Why is FMM not demanding that the government exempt employers from foot 100% of all staff wages and allowances during the MCO? Other governments are offering assistance, Eg Australian government is giving AUD2,200 to each worker. At the rate this is going, most employers, me included, will be starting retrenchment. So, who wins? Everybody loses!
No free lunch in this world.

About Federation of malaysian manufacturers

The Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) is a non-profit organization that represents the voice of the Malaysian manufacturing industry. Established in 1968, FMM has been instrumental in promoting and protecting the interests of its members, which include small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), multinational corporations (MNCs), and large local companies.

FMM serves as a key focal point for those seeking links with Malaysian manufacturers for investment, trade, and services. The organization provides a platform for networking opportunities among its members, government agencies, and other stakeholders. FMM also offers various services to its members such as training programs, business advisory services, market intelligence reports, and advocacy on policy issues affecting the manufacturing sector.

One of FMM's primary objectives is to promote Malaysia as an attractive destination for foreign direct investment (FDI). The organization works closely with government agencies such as the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) to attract investments into the country. FMM also provides assistance to foreign investors by facilitating their entry into Malaysia through its extensive network of contacts in various industries.

In addition to promoting investments into Malaysia, FMM also plays an important role in enhancing trade relations between Malaysia and other countries. The organization organizes trade missions to various countries around the world to promote Malaysian products and services. These missions provide opportunities for Malaysian companies to showcase their products and services while exploring potential business partnerships with foreign companies.

FMM's efforts have contributed significantly towards strengthening Malaysia's position as a leading manufacturing hub in Southeast Asia. The country has attracted significant investments from MNCs across various industries such as electronics, automotive parts manufacturing, medical devices production among others due largely because of FMM’s efforts.

Apart from promoting investments into Malaysia and enhancing trade relations between countries; another key area where FMM focuses on is providing support for SMEs within the manufacturing sector. SMEs form an integral part of Malaysia’s economy but often face challenges when it comes to accessing financing or navigating regulatory requirements; this is where organizations like FFM come in handy by providing guidance on how these businesses can overcome these challenges.

In conclusion:
The Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers plays a crucial role in representing the voice of manufacturers within Malaysia while at same time promoting investment opportunities both locally & internationally through networking events & training programs offered by them.
Their focus on supporting SMEs within this sector ensures that they remain competitive despite facing numerous challenges along their journey towards growth & success.
With over 50 years’ experience under their belt coupled with strong relationships built over time; it’s no wonder why they are considered one amongst few organizations capable enough not only representing but also advocating policies that benefit all stakeholders involved within this industry!
