I am thankful First Steps was there in my time of need. The staff was great, they even came to my house to get me! Listen, we can pick them (or any other facility) a part and fins a million things wrong but YOU have to be an ACTIVE partipant in YOUR recovery. The tools they give you work when YOU apply them! Thank you for being a part of my recovery journey!
I attended First Steps outpatient program and was very happy with the help I received. I felt the staff genuinely cared about the health and well being of the people there. They went above and beyond to help me meet my goals and keep them.
The level of care and concern makes for a promising program that truly changes lives. My family has since been positively affected in so many ways since admission into the program
It helped me address my substance abuse issues at the inpatient facility & tries to incorporate counseling & therapy for personal issues. Overall a help if you try to make it work
First Steps Recovery has given me hope! The staff is caring and knowledgeable. They have helped me through the process and because of my recovery my family is heahea towards healing. If you or someone you love is in need of a great recovery program, I recommend First Steps Recovery.
This place saved me from myself. I thought I was losing everything in my life but found myself after getting sober. Thanks God for the caring staff who help me understand how to live each day sober. Also helped me learn how to deal with anger. All you have to do is want to change!!!!
We have found our second family. My husband has been struggling with sobriety for years, the program helped him and me to understand that addiction is a disease not a "will" to not drink. It has given him a strength I have not seen before. The program works. I appreciate the family group as it is a safe place to be with other families that are struggling and working through the difficulties of addiction.
This has to be the best place for anyone they have luxury living, detox without suffering from anything also horse back riding , lakes, nature, swimming pool, deer, it was so beautiful they take a few insurances like keiser , Cigna and other it's a amazing place
First Steps is the best program I have found in town. It has made me a better person to deal with life on life s terms. I am very appreciative of what this program has done for me. Would highly recommend it to people who are truly ready for change.
First steps was an amazing experience. I would recommend it to anyone who is struggling with any type of addiction! :)
I was a client for 92 days! Let me start with a huge thank you to God for them, I'm now just a few days from 7 months sober. The entire staff greeted me with such love and understanding....professionally ran yet a personal treatment plan for each client......the house was so relaxing and SAFE and being in the foothills serene....most people are so scared of being shipped off to a roach infested rundown home with violent offenders ect. It's just the opposite! The counselors really take time to talk and care and met with us 7 days a week. We learned how to feel our feelings again without running from them...dealing with feelings and or problems in a healthy way again. The staff was so supportive during the covid 19 issues while I was there, took the time to help explain what was happening and took full productions to protect us. Before being released they helped me with placement into a sober living home that I feel like family at...and help with a job also. In short First steps cares about the client first.....they even sponsored my first month at sober living, now that's caring! Thank you so much First steps...recovery is so great !
Love working at Firststeps. It is a family and client needs are always most important.
I have nothing but love for First Steps! I was an inpatient and I m a part of their outpatient program. The staff, counselors, and therapist made me feel right at home. I m so thankful for First steps and consider them family. If you or a loved one have a problem with addiction just know you don t have to do it alone and that s the best feeling I ve received from this program
Dear Lord, DO NOT GO TO THIS HORRIBLY MANAGED "PROGRAM"!!! So much to report and say but will try to stick with the highlights: 1. Medically managed detox- LIE! There is not ONE licensed staff member there, ever! With how dangerous detox can be, I was appalled, especially since the location of the place was a minimum of 30 minutes to the nearest medical facility! They're "licensed" staff consists of one LVN that is only at the detox house for a small portion of the day and is doing admin work, have never seen her even do a set of vital signs on a patient! There is an ARNP that comes once a week and sees the patients briefly at best! What your "medically managed" detox will consist of is 20 something year olds, some that are medical assistants (aka cannot do a thing unless working under a licensed nurse) or someone with a CPR and first aid card. Most of them were prior clients themselves with little sobriety time under their belts. Don't get me wrong, most of them are a sweet group of young women and men, but in a potential medical emergency, do you want someone nice or a licensed, experienced professional that will be able to spot an emergency and care for you properly? 2. WILDERNESS THERAPY- LIE! I did not go on one hike, or experience any kind of wilderness other than the confines of the houses! Definitely lead you on to think you are going to experience a bunch of outdoor activities, not true! Their "equine therapy" consists of going to a horse farm and riding around for 30 minutes maximum. 3. Organized, integrated care: What a joke! These people do not know their heads from their behinds! If you ask three different staff a simple question, you will get three different answers. They are so unorganized! How do they expect you to check in to a rehab and relax and recover when you don't even know which house you will be at the next day! Let alone who is responsible for setting up outpatient treatment, letters for insurance and work etc?! I could go on and on, but please do yourself a favor and find another place to get the help you need!
I was honest On a question asked at intake. They rejected me when I know that over half the people lied about that question. So for being honest. Which is what you are supposed to do when seeking treatment I have to go out of town. This was the only local facility my insurance had a contract with. And now my 12 year old autistic son can t come visit and be a part of. This place is about money and doesn t care at all about some ones life. And it is life or death when you can t stay clean no matter how hard you try. Unless you have no choice stay away. When $$$$ > life there is an issue.
I entered first steps recovery a year ago today. With the help of Stefani Koda and the Serenity House I was able to stay clean and sober for a YEAR! Many more to come :)
If you truly are looking for help for yourself or a loved one then please run run run like hell! This place hasn't got a clue about how to get and keep addicts sober. The website as well as their intake coordinator will sell you hard and mislead you into thinking that they have a whole staff of qualified addiction specialists. This is NOT the case!! You will be left in the care of low level medical techs that are being paid minimum wage and a few counselors fresh out of college. Their is no psychologist, nurse practioner, and definitely no doctor on site. It's like they bought a nice big house and are playing rehab in it. I could buy a nice house in the foothills and put a bunch of addicts in it too, but that doesn't mean they are going to get sober. This place is a joke! I suffered through detox hell before I finally got out of there!
Fine runned business and people really care. This place changed my life!
This is a great place to recover and get great copying skills to deal with mental and physical ..issues .
First Steps Recovery saved my life! I cannot say enough good things about their program. The counselors there are wonderful. Amy and Monica are caring, kind, compassionate, and highly proficient in their practice and what they do. I would not be the person I am today without First Steps Recovery. I had been in two previous outpatient programs prior to First Steps, and it wasn t until I entered their program that I was able to get sober and stay sober for good. The way First Steps runs their program is far greater than my expectations could have imagined. I would highly recommend First Steps to anyone who is struggling with substance abuse disorder. They will save your life.
First Steps helped me get clean, today I have 2 months. The employees are nice and caring. I recommend this place for anyone that s serious about getting their life back on track!
