FATE Foundation is a non-profit private-sector led organisation that was established in March 2000 with the aim of addressing the high rate of unemployment and poverty in Nigeria. The foundation is committed to harnessing the strong entrepreneurial culture of Nigerians and providing them with the knowledge and support required to fully explore their innovative potential.

The foundation's mission is to foster wealth creation by promoting entrepreneurship, creating jobs, and empowering entrepreneurs through training, mentoring, networking opportunities, access to finance, and other support services. FATE Foundation believes that entrepreneurship is key to unlocking economic growth and reducing poverty in Nigeria.

Over the years, FATE Foundation has become a leading voice in promoting entrepreneurship development in Nigeria. The foundation has trained over 10,000 entrepreneurs across various sectors of the economy since its inception. These entrepreneurs have gone on to create thousands of jobs for Nigerians while contributing significantly to economic growth.

FATE Foundation's approach is unique as it focuses on developing entrepreneurs who are not only successful but also socially responsible. The foundation believes that entrepreneurship should be used as a tool for social change by creating businesses that solve societal problems while generating profits.

The foundation offers various programmes designed for different stages of an entrepreneur's journey. These programmes include:

1) Aspiring Entrepreneurs Programme (AEP): This programme targets individuals who have an idea but lack the skills or resources required to start their own business. It provides them with basic business training and mentorship support.

2) Emerging Entrepreneurs Programme (EEP): This programme targets early-stage businesses that require support in areas such as strategy development, financial management, marketing etc.

3) Growing Businesses Programme (GBP): This programme targets established businesses looking for opportunities for growth through access to finance or market linkages.

4) Alumni Connect: This programme provides ongoing support for FATE alumni through networking events, mentorship opportunities etc., ensuring they continue on their entrepreneurial journey successfully.

In addition to these programmes, FATE Foundation also runs several initiatives aimed at promoting entrepreneurship development in Nigeria such as:

1) Annual Entrepreneurship Conference: A platform where stakeholders come together annually from across Africa’s ecosystem including investors & funders; policymakers; incubators & accelerators; academia; corporates; media among others

2) ScaleUp Lab Agribusiness Accelerator Program: An accelerator program focused on supporting agribusinesses scale up operations

3) Youth Entrepreneurship Support Program (YES-P): A partnership between Bank Of Industry (BOI), Nigerian Youth Employment Action Plan(NYEAP), International Labour Organisation(ILO), United Nations Development Programme(UNDP), CBN Entrepreneurial Development Institutions(EDIs)

4) Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Programme(TEEP): An annual program which selects 1000 African startups each year from over 54 African countries providing seed capital ($5k per startup).

5) StartUP Friday: A monthly event series aimed at bringing together startups founders/entrepreneurs within specific industries e.g fintechs/startups within Lagos State

Fate Foundation has received numerous awards both locally and internationally recognising its impact towards building sustainable enterprises across Africa including being named one of Top Non-Profit Organisations In Africa by NGO Advisor consecutively since 2016 till date
