Took my out of town family here and its sort of a step down from Blue Water Grill which isn't to say that place is any good either. The place was sticky and menus were dirty with something. Staff were a bit oblivious to the point my Mom of all people was perturbed. Food was pretty close to elementary school cafeteria servings. Go here for a drink and the sunset but probably not much more.
Great view. Breeze and umbrellas keep you cool on hot days. Food and service are good and the prices are great.
Host was rude. Everything else was fine, very nice views.
Great shrimp tacos! Service was ok. Could have been much better. But I enjoyed my visit
Cool place and great atmosphere. The foods was just ok for me.
Good food, very nice waterfront outdoor seating. Reasonable price.
Expensive & not many options, but clean & friendly. Our sandwiches were good, but we didn't like the lemon pepper fries.
Crab cake sandwich for lunch was great. And the view is pretty awesome.
Had a great bacon smokehouse burger. Wait was a little long but that's expected for the great location. Girl bartender is great at making eye contact and completely ignoring you. Cold beer. Good drinks. Salt was solid in the shaker, use some rice! Lights at the outside tables are blinding. Put some kind of shade perhaps. I put my napkin over it. Service at the table was very good. Clean glasses, plates and silverware. Thanks. Update 12/2020, came for fish and chips. They don't offer fish and chips. ?? What fish restaurant doesn't sell fish and chips?
1st time dinner. In town to visit parents. Lunch fried flouder was Excellent. The side sauce was excellent too. Whats in it??
this place has a very beautiful location on a pier and has a beautiful view, the attention is very good and polite the calamari appetites are from good to regular since they do not use Italian tomato sauce and I ordered some onion rings this good and super large, my main course was. Hawaiian tuna I did not like that they accompanied him with Dorito I think they remain. Better with fries for me it was good nothing special, my companions ate Fried Flounder and it seemed fresh and it was very good. And the other dish was Po 'Boy, who who asked for it did not seem more than regular, although it was not an excellent meal, the place is cozy, its terrace enchanted me and its employees excellent treatment.
There for lunch, crab cake sandwich and oyster po boy were great!
A popular and busy place. Food has been consistently good on every visit.
A nice, casual dining spot right on the intracoastal waterway. The menu isn't especially extensive and with more sandwich options than dinner plates, but the food is delicious. Tables with umbrellas on the deck on the back offers a nice view of the waterway while dining.
I've gone here many times and have always enjoyed it. Good food and a great view. would recommend!
One of the worst dining experiences I've ever had at Wrightsville Beach and/or Wilmington. My friend and I have been here before. The food is usually good, although the wait times can be long. We waited for a table for 45 minutes. Because of "Covid19" (or at least the excuse they were using), the restaurant was not allowing anyone to dine in, only outside which resulted in limited tables. That was somewhat understandable. Although this was misleading as their website indicated a dine-in option. When we were finally seated, none of the wait staff acknowledged us for 15 or so minutes. The waitress who did serve us was apologetic at least, and offered a free dessert. However, this didn't really make up for all of their shortcomings. My friend ordered crab cake and slaw which he said was tasty. I ordered fish tacos & they tasted awful, plus they were not fresh and were cold as if they had been sitting out for a while. I was very disappointed. I asked to speak to the manager. He seemed condescending and when asked about indoor seating, he seemed more interested in the welfare of his staff than a returning paying customer. This was after my friend told him about his handicap and breathing problems because of the heat. I used to enjoy this place, mainly for its scenery of the Intercoastal waterway. But after today's visit and their lack of accommodation, it will be my last time there.
Great place. Sat outside right by boats...gorgeous day. Food was very good. Staff friendly.
Food was great and wait staff was great also. Only problem was computer went down and it took a while to pay and we was in a hurry because we were on our lunch break and did not have a bunch of time.
Great seafood in a casual atmosphere. Nice views of the waterway.
Amazing food but expect a wait. A good selection of beers and mixed drinks.
Delicious food and a great place to watch boats. Friendly and fast service.
Lovely Seafood Restaurant. Crab dip appetizer was on point. Mahi mahi Sandwich with Lemon Pepper Fries was great. The Mahi mahi fish tacos were awesome.
