Best doctor in town! I absolutely love this office, all the staff and all the doctors! Doctor Arouse has been my children's doctor for 7 years now and I couldn't be more happy. Seeing how my kids love and trust him (even my 19 years old), speaks volumes of how of a loving and caring pediatrician he is. Hands down, First Step Pediatric has the BEST hours and I am always able to get an appointment same day. I am so grateful to FSP for the care they give to my family! Thank you! If you are looking for a wonderful doctor's office that has late and Saturday hours, many doctors so you can always get an appointment, and just an overall wonderful staff, then I highly recommend First Step Pediatrics.

My son loves this place. Loves all the doctors. They are the most patient people when it comes to dealing with all that many children. I will never change pediatricians. They take time to explain every single detail and make sure I understand. Love these doctors and so does my son.
Dr Arouse and his lovely staff are truly amazing!!!! They are true Angels!!!! Very helpful with advice and they never make you feel uncomfortable when you ask questions. Our times at the drs are always good.
Dr Arouse is an awsome Dr. My grandkids love him they are always axcited to see him. The staff at the clicic are wonderful. We been with this cinic since 2010 thamk you for a great job always clean and love the new building and location.
I love love love Mandy Luna! She's the only person my daughter sees. She's very thorough and cares so much about every aspect of her patients care. My daughter got sick at a month old and if it wasn't for Mandy's knowledge, skill and care for her well being I don't what might have happened. Everyone should see her! I recommend her to everyone I know!
I have brought my three children here for 7 years, first when they were in the hospital and now at the new location. The new building is amazing, it s kept cleaned and there are kid s books in each exam room. My kids love reading while they wait. The staff is very accommodating to arrange visits when they can fit our busy schedules. This is especially helpful because my kids have chronic health issues. Ms. Lauren, is also so helpful. She always make sure our paperwork is filled and return to us in a timely manner, she is very polite and when I call for an update, she always follows through with what she says. Ms. Lydia the nurse is our most favorite. She is very good with my kiddos and always keeps us updated and informed by returning calls in a timely manner. We love the different providers. Mandy Luna and Ashley Waldron have been amazing keeping my kiddos healthy and being proactive when they get sick. I try to ask for them each time we schedule an appointment. First Step has been amazing throughout the years. My children and I truly love this office and the people who work there.
Ignorant people! Our first visit, as we were trying to find a competent doctor and staff. This is NOT the place! A doctor that prescribes a medicine FOR ASTHMA that needs to be taken at school, who CAN'T give a child medicine without a note from the doctor. DOESN'T give the note at the time of the appointment. My daughter finds this out when she takes the medicine into the school nurse. So she calls the office and asks for the form to be faxed to the school. Lead her to believe it would be taken care of. Doesn't provide any information.... After waiting all day for the notice, no word from the nurse or doctor! Day two.... she goes to the school nurse, well it's a form she has to fill out and then take to the doctor for signature!!!!!!! REALLY!!!! My granddaughter is 4 and in Pre-K so obviously her first interaction with the school regarding taking medicine. So my daughter finally gets the form, fills it out and takes it to the doctor's office. She gets informed 24 HOURS to receive a signature!!!!!! So my granddaughter who needs breathing treatments is apparently S.O.L. NO, of course not, my daughter's only day off work and she is running all over town and back and forth to the school to give her the breathing treatment. Before gym, after gym, before recess, after recess and of course after lunch. All the office will say is, sorry there's nothing we can do!!!!!!!!! What it takes 6 seconds to sign your name? Such a caring place NOT.
I have not had a bad experience here, but the front desk staff always seem like they hate their job, or seem snobby and rude. I also don't like that every time I go in I am always seeing a different nurse. I am planning to try and find a pediatrician that doesn't have a million nurse practitioners work for he/she so I can build a relationship and re pore with one doctor.
Complete unprofessionals. 3 visits to fill our daughters prescription. Dont bother calling because these people arent ready to show up to work. The kind of office where you ask to speak to a physician and the phone attendant doesn't know where they are, when they will be back, and doesn't have a pen and paper to take a message. Disgraceful.
