Great place. Been twice. It is expensive but the quality of the service and the food will give you the memories of a weekend trip that costs the same amount of money... except without the hassle of travel. Treat the ones you love the most to this one.

Fiola is the original "Fiola" of which there are now several. Features fabulous local sourced produce, fish, meats, pastas served Fabio and Maria style - elegant and classy, and most of all delicious! Service is always fantastic, friendly down to earth staff are always very helpful.

We started off with the crab. Came with greens and a sauce, a very delicious soft shell. The bread was delicious. A wonderful focaccia that I filled up on right away. That didn't stop me from eating my entire entree though too. (I'd been carb-deprived all week.) I had the parpadelle with the Maryland lamb ragu. Which was more of a light sauce with a medallion of lamb. Excellent flavor. My father had the brodetto which he also said had good flavor. Perhaps not one of the best ciopinno/bouillabaisse he's had (and he gets it almost every Italian restaurant we go to), but still he said he enjoyed it. We finished with pistachio gelato, which was a nice cleanser. Service was great, atmosphere was sleek.

Very nice restaurant, very good wine, very beautiful and good plates but the meat is not good quality. The Chef's sauce covert the bad quality of the meat. It is pity and must be enhanced to get one star Michelin. Will come back to check if the cuisine has been evolved better

This restaurant is seriously good. I went to Fiola with a friend and I have found that food always tastes better with good company however everything about this restaurant impressed. The bar has a pleasant vibe, the service was pleasant but not overwhelming and every choice off the menu exceeded expectations. Even the wine was served at exactly the right temperature. Not the economy choice but a definite recommendation.

I have never written a review but I have dined at some of the finest restaurants in the world including some Michelin three stars such as Enoteca Pinchiorri in Florence, Le Gavroche in London, the Old David Bouley's in Tribeca, Charlie Trotters in Chicago. and Komi in Washington, to name a few.
I never had an issue with whatever a restaurant wishes to charge for their entrees or tasting menu but that changed when I ordered a wee dram of single malt scotch at Fiola.
Their prices are in some cases DOUBLE what is charged in the finest hotels and restaurants world wide.
It is unconscionable, unnecessary, and indicates a callous disregard for their clientele of which I will NEVER be counted.

I like Fiola.

I like Fiola.

A lot.

But only al fresco. It is so impossibly loud inside. Ugh.

I attended an event here with a prefix menu so I'm not sure if the food I ate is available on the regular menu but everything was delicious and the service was great. The back room for private events is very pretty as well.

Quite simply, Fiola is the best restaurant I've ever been to in the United States, and quite possibly anywhere. The service was literally unbelievable - Armando was just too good to be true. Food was delicious, original, and tasteful. Well deserving of its Michelin Star, and some other 1-star DC restaurants - Plume, Sushi Taro - suffer in the comparison. Not a restaurant that you can go to frequently - the experience will cost you an arm and a leg - but for a special occasion, Fiola can't be beat. I certainly hope to return.

This is our 1st time ever dining at a Michelin star restaurant and the experience is something that I would never forget in my life. We went for The Sunday Family Table dinner for 2 pax including a bottle of wine. We were served by a few staff instead of one dedicated staff which makes us feel like a King. The San Leo Ravioli is my favourite. It's a simple menu with absolute perfection. Our main course- Whole roasted heritage chicken is way to big for both of us to finish it as we already filled our stomach with ravioli before that so I can't really appreciate the chicken as much as the ravioli. Overall, the experience is very memorable and I would recommend anyone visiting The DC to give Fiola a visit. Online booking is a must.

Amazing food! Perfectly done pasta, wonderful flavors. A little pricey for an everyday lunch, but a wonderful treat. The cocktail menu looks interesting, I look forward to trying dinner here sometime.

For such a renowned restaurant, our dining experience last night was a total letdown.

Our server appeared miserable and upset from the moment we sat - and especially when we informed him we weren't planning to drink.

He disappeared and left us alone for 30 minutes before we could flag him down to take our order.

My mother in law was first to order and went straight to naming her entree. Our server appeared even more agitated and asked "no appetizers!?"

Our appetizers were served in a timely fashion but we sat around for another good 45 mins before the entrees were served. No apology, no explanation. Service itself deserves at most 1 star (for the busboys who refilled our water)

Food - we shared the foie gras, a full entree sized lobster ravioli, and ahi tuna as starters. The foie gras was the winning dish of the night - can't even find words to describe it. Just get it! Lobster ravioli tasted like mushy wonton and only came in 4 pieces? Honesty I can't believe this was their most popular dish. Ahi tuna - way too citrusy and absurd amount of tomato, I would skip.

Main courses
Brodetto - my brother in law and I each ordered this. We agreed that it had a generous amount of seafood but the broth itself added nothing to this dish.

Veal pappardelle - the pasta was way overcooked to a point it was made impossible to fork. And did they not drain the pasta before adding the veal ragu? There was a layer of pasta water towards one side of the dish - bland, mushy mess

Spaghetti Negri - extremely salty, again the pasta was overcooked. The spaghetti morphed into one giant glob.

Steak - my father in law only eats steak well done and stressed on this when placing his order. The steak was at best medium. He didn't touch his steak two bites in.

