Beautiful course, well maintained. I see a lot of reviews saying it's a tough course, I'm a very average player (90s,) and I thought with the wide fairways it was pretty forgiving. Not the cheapest course to play, but in my opinion its WELL worth the couple of extra bucks.

Normally, I'd give this course a positive rating but the course conditions, especially the greens, don't live up to expectations when considering the $60 greens fee. Get real, I understand that summer can stress a course but a fee adjustment is in order.

The fairways are awesome. The ball sits up on the thick velvety carpet. The 16th par-three hole offers a stunning descending visual backdrop. The club house is grand and the staff attentive and welcoming.

Fairways, tee boxes and greens are in great shape. There are a few rough spots from carts. We got a decent price that was worth the course. Fairly easy and straightforward course with some narrow fairways and bends.

The course can play pretty easy from the blue tees. Not a lot of length to it and the fairways are pretty wide. The course conditions are fair most of the time. The greens generally roll pretty true. It can stay wet for a while after raining. The prices are right in the range for this class of golf course.

Great course. Links style & fairly wide open (forgiving). TONS of sand traps - guarding almost every green & in the fairway as well. Awesome lodge-style banquet room and bar. Nice pro shop. Definitely recommended.

Why aerate your greens labor day weekend? That plus the very spotty tee boxes made for a round that wasn t close to worth the price. When the greens are that bad it s not even golf. Go to a pitch and putt in that case. You ll find better deals and courses in a lot of other places.

Easily my favorite course in the metro Saint Louis area..hands down. From the challenging yet scoreable design, to the outstanding facilities and friendly professional staff, Far Oaks will always be my number 1 course. I ve been fortunate enough to play a lot of courses all over the Midwest and Far Oaks is still the best. I highly suggest playing 18 if you are in town, you won t regret it!

Course in decent condition. That is the best thing I can say.
Perhaps they had a frost delay on 10/31 because it was a 5.5 hour round of golf! AND / OR adjust your tee times when it is Cart Path Only!!!
Waited on every tee. Beverage cart non-existent on back nine which only made the waiting worse.

What a shame!! The greens are in terrible shape due to golfers not repairing their ball marks. I just played yesterday, 9/7/2016 and I cannot recall a single green not being so severely pock-marked that we did not have to move our golf balls in order to try and find a decent line of putt to the hole.

However, the fairways are as great as usual and a delight to play from. The bunkers are maintained but golfers still need to rake the bunkers after playing from them.

All in all, golf there was a pleasant experience with the exception of those ball mark riddled greens.

Played a round of golf here on Sunday. It wasn't my first trip of the year as I frequent their course, but it was in fantastic shape! Prices are fair, staff is friendly, and course is always in great shape for the season. If you're looking for a fun challenge at a very reasonable price, give them a go! Highly recommend.

Greens are in terrible shape. About half of each green was dead and browned out; however, there was no discount given on price or even a heads up from the pro shop when we checked in. Weeds were growing into each green and majority of the rough.

It s a shame because this was my favorite public course in the StL area but it s gone down hill in recent years. I might given it another shot next year but I assume my money will be better spent elsewhere.

What a wonderful course. Tough for a beginner like me but a very enjoyable experience. The greens had been recently aerated - not completely smooth but more slow. Could definitely tell under normal conditions they roll pretty true.

The greens are in very rough shape to start out the 2020 season. This course is typically my go to for my weekend rounds, so I do hope management finds a way to address the issue. The layout is beautiful, fun, challenging, but rewarding for well-placed shots. The greens here used to be pure and smooth as glass. I would rate the course 5 stars once the greens are fixed.

Course layout aside (which is the worst I ve seen for $60 round), This is course is simply not worth the money. Greens are slow, greens are fast, greens are green, greens are dead sick brown. Go elsewhere for the money.

Played it this morning. I couldn't believe how bad the condition of this course was. Almost every green was either diseased or just burnt up. At least 50% of the bunkers hadn't been serviced in what looked like weeks. Most fairway bunkers were "grounds under repair". But that wasn't all. The general maintenance of the course was poor. I thought I was playing Fox Creek, but I have to admit that Fox Creek is actually in better shape right now than Far Oaks. This was an elite course for a long time. I hope that they can pour some money into this thing and get it back to where it was. By the way, the price was $60 per player. In the condition that it's in I can''t believe they have the nerve to charge that amount.

The setting is very nice with some scenic holes. The fairways were in pretty good shape. The greens were overall pretty bad. The condition definitely impacted putting. Many of the bunkers have been completely abandoned and are overgrown with weeds and have brush thrown in them. I needed to purchase balls, but they do not carry Titleist for some reason - maybe carry higher end equipment and you can put some money into the greens. I likely will not go back.
