Festival Foods Review

I have been going to festival for a long time now, almost 15 years. My family would always get there ham sandwiches. All of a sudden we get the ham from the ham stand, and to our surprise the ham is not the same we asked them and they said there was no change. I don't want to be fooled with I love the ham but now I will never stop for ham.

If you want to do your finest grocery shopping,go to any festival foods store.they have a lot of good deals.some stuff can be marked a little high though

Daily shopping here is easy because you're in-and-out quickly. We had an issue with a catered event and Lori G "made it right" as soon as she heard about the issue. Excellent service - thank you!

Front entrances are always wide open. But, then 2 carts cant hardly pass each other in the furthest corner away...

Well stocked. Their meat department and bakery are outstanding. All employees were wearing masks.

The store itself is clean but I called the deli once already and told the manager that the workers are not wearing gloves when using the spoons to get the salads for the customers. I mean really gross, are the workers really that lazy that they can't put gloves on? I'm not eating from the deli anymore, who knows what else they've handled without gloves on.

My husband and I were shopping. We had 16 items. Trying to check out through the Liquor department. We had wine and beer plus dinner items. We weren t even to to counter yet and the cashier said too many items , and shoo -ed us away . There were no other customers behind us. I very sarcastically said thank you and as we were walking out to go to the other registers I hear her say loud enough that we could hear walking away You re welcome . Now I love Festival because I have never had anything but outstanding customer service, but this lady, does not need to be working at Festival. Her name as she so very proudly showed me when I went back to ask, was Darryl. Disappointed.

I ordered a sheet cake for our store. An associate had her 20yr Anniversary. The cake was decorated above and beyond what I had given for instructions and was absolutely stunning!!! It tasted great and the price was even better!! Thanks Festival for having it ready, beautiful and being so fast on getting me out the door!!

Best meat counter in the area for variety and service. Burgundy steaks are my husband's favorite.

Convenient location, lots of tellersfor quick checkout.

This store is above average. The only downside is that the prices tend to be a bit high on some items. It is as good as any other grocery store. Walmart is always cheaper on regular groceries...hard to believe..right?. The produce is average...slightly above maybe..it looks good though.
The good
-very friendly staff, very professional staff, the staff is simply the best in town. This is true for the La Crosse and Onalaska store....and Holmen store
-Clean store
-Nice deli
-Really knowledgeable butchers
-Nice bags (bring your own and save 5 cents per bag)
-Liquor selection is good. Beer selection is great. If they are out of a certain one, they will call the other store. Prices are fair.
-Did I mention the people working there seem to be really friendly. They must pay them well...none of my business I guess.
-Also, I emailed them via there "contact us" on the website and the returned my inquiry within an hour. They told me they have it and the exact location in the store..it was awesome.
I have updated this posting after going to this store more. The store is consistently good..which is hard to say for most business.
I am bumping their rating to 5 stars.

One of the best local grocery stores, great selection of fresh produce, large deli, friendly staff.

Store is nice but prices are ridiculous. For some specialty items it's ok, but not for our weekly "big" shopping. Too expensive.

Need to work on the hot deli bar...25 minute wait on items...not the first time.

Very upset this evening with my experience at Onalaska Festival. I ordered a cake at least 2 weeks ago for my daughters 2nd birthday to be picked up tonight. When I came in they had made a 1/4 sheet cake instead of the 1/2 sheet I ordered. The lady said she could take a cake out of the freezer and decorate it like the one I wanted it'd be about 10 minutes. I asked her if it would look just like the small cake and she said yes, the colors would be just a little darker. After a half hour wait she comes out with a cake nothing like the one I had ordered. She tells me that the cake is free because they messed up and she isn't a cake decorator! That was obvious. Now I felt bad for her, it wasn't her fault but I think the best solution would have been to give me the 1/4 sheet cake that was beautifully decorated and a plain 1/4 sheet cake *both free of charge*. I have ordered several cakes from here paying at least $40 a cake and they have been beautiful. But something has changed recently. About a month ago I ordered cupcakes for my other daughters Baptism in the shape of a cross and that experience was something else too. They weren't shaped correctly and her name was spelled wrong. I live 30+ minutes away so it's a drive for me. How disappointing, not sure if I'll order anymore cakes from this bakery. Not happy.

I love Festival Foods. And this one is the best. Huge liquor department with fresh sushi every day. Always friendly staff and reasonable prices.

