worst school in the county by far in my opinion. this place should have renovated years ago whats left is dirty equipments and outdated desk dating back to who knows when. school spirit is to none, selectively talkative rude people and lunch that shouldnt be called lunch
Corrupt administration that has a racial bias and no appreciation for their guitar program. Also lacking decent and competent school security. Most of the doors are unlocked during the school day and the visitors must sign in thing wasn t really enforced when I went there. Also the new parking lot design has less space than the old one, why they did this i have no idea but it s probably because the fairfax county government is inefficient and ineffective at solving problems and making improvements. When there s a good amount of roads that are practically dirt roads because of the amount of potholes and they decide to do overpriced renovations that are mainly cosmetic you know there s a problem. Oh also mold in the trailer park that s also falling apart, not cool guys.
Racist school. Suppressing the voices of their students. They need help. The type of school that should lose funding.
Only 3 spaces for handicapped parking close to the school gymnasium.

School is a current construction zone. Eune says "The school isn't organized, I have no idea when things are happening. Complete mess, ceilings leak, trek to trailers is horrible during rain, social environment is filled with fake people. Only redeeming quality is that i have some pretty nice teachers." Great school. The only problem is that everyone thinks it's much worse than it actually is.
The P.E. coach from 1989...yeah...me too :-( And whoever was teaching prealgebra in 1989 had a propensity for violence, slamming a kid's desk into the wall while the kid was still sitting in the desk. I was glad my family moved and I got to complete high school somewhere else.
Food is good, but the A.C is a pinch on the cold side.
This school is racist. Its Principal and Administration should be fired per the story floating around the web. Black History Month is everyone's History. To purposely persuade your students into thinking it is optional and not educational is to mislead and demean people of color and the very students you purport to teach. It is MANDATORY that people of this country learn ALL of its history, the black, the white and the ugly. By no means should racist ignorant comments be tolerated in any place of learning. Bullying is the word for that. And that exactly the atmosphere this school perpetuates.

Great academics available for kids that want to learn. Had experience at Mount Vernon and Hayfield. West Springfield is academically superior by far - ranked 8th in the state and 335th in the country. Great sports programs too. State champs in baseball and cross country. School has yielded several All-Americans in track and field over the years.
Both my kids graduated from WSHS (2012 & 2014) and had a great experience! WSHS was rated number 10 best high schools in VA and I found this school FAR better than any of the schools the kids or even I attended in CA. No school is perfect of course, but I am grateful I picked these schools when we moved out here from the West coast!
The weight room is the best part about this school! It's old school type, with 8 squat racks on one side and dumbbells on the other plus weight plates, kettle bells, and other basic equipment. The personal fitness teacher, Mr. Campbell, is very smart intellectually and very strong physically. Most of the teachers are very helpful and you could go for help after school and they'll be happy to help you. I'm gonna miss this school a lot.