Desserts
Ricotta donuts - thank goodness for this dessert. Generously sized donut holes with mouth watering raw honey ice cream - could def use bigger scoop!

Chocolate mousse - very rich and more dark chocolatey than expected. Good but nothing memorable.

Overall - I honestly am appalled and embarrassed by the service and food we received - can't believe we waited and saved this restaurant to bring my in laws to. It was a total nightmare (well actually the foie gras and donuts were heavenly), just stay away.

Can't say enough about this place. If I had to complain about one thing it would be that we waited 30 minutes for a table, even with a reservation, although I think that's done on purpose so they can a. Get you to buy a drink at the bar and b. Print a custom menu that reflects the drink you bought at the bar (no lie, nice touch)

We got the 4 course tasting menu which is entirely too much food. Highlights for me: the burrata was amazing, made in the US which according to our waiter is better sometimes. Had a branzino dish that was also amazing. Veggies we're cooked perfectly and it had a creamy sauce with it. The hazelnut dessert is not to miss for chocolate lovers.

We came here without a reservation and we were served immediately. There wasn t much people but only at the bar. Our waiter Mark was super nice because my mom and dad doesn t understand English so our waiter explained the menu because there were many complicated words. I didn t order a course but my mom and dad each ordered a 3 course and dessert to share. We were super full in the end but still managed to eat our dessert. Overall, The food was fabulous and I especially want to thank our server Mark for his funniness and helpfulness. It gave us a really wonderful experience after visiting the US Capitol, museum, and memorial. I would really recommend this restaurant if you are visiting Washington like us.

I have even had a time where a waiter spilled a drink on my date, but was so quick to apologize and clean up. We even got our meal for free. I have been here over 50 times and have never had a bad experience. Overall, this was a fast and great place to visit.

Super delicious food! The drinks are amazing and so is the service. I unfortunately do not have a photo of the two items I would highly recommend - the tiramisu and the lobster bisque. Truly the best I have ever had thus far!

Went for lunch during summer restaurant week 2017
Their burrata was to die for
Most italian places in dc don't do justice to tiramisu and then there's michelin starred fiola's tiramisu; one word- heavenly
Going back soon for a regular dinner
I'm certain this will be my new go-to italian restaurant

I cant always justify paying $100 for 2 entres and desserts, but the food and service was so good. I can see why this place is a Michelin star restaurant. The quality was exceptional, the food was fresh, and the service was unheard of. Great place

Delicious Presto Lunch deal with al dente pasta and cocktail for $20 at the bar!

The complementary compote "salad" was interesting and fun to try while I thoroughly enjoyed the bread basket with salty crunchy flatbread. It was hard to save room for the main course!

The dense rope-like Sardinian Cavetelli was a hit! So glad I tried it as I rarely see it on a menu. It's kind of like gnocchi, but less heavy. The dish was bursting with flavor from the chewy al dente pasta and sweet chunky tomato sauce topped with basil and parmesan cheese. Although I prefer veggies in my pasta, the simple dish truly packs a punch!

The Aperol spritzer was a light and refreshing cocktail, but didn't quite pair well with the pasta. It would be nice if there was a house red wine to complement the pasta as part of the deal.

The Presto Lunch truly delivered on its speedy and friendly service. Great spot for a quick lunch with scrumptious pasta. Excited to come back and bring my coworkers!

Amazing experience! My husband and I felt so special by the staff and they spoiled us so much! It's worth every penny! We probably can't afford to go back for a year but we WILL go back. No question about it! They gave us our menu for the evening and a note from the chef plus a special treat for our anniversary. The chef did a fantastic menu that had is leaving very happy and we are still talking about the dishes three days later!

This place came highly recommended and it was for a good reason. I was truly satisfied with the service as well as the food. I decided against having the seasonal set lunch and instead ordered too many courses for myself. Most courses were recommended and I only found the fish to be average for me. Overall I had a great meal. They even rewarded me a complementary dessert for finishing everything

One of the best Italian dining experiences I have had. Came here for lunch and wish I could do it at least once a month. Most creative cocktail presentations I have seen and the pasta and seafood are beyond expectation.

We went to Fiola to celebrate my promotion and the staff really treated us right. They gave us an amazing table and everyone stopped by to give their congratulations and make sure we were taken care of. The food was phenomenal and the sommelier spent 10 minutes with us helping us pick a bottle. We really enjoyed our visit and will definitely be back again.

The most delicious and upscale Italian in Washington DC. It is a precious United States just because it is delicious Italian, but here we will add an arrangement that will surprise you a bit in addition to the basics. The table is only for the course menu, so be prepared for the cost.

We went here to celebrate our anniversary. The evening began with a personalized menu and ended with a card. The whole night involved amazing food and truly above and beyond service. We have never been treated so well. I would highly recommend fiola for a special night.

I have had the unfortunate experience of eating in this Restaurant last night, besides the Hostess being super sweet and accommodating. The wait staff and the busboys were rude and didn't do well with children. Never asked us if we wanted refills for our drinks (jack and coke and a glass of wine) tried to take the children's food before they were finished. I have been to 5 star restaurants my whole life and this was the worst by far.