The crab dip was awesome. Great service. They offer outdoor dining only on the marina and nice ambiance. Tacos were good but could have had more meat. Too many flies and my shrimp racos were cold
Great food but the service left something to be desired.
Just had lunch there, food was greasy and overpriced. $50 for lunch and barely made it home before it came back up. Never again.
We had a great meal here, sat outside on the water. Our service was very prompt and the food was delicious.
It was mediocre for the prices. Go to the Pilot house instead!
Fish House Grill is definitely my favorite restaurant to go to whenever I am in the Wrightsville Beach area. The food is wonderful, and the staffs are great. The view outside is amazing. Too bad I cannot go there every day because it is a bit far from Raleigh, but I cannot wait to go back for more food!
Was good but flat beer and luke warm fries were a bummer to a great mahi mahi sandwich n tacos Great service too
The best staff. Very accommodating and the food was excellent. Everything was fresh and cooked the way everyone requested. Will be back. A must stop when at Wrightsville Beach!!.
Awesome oysters, calamari, especially that citrus sauce
Caesar was disappointing, yet deducted from the bill. Bloody Mary tasty. Buffalo shrimp is a must. Our service was great. Yet...why serve white lettuce?
Best seafood in Wilmington for the price and location!
Clam chowder was amazing we also had the crab cake melt and the mahi mahi tacos both are very good.
Favorite of locals. Try the "humongous delicious original" onion rings with fresh local grilled shrimp. On the waterway outside deck smack in the middle of a marina with big boy toys out of a fantasy book floating up and down as you dine in the sunshine or with a glass of wine at dusk. Always a vacation from the normal pace of life.
I can honestly say by no exaggeration that this was the best restaurant I ve ever ate at. The Prices are beyond reasonable and the food it immaculate. I had the Mahi Tacos it was the best fish tacos I ve ever had.
Great time, good food, nice scenery by the marina. We had a good time.
A wonderful place on the intracoastal waterway. Great food, outdoor seating by a marina. Good service and reasonable prices. One of our favorite lunchtime places.
Food good, great service, and super friendly staff.
The food is good, the views great, but another thing to consider is what the waiter types into the computer as the tip after we write it on the slip. At 03:43 PM on 12/26/15 Maghan's typing added $3.00 to the bill. I wrote in a tip for $7.00 but when my credit card statement arrived a month later, it appears the tip changed from what I wrote to a rounded-up $10.00. This may have been an honest error. I hope so.
Food was ok, service was not good. Appetizer buffalo shrimp, as well as fried calamari are great. Overpriced for the kind of food and service. The bloody Mary was good.
The food was excellent. The waiter was personable, loved him. We got a chance to talk to the guy watering the plants, Sean. The plants are beautiful and he was an awesome guy. Make sure and visit when/if you get a chance.
Neat restaurant, had a pleasant atmosphere sitting outside on right on the bay. Enjoyed our time here. Food was okay, but nothing to write home about.
Great view and food... Wish they had more seafood options... But still great place
YUMMY, great views and easy to drive boat up and dock.
Setting on the dock enjoying a wonderful meal with the woman you love. What could be better.
I take an out of town guest here for "supposedly" a decent meal as I have not been in a while. He suggested Dockside in which I laughed for obvious reasons so I mentioned Fish House. So he gets a piece of tuna on a salad which end up being the "tail cut" in which most would throw away rather than cook it. Come to find out the shrimp I get along with everything else is not even from here. Frozen garbage probably from Thailand no doubt. Someone PLEASE answer me how we can live at the beach and have such GARBAGE seafood around here? My suggestion is bull doze all of these "fake" seafood restaurants here and just put in a Long John Silvers or Red Lobster. the exact same frozen imported garbage that these places serve for 1/2 the price. One would think living at the beach we may have decent seafood but not in this place. Its just as plastic as the city. The only reason for the 3 stars is the waitress was nice. Its not her fault for the bad product these places sell.
Excellent place for delicious Seafood. I was super full. Certainly worth a return visit. Kinda of like a restaurant in Los Angeles I liked to visit.
To start with the views were blocked. The onion rings were rubbery and under cooked and the fish was mealy and over cooked. Management either was uninformed or didn't care we were unhappy. We did find the server delightful. We will not go back nor encourage anyone else to go there.
