FHE Health completely hopeless, scared and alone. They have given me hope again and restored my family. I wasn t just greeted by employees, I was welcomed by a caring family. FHE health has helped me in so many ways I can t name. They re always there for me if I m in need and I know I d be welcomed back.

Example: I have extreme tooth/gum pain in the left, roof area of my mouth. After numerous calls, I was able to secure an appointment for 2 pm. However, the tech staff would not take me to the appointment; told me to wait until tomorrow; that I shouldn't bother people on Christmas.

Did I want this pain today? I could have a stroke today. It looks like that is what it will take. Dangerous here, stay away. Tech lead will say I didn't want to go. No: I knew they wouldn't take me. Stay away.

As I m laying in bed right now 5 blocks from FHE I am still in awe. Next month will be 9 months sober from substance addiction. I choose to stay close as I view this as a home! The staff were like family of which I still hear and talk to daily. A lot of them know the struggles of the life s we were in, but now by Gods grace we are truly living. As I face up coming struggles I am calm and ready for what comes knowing that I can handle it as long as I stay sober and talk to people that have went through the same things that I may endure. I am so thankful because this place gave me the knowledge to be able to use my wisdom to help others as well as myself. I cannot help but to express how awesome the alumni department and staff are. If you are willing to go or are trying to help someone have the realization of self worth and how loved they are no matter what they have done or what s happened in there life, this is definitely the environment needed; you will find the most caring people in the world that have the greatest interest at heart and just want to see people recover from a hopeless state of mind and body. I love you FHE you will forever have a place in my heart

My family initiated my stay here for help with depression and panic attacks. We had tried typical counseling before but nothing as intense as this. I was pretty concerned about it at first, but I'm glad I made this decision. Absolutely recommend FHE

After many years of struggle, my brother attended the Florida House Experience about 3 years ago and his life has done a complete 180. It has changed not only his life, but the lives of everyone around him, including the Florida House and local community. He's become a better person since his recovery and someone I look up to every day. I thank this place every day for giving me the big brother I always wanted and needed, as well as giving my brother the life he deserves.

The accommodations are great, the staff are highly skilled and compassionate, and the results speak for themselves. Overall, you couldn't find a better place for help to fulfill your potential.

This is the most amazing treatment center I've been to. Everyone of the techs, councilors, therapists, case managers and everyone else were absolutely amazing. I also met some great, true friends in my 40 day day here.

There are a lot of bad and downright dangerous treatment centers out there. I went to a few thinking they had my best interest in mind. THEY DID NOT. I was referred to Florda house from someone in the rooms, and when I needed help again I gave them a shot. You think every time will be your last time. I don't know what was different this time, but it worked. Florida house was different! But something clicked for me this time around. The techs and the therapists looked out for me and I still see some of them around. It inspired me to get into helping others facing their demons. Florida house changed my life. By the time I was making my way back out into the world (which was a long time for me lol), I was confident. I knew what my hangups were. I had a structure in place I could retreat to if I was in trouble. Its beautiful.
