Horrible customer service low grade scales. Dealt with a susan in customer service who tried to charge me 25 dollars to send me a replacement scale after 2 months. I used the scale in my store to measure 1 ingredient repeatidly. Its a kitchen scale and should be able to do this for more than 2 months. They emailed me after 2 weeks of back and forth and offered to send me a new one for 25 dollars. What a shame
The box clearly says KITCHEN SCALE 2 YEAR WARRANTY then when i asked about this susan says its not for commercial use and that voids the warranty.

Bought a Salter scale from Home Outfitters clearance. It never worked at all, right out of the box. Contacted Salter (in the UK) but they told me to contact Springfield Instruments, their Canadian Distributor. After several back and forth emails, and sending them pictures of the front of the scae, back of the scale, copy of my receipt etc, they told me I needed to send my original receipt -- ya right ... who does that? Then I'd have no proof to get a warranty!!! The Customer Service here is terrible. Not only slow to act, but rude too. The lady is demanding, and then berating me that I did not follow her instructions to the letter. Who is the customer here?
I contacted Salter in the UK, but they keep referring me to this Quebec based nightmare of a company. I begged for them to intervene (being the manufacturer) but they choose to allow their good name and reputation to be dragged through the mud by this company.
If I were Salter, I would be taking away this company's distributor agreement as they are diminishing the brand.
Long story, but it's now March 2019 and I having been trying to replace a defective scale since October 2018.
My recommendation is to avoid Salter products altogether, if in Canada, because the people here will make your life miserable.
No more Salter. No more dealing with this ridiculously unprofessional Quebec Company.
I am now going to contact Consumer Services ontario. They might be able to help, or not. But at least they can post this company on their Warning list.