Our daughter is 8 years old and have been seeing Dr. Arouse every since he opened his practice. Great bed side manners and we always enjoy seeing him. Would highly recommend!
It really depends on who you get to treat your child, I trust the opinion of some PAs more than others.
When my son was two days old, I brought him in thinking he may have jaundice. The PA I spoke with said he was fine, and sent me on my way. A few hours later, I decided to ignore her medical opinion and trust my gut. I took him to cook children's to get checked out, and he indeed had jaundice. We had to stay in the hospital for four days.
In the office's defense, they never scheduled me with that PA again.
My son is now almost five months old. I have been to this office 7 times, and haven't yet met Dr. Arouse. So I guess you could say he isn't exactly "readily available".
I love first step pediatrics. I especially love the ma kaylynn henegar, she has been a wonderful person on every visit my son has had. She is very patient and kind with my son. I highly recommend her for anyone who wants to go to first step pediatrics.
I love the fact that I have a provider for my children that is close to home. Dr Arouse has done an amazing job bringing Nurse Practioners and Physicians Assistants into his practice. Because of the fact that they are an extension of Dr Arouse, the office staff have the ability to fit my children in for those unexpected sick visits and I know my children will receive the same friendly, caring and competent care that they would receive when seeing Dr Arouse himself.
My kids have been patients here for over 4 years now. Doctors are very attentive and caring. They listen to your concerns and complaints. By far the best pediactic doctor I've been to. Wait time is fairly responsible and they always have suckers at the end of every visit lol which is a total win in my kids book.
Dr Arouse and all of his staff is absolutely amazing! They always answer any questions I have. The office is very welcoming! I highly recommend this pediatrician.

My entire family loves Dr. Arouse and his wife, Simone! She works in his office too! I have a 12 year old, 10 year old, (boys) and a 5 month old (girl) and Dr. Arouse is amazing with ALL of them! My older kids were one of his original patients and we couldn t ask for a more attentive pediatrician. He is an authority in the care of ADD/ADHD patients. He is so good to his staff and sooo RESPECTFUL to his nursing staff! He just opened a brand new beautiful office to take care of all of your needs! The right side is for sick patient visits and left side is for medication rechecks, well check ups, and vaccines! This is great to not mix the sick with the well! If you are looking for a pediatrician look no further because Dr. Ayman Arouse is the BEST around!

We love this doctor's office. The front staff is always so helpful and welcoming. Kasi goes above and beyond when we need anything. The doctors are wonderful and really take their time, especially Darcy. We recommend this office for your children.
0 for unprofessionalism and P.A. The staff talks about patients and laugh at them. Lydia is very snobby no smiles here. Kasey who answered the phone was very unprofessional. She says HELLO very rudely like as if she was answering her personal phone. No indication of a doctor's office. No one their wanted to help. The P.A. dressed unprofessional like a 15 year old. Admitting he did not know what he was doing he look like he felt out of place,odd. The only kind smile was our medical assistant. Very sweet .
I couldn't have picked a better doctor for my 3 boys!! No matter what day it is he is always there to see my babies when they're sick! The most nice and kind doctor I've met!!

Dr. Arouse is very professional and always goes up and beyond to take excellent care of all my children! The staff is very quick and helpful when returning phone calls. I never see Dr. Arouse, and when I request, I have to wait forever. The office girls are rude and were obviously laughing at me because I waiting outside of the door. My daughter got RSV from sitting in that waiting room. There should be more PROFESSIONAL people working in a doctor's office. I will never be back.
The ma Kaylynn is one of the best ma in the office she does a great job taking care of my grandson at each of his visit she also did a great job making sure we understand everything we needed to k ow about his surgery
I found this pediatrician in February 2020 for my oldest sons and found the environment to be sanitary and ok for a local medical option.
In July 2021, I took my newborn there for his initial check ups and felt great about Michelle -- she was kind and knowledgeable.
