They recommended an "offset" mortgage which was nothing of the sort but had a sky-high arrangement fee. Funny that...

Brilliant customer service very professional and reliable

The whole team were excellent with great customer service. They guided me through the minefield of Mortgages, home and life insurance with expertise.

When buying our forever home we had the pressure of finding the best mortgage, insurance and life insurance taken off our hands. Grace listened to what we wanted and what was important to us and managed to find us the best options within our budgets. She sorted it all out for us and was always quick to answer any questions we had. We had a difficult sale and purchase and First Extra was with throughout making sure all our financial needs were sorted. It was a relief and we are so grateful for their assistance!

I would recommend first extra to anyone. We have used them for the third time - more specifically John Murray! He has been an absolute diamond ensuring we (more me) has fully understood everything and given us all our options. John is super patient and very thorough and excellent communication as well ! I really can t rate these guys enough! Even once we have moved out of the area if we buy again we will always use these guys.

AVOID! Phoned the Newbury branch on the 17th November at 4:11pm. Was told I had phoned during their busy time and someone would call me back before 5.15pm. Have not heard back since, felt the telephonist was uninterested. Mortgage and insurance business taken elsewhere. AVOID!

John and his team were so helpful during the mortgage application process. Whenever we had questions they were able to help and we felt they went above and beyond. I recommend FirstXtra to all friends and family and will definitely continue to do so!

I would 100% recommend Firstxtra financial advisors. I used them for help with my first mortgage, every single person I dealt with from start to finish was amazing. They were really helpful and were with me every step of the way, checking in and chasing solicitors/estate agents/bank lenders when necessary. The customer service was excellent, every person I dealt with was lovely, they were really excited for me getting my first new home and it really showed, I didn't feel silly asking obvious questions, they welcomed questions and thoroughly explained the answers so I could understand (with my limited knowledge/experience of mortgages!) They were always so quick to respond to emails and calls. I had a bit of a rough journey with regards to getting my new home (problems/delays with solicitors and developers) and Firstxtra supported me through it all, I couldn't not give them a better review. I would 100% recommend them and am so glad they are looking after my mortgage.

Cowboy company!

Important personal details missed off mortgage offer, names spelt incorrect, street name incorrect so suervyor couldn t attend the house!

All they seemed to care about was selling me life and critical illness cover, I m guessing they get better commission for this.

Seriously don t use them, everything they do you can do yourself and get free advise from the lender you choose to go with.

I used Charlotte from Firstxtra to help me find a buy to let mortgage. She came to my house for the appointment which was very convenient. She was very professional and really knows her stuff . The service I received from Charlotte and her team was excellent from finding the mortgage deal I was happy with to helping to chase up the purchase process. I recommended her to my sister who had already spoken to one financial adviser but Charlotte was able to find her a better deal so she used Firstxtra as well and was also very happy with the service. I would not hesitate in recommending firstxtra to anyone looking for a mortgage or remortgage.