One thing I really appreciate is that they've been doing the mask thing since well before it became mandatory. Everyone wears masks and does their best to keep everything moving as smoothly as possible, despite the extra precautions. I'm just happy to know that they take this COVID-19 situation seriously, and have been listening to health officials from the very beginning. It makes my shopping experience so much less stressful knowing that they value the health of their employees and customers.

Having been appreciating your specials. Now if you would just bring other prices down. Can't afford to do my bulk shopping there.

My Grandma Olga shopped at the original Skogen' s when Paul Skogen was there. I worked in the original bakery behind that old store with Margaret and Paul. I was also a frequent shopper at Center 90. When you opened the new Festival store I was happy to see your dedicated employees still with you. Your produce is always fresh and the display is always well organized. The deli and meat departments are always well stocked and if something is there I can always order. Your stores are kept clean, your shelves are neat and accessible and your staff are always friendly, smiling and helpful. This is what makes a customer want to return and tell their friends that they should shop there. You have earned and deserve your 5 stars!

All I can say is wow. Awesome selection of bulk goods and deli I really wish there was one of these back home.

I like festival food deli, and vast selection throughout the store, BUT, Bought a apple pie. Totally disappointed, hard apples in it, what is the bakery thinking.

Festival is my go to destination for great deals on groceries. I find their produce and deli areas always clean & well maintained. The rest of the store is clean as well and the staff ate always knowledgeable and helpful.

Expensive!!! Blue Bunny ice cream for $6.50! Another store in town has it for under $4.00!!!

I come here regularly for the outstanding deli. True, the prices are higher than other places in the area, but the store is always clean and the customer service is always excellent.

I like to cone here when I have the munchies and just go crazy man

We used the Onalaska Bakery for our wedding cakes. No complaints about quality! They were beautiful delicious cakes!

My main issue was that we got a quote for our cakes (one small cake on each table) that was about $10/cake. Later someone called us back and told us that if they are "wedding" cakes the price is actually $25/cake due to the fact that they are for a wedding. They worked with us and we ended up paying $12/cake, so it all turned out fine in the end. It's just super ridiculous to me that they would call us back and try to up the price after they realized it was for a wedding!

Again, no complaints on quality at all! they were delicious.

This store has a nice clean atmosphere. The best way to shop here is with their weekly sales. Many of their everyday items are a bit more expensive.

Very good selection of english muffins. I went with the cinnamon/ raisin, which are good day, or night. Make sure you have plenty of butter though, for maximum flavor.

Festival Foods is an Amazing store! Everything you need and all sections with quality foods! And to complete my survey, they have an incredible staff! I was in the self-check out and had quite a few questions. I try to look at name tags but felt so badly that I needed assistance so often, I forgot to look! All I remember was that he had glasses, nice looking, I was there at 2:45, and he was So patient, kind, and helpful! I appreciated him So Much!! Whomever you are, THANK YOU! And You Need a raise!!

Nice enough place, but there isn't much selection for basic items. They were missing some of the herbs I needed, as well as basic Asian food like rice noodles. Also, self checkouts here can be slower than usual.

Festival Foods is a quality grocery and household supply market where the employees hold themselves to a standard as high as the quality of their fresh food. Everyone is friendly and helpful. And you will probably find anything you are looking for, including natural and organic foods and products.

So disappointed that I went to get food and they didn t advertise on the Hot Bar in the deli that the burgers they serve are not well done or show any indication of how they are cooked. My family will not eat rare to the point of being raw food. Such a waste of time and money. I won t being buying from there again.

I've shopped at Festival Foods since moving here in 92. I've never been dissatisfied with products or personal.

Love shopping here!!! The parking lot can be a tad dicey because everyone is coming and going all the time. But their selection is top notch and their deli meats are fantastic and worth every penny!!!

They have a great selection, their workers always have a smile on and greet you.

Good selection of fruits and vegetables. Also has a great Deli and meat Dept.

Prices are pretty high. They do have a nice liquor department!

Festival is always clean and if you don't buy anything not on sale can have real bargains

Great choices of fresh food and packaged / canned goods with great choices from the salad and hot bars.

Lots of groceries. This is a bigger store so don't expect a small store experience. They do have a place for the younger kids to hang out, it is supervised, while you shop.

Great service and selection of grocery items. Priced higher but quality of service and food is worth it.