Saturday lunch in October. 40 minute wait. Worth it. Great food. Friendly patrons.
Good food and staff! Not mask nazis either so bonus points!
Went to fish house on Saturday (which was cold) and got outdoor seating. We also went when we were hungry and had to wait 20-30mins for a table. Not too bad besides the fact that it was cold and their outdoor heaters did little to keep us warm. The waitress was nice but very busy with other tables. Took her quite a bit of time to check on us, get drinks, and get the food ordered. They seemed busy. Overall, the food was good, especially the burger! My husband scarfed down the $21 combo platter in about 5 mins. Not sure that was worth the price but it was seafood and he ll eat anything. Loved the food and aesthetic...I feel like you pay more to eat there than for the actual size/quality of food. Not too sure about the other aspects of my dining experience. Maybe will go back bc of the nice view and good food (even though it was a bit pricey)...
Great view and wonderful waitress. Food was great . My two boys loved everything they had as well.
Delicious food..simple menu but they do all things well..love the atmosphere being on the water makes the meal all the better.
The food was delicious the staff was great! A great place for outdoor dining that is priced right!!
The food is amazing! The scenery: amazing! Everything was perfect! Our party of 7 left very pleased!
First, how can a seafood restaurant not have hush puppies? Second, my order was messed up when it arrived. Third, it was $20 for a small hand full of shrimp and soggy French fries. Fourth, the service was horrible. The server came to the table twice the entire meal. I was never brought any silverware and had to ask for napkins at the very end cause non were ever given to me. This place is horrible. Do not recommend.
Fantastically fresh fish tacos and sandwiches. The blackened locally caught mahi is ridiculous.
Have went 2 times now while in town! Love it, the food the atmosphere all amazing. And the Citrus Garlic Sauce they have is so awesome it's unbelievably good!
Great food, I had the fish tacos blackend. Service was decent.
This was the most horrible meal I have had in a long time . The tuna was something that I could not bite through. It was not tuna. I have eaten and seen tuna and this was not it. No cut of tuna could have been this bad. Do not eat here. This was horrible.
Great place to sit by the inter coastal. The food and the service were satisfactory.
Sierra was great and on the spot. The crab cake sandwich was great!
We had the number one seat on the dock!:) It was a warm sunny table right in the middle. Such great views; we were able to take some great pics. The crab dip was phenomenal; the bread was toasted & buttery! Mmm! Along with splitting the appetizer with my two friends, I had an iced tea & an IPA. Everything looked and tasted fresh. Wonderful first experience! Ellie took great care of us and she was such a positive energy for my friends and I. Really appreciate the hard work, thank you!
Frozen Food Heat&Serve My blackened shrimp, fries, even my daughters cheese burger we're obviously premade frozen product. Even the cocktail sauce and tartar sauce we're purchased. That's just lazy
Good seafood reasonably priced....outdoor seating right on intracoastal is a nice touch
This place was recommended by a local and I am so glad I asked them. Superior food and friendly service.
The food, atmosphere and service are all great! The location is great, right on the Intercostal. It has a casual/beachy vibe. Highly recommend!!
Love the outside seating on the water.... Even though a cloudy day! For starters we shared the onion rings. Awesome! My guy had a shrimp poboy. Good with lots of shrimp. I had a crab cake sandwich. Not bad but have had lots better crabcake. Brian was a great server and we had a reasonable wait for our food. Will definitely be back!
Loved the place, the views, the service, the food . . . Highly recommend.
Good food with a nice, casual outdoor setting by the water and view of nice boats. Good customer service as well to make it a great experience. Would definitely visit again.
The waterfront view of the boats and nautical activity rates 5 stars whereas the food only 3. Given the location expected seafood a step above. Crab cakes bland, Hawaiian tune wrap too spicy hot. Mahi Mahi tacos by far our best selection.
Came here after my wife and I received no service from the restaurant next door, and boy am I glad we did. The atmosphere is much more open and welcoming, we were seated immediately and had prompt service. The food was AMAZING. They have an excellent draft choice from local breweries which made this place that much cooler. You can pick to sit outside or inside, whichever suits your preference. I look forward to coming back here to eat next summer.
Great food and scenic views. Has a nice covered outdoor area for waiting with a cocktail/drink if you need to wait for a table.