At our 4 month check up, we entered the facility to rude and unprofessional reception. Following our entry, we were greeted in our wait room by a pediatrician whom we hadn't met previously. She did my sons check up and seemed elementary in her knowledge and communication. She asked about any concerns, which I addressed and she offered again, a very generalized response. He had what appeared to be a tiny wart on his finger and she wanted to call in an anti-fungal, but wasn't sure what it really was on his finger. In addition, I addressed his cradle cap, where she recommended using ADULT Selsun Blue. Now, clearly I have a problem with both of these resources because my son was only 4 months old, puts his hands in his mouth, has delicate skin, etc. As I walked to the front, I stood for nearly 10 minutes of reception making eye contact with me, but NO ONE offering to check me out. I was baffled and made very clear that we would NOT be returning.
Today, I called to address a billing concern along with a charge by the facility for addressing my concerns during my son's well check. Yes, they charged me for that -- which I have requested to be removed.
When I called and was disconnected while on hold, I was rudely told by Taylor at reception that she pushed the hold button, no one hung up on me. Additionally, while attempting to address my concerns in frustration, she went on to aggress her tone, speak over me and again, offer a very elementary response.
Courtney is who I was transferred to and was able to address my concerns and hopefully resolve my billing issues.
I absolutely would not recommend this facility for anyone local. Take the additional 25 minutes and drive to Cooks Children's. Aside from this encounter with my 4 month old, I've also taken my 8 year old in, where I spent 40 minutes waiting in my car because they 'accidentally' forgot to check us in.
My three kids have been under Dr Arouse care for long time. I would like to score him more then 5 stars but google won t offer me a higher score . He has been friendly, careful, and intelligent. He does spend good time with my kids, address all their concerns, and follow the standard of care. I highly recommend Dr Arouse to every one. Experience and care count. Thanks Dr Arouse
My two kids are patients of Dr Arouse and he is a Dr that makes a connection not just with the parent but with my kids. His staff and all providers are always happy and greet us like family. This new office looks amazing and is definitely kid friendly with movies playing and ipads to keep kids busy till they are called back. I would recommend Dr Arouse and the rest of the provider's to anyone....
About a year ago first step was in charge of my son. We took him in with concerns about his throat and breathing, which was obviously getting worse. On the last day he was in what I consider to be a very unprofessional and incompetent pediatric office, they sent my wife home after a few x rays. As soon as she was leaving nurses ran after her to stop her. She was then told to wait for the doctor which took almost an hour. They then noticed blockage in my son's throat and had him sent to cooks. It took cooks almost no time to see that he had 2 pennies lodged in his throat that have been there for approximately 1 month. I was told if I didn't take my son there that day I would have lost him. I just don't believe this practice is capable or professional enough and will never have my son in their care again.
All of the faces you meet at first step pediatrics are kind and helpful. I love their new building and personally think it s the best practice in town. I love Dr.A and how he always put my worries to rest !
Extremely disappointed and my daughter didn't even get to visit this office! First off I called to make an appointment and had to wait for them to call me back. Then I made an appointment for my daughter which is having chronic migraines. Could be a serious condition. Unfortunately I have a busy schedule with work and her grandfather calls me on a Sunday night wants her Monday to spend time because he and she have off MLK day. I couldn't say no.. I'm obligated.. OK well I forgot call MLK day and reschedule for the following week. So now they won see my daughter This is the only facility that will accept Tri Care Prime Select in my area which should be an easy Buck for this facility due to 100% coverage. Not happy with your policy FYI! not only that they purposely didn't return my calls for 2 weeks to let me know their missed appt. policy. GOOD LUCK with your poor business practices and professionalism. Rediculous!
From all my previous expierences , Dr.Arouse and his staff are by far the most friendly and welcoming practice in Cleburne , if not in the whole dfw area. My kids love going to see Dr.Arouse and relish the opportunity to see their favorite doctor. Even when he s not available, the rest of his staff are just as friendly and helpful in every aspect. I highly recommend taking your kids to first step pediatrics and wish I had started sooner !
Place was clean and stuff but sat for over an hour in the room without a single person coming in. Had an appointment the second they opened also so it wasn t likely there was lots of people there.
Terrible!! I went in because my 6 month old was sick. They prescribed something for him and told me they called it in before I left. Go to pick it up and the pharmacy had not received it. I called them 4 times, waited for 3 hours. Every time I talked to them they said we just sent it. Finally resort to driving back to the Pediatricians office and their response? Oh, well you should have called me sooo soo angry. Terrible office staff. Totally unhelpful and incompetent!!!
The staff was professional and caring. Dr.Arouse makes it his priority to hear out all your concerns and answer each and every single one. I can easily say that this last visit and each one before it always has me feeling sure I put my kids health in the best hands.
I take my children and grandchildren to see Dr.Arouse and the other providers, they are very helpful and accommodating with our family. They are very patient explaining what is going on with my kids and explaining the treatment plan. I was just there this week for physicals for my children and I could not be happier.
I love this place and my child does too, the nurses are very kind and patient with my child and the Dr is great to because i never feel like he s rushing just to to get through the day and the office manager, she is the Best.
My kids and gbabies have been pts of FSPA for 8 yrs now. I have nothing but good things to say about the office, MAs, and all providers. The NEW office is also amazing. I am as well an employee of FSPA and have always been treated with respect. I love my job and everyone i work with. FSPA R.O.C.K.S
Most highly sought pediatric office in all of DFW!! Some people drive an hour for this amazing pediatrician, Dr. Arouse. Extremely knowledgeable and *amazing* bedside manner. They have always been very careful and thorough for our kids. They are also very respectful of parents' rights regarding their child's treatment. This is one of the reasons Dr. Arouse and First Step Pediatric are famous in DFW. THERE IS A REASON PEOPLE DRIVE FROM WACO AND DALLAS... THEY ARE THE BEST!
Dr Arouse has been my 3 daughter s doctor for the last 6 years now. I wouldn t imagine having my girls seen by any other provider. His staff is kind, warm-hearted, & always willing to help. He is hard to get into to see him personally yet, if you request to just see him, his staff is more than willing to help you out. I take that as him being so GREAT that so many people want to get in to see him personally. He is ALWAYS kind & willing to go above & beyond to help. My girls adore him & I trust his judgement 100%!!
Love Dr. Arouse (said Aww-Rooz). We drive 45 minutes to see him and although the wait times are long (20-30 minutes) that's what I've waited at other doctor's offices and then I didn't even like the doc. Dr. Arouse remembers us and asks about how we are doing. I feel like he really cares about our family. I've never had a problem with any of his office staff or the PAs who work for him. We particularly love Mandy Winslow (we just call her Dr. Mandy but I'm pretty sure thats her last name). I love that he listens to me and takes the time to really explain things to me. He's also open to my EO use and doesn't push medications on me. But he will thoroughly explain when medication is needed. I love him and couldn't imagine a better pediatrician for my family. He's absolutely worth the drive!!
My Kids have seen Dr. Arouse and the PA's for 6 years now, I wouldn't change it for the world. My kids always look forward to going there. Dr. Arouse always treats us like family. His staff is awesome! My kids have seen all the PA's and they are also fantastic. I recommend Dr. Arouse to anyone looking for a GREAT Pediatrician!!
Had to change doctors offices due to not accepting the Insurance we had. Was very pleased with the office. Called that morning and was seen that afternoon. Would ve liked to have seen Mandy Luna... but the PA that we had was great too! Definitely our new doctors office to use!
Love Dr. Arouse but hardly ever see him. Even when you special request him you have to go through 3 people before you see him. So at end you have explained yourself at least 4 times. It's exhausting.
Love this office, Dr Arouse is the BEST pediatrician ever!! Everyone is so nice and this office is absolute kid friendly!! Definitely recommend to everyone :)
