Our History
First English Lutheran Church was founded in 1911 by German immigrants who settled in East Austin. The church has since grown into a diverse community that welcomes people from all walks of life. Over the years, our congregation has faced many challenges but remained steadfast in its commitment to serve God and our neighbors.
Our Beliefs
As Lutherans, we believe that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone. We also believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God and provides guidance for our lives. At First English Lutheran Church - Austin, Texas we strive to live out these beliefs by following Jesus' example of love and service.
Our Worship Services
We offer traditional liturgical worship services every Sunday at 8:30 am and 11:00 am. Our services include hymns accompanied by organ music or piano as well as readings from scripture. We also celebrate Holy Communion every Sunday at both services.
In addition to our regular Sunday services, we offer special worship services throughout the year such as Advent and Lenten midweek services as well as Christmas Eve and Easter Sunday services.
Our Education Programs
We believe that education is an important part of growing in faith. That's why we offer various educational programs for all ages including:
