COORDINATION FOR A SMARTGRID
Electricity infrastructures today are facing major challenges. Electricity use is ever-growing. More and more electricity is generated by intermittent sources: at a large-scale by off-shore wind; at a small scale by high numbers of distributed generation. This asks for a smarter grid. The PowerMatcherSuite is the answer.
The Suite comprises two disruptive open source technologies; the PowerMatcher and EF-Pi. Both technologies are complementary but can also function on their own. The PowerMatcher is a transactive energy smart grid coordination mechanism. The Energy Flexibility Platform & Interface, EF-Pi in short, is a platform which enables appliances, the smart grid and smart services to communicate with each other.
