I'd give this place 0 starts if I could. It started out fine, seemed like a holistic practice. I do like Jessica, she spends a lot of time with her patients, however am horribly displeased with the staff and the doctor.
I have been treated in this office twice for what the doctor thought was chronic lyme disease. I have been in chronic pain since June of 2013. I saw Dr. Jeffries for the first time in September of 2013. Fast forward to 2015 and the practice has gown so far downhill. I switched insurance providers, was told by my insurance company they were in network and by Dr. Jeffries staff they were in network. By this practice, I've been referred to a neurologist, had two MRI's and had an ultrasound. I met my insurance deductible. I also recently started a non-narcotic medication for chronic pain that is helping.
A few weeks ago I was in horrible pain and called on a Friday morning to explain and asked for the antibiotic the doctor used to treat my lyme disease in the past. I was told someone would call me back the same day. I sat in pain all weekend, no one called me. On MONDAY I was called and there's no mention of lyme disease in my chart and I had to come in for an appointment. What kind of doctor let's a patient sit in pain for 3 days before calling them back and doesn't have record of a condition HE treated me for twice? 10 days ago I had an ultrasound that showed what is probably a benign growth or lipom on my elbow near my ulnar nerve. I asked for a referral for it to be removed. 10 days and no one has called me to schedule a surgical evaluation. On a Monday I called and asked to be referred to a chiropractor, Wednesday the chiro called to schedule an appointment. Today I called North Raleigh Family Medicine to find out about thew surgical referral.
THEY CALLED BE BACK AND TOLD ME THEY DON'T ACCEPT BY INSURANCE AND COULD NOT PROVIDE MY REFERRAL! Wait. What? I've been in their office MULTIPLE times this year and they have my insurance card. One of the clerks didn't see the word "compass" next to my card, apparently they don't accept it. Wow. So, I have to find a new doctor, which means I have to wait to see the chiro, have surgery, and get another RX for the medicine that helps me to function. Which means I will go back to sitting in awful pain that is debilitating.
My son was also a patient at this practice. We'd stopped his vaccines after he had reactions to them and Dr. Jeffries seemed fine with that. We learned they were no longer allowing patients to not vaccinate so I found another doctor. She gave him a medical exemption for his shots, so no worries there. But, she found he has developmental delays and sensory processing disorder and is being sent to specialists for it. All missed by North Raleigh Family Medicine.
When the nurse called to tell me made a mistake and do not accept my insurance, I cried. I've been in so much pain, have refused narcotics, just want to find answers and their practice's inept staff has cost me precious time. When I explained the situation about my son the nurse spoke over me and said "That's because children need their shots!", without giving me a chance to explain why he doesn't have them.
Go somewhere else, there are other holistic and functional medicine practices. I'll be spending the rest of the afternoon to try and find one now, then wait two weeks for a new card, then wait for an appointment. This mistake has probably cost me at least a month of waiting time to have something removed that causes neuropathy and pain in my left arm. Maybe I'll actually get a legit diagnosis from my new doctor.
