What a stay! We enjoyed two nights in July 2020 - outstanding service, amazing food and lovely grounds. A brilliant spot to explore the local village and hills on foot.

Wonderful restaurant with rooms! We went for the seasonal tasting menu dinner with room and breakfast which was expensive but worth it. Dinner was exquisite and staff were great at accommodating our pescatarian dietary requirements. Nice salon space for drinks or afternoon tea with access to outside seating if weather is nice. Rooms were mostly reserved so we only got one of the smaller longshaw room which was actually very nicely decorated and with a good sized bath to unwind in. Breakfast was tasty as well with selection of pastries, yoghurt and cooked eggs. If you have time, there are good trekking options to build an appetite for the dinner!

We had a booking for 26/27th May (booked in January, with deposit paid) which has just been cancelled today (7th May) with no apology, just that the booking needs to be rearranged.
The booking was for our 20th wedding anniversary - Fischer s were told this when we booked and it is the middle part of a 10 night break. We have been given 2 and a half weeks notice to find alternative accommodation!
It seems that reopening date of 2nd June has been on Facebook and Twitter since February and Fischer s have put more effort into advertising on social media than contacting their booked guests.
It is now incredibly difficult to find alternative accommodation at such short notice.
I have spoken to Fisher s about this and have now received an apology, but no compensation was offered for the damage they have caused. They said that ultimately there was nothing they could do about it now and forwarded me a copy of an email they sent me regarding the cancellation that I did not receive and said the information was available on social media. I m very disappointed that so little effort was made to ensure that we knew about their change of opening date.
Thank you Fischer s for ruining what was supposed to be a very special occasion for us, we feel very badly treated by you.

Cooked to perfection food and beautiful grounds. Staff super friendly and attentive without being obsequious. Taste of the season menu highly recommended. Can't wait to go back.

Really unique menu - all the flavours were brought out beautifully and were absolutely delicious. The staff were very attentive, knowledgeable and simply delightfully. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Had a Sunday afternoon tasting menu. Food was great. Chef even made our own vegetarian menu. Spacious grounds and staff were extremely friendly.

Absolutely beautiful as always. We had the tasting menu with the wines and it was delicious. Not cheap but worth every penny

Loved the lunch we had here. We went for our anniversary so it was worth the price. The staff are lovely and there is a wonderful garden where they grow their veg and herbs.

The menu is seasonal and is always fully booked so I suppose advance booking helps.
