Aurora Theatre Company Review

Small and unique venue. Saw a great play called the Royal.

Despite being the only one there under the age of 60, it was a fun evening. Love the small, intimate stage and amount of creativity that can transform it.

A great, local Berkeley theatre company presenting original productions of plays and musicals. Situated next door to Berkeley Repertory, the Aurora Theatre Company has one mid-size thrust theatre and one black box theatre.

Great venue. No more than four rows away from the stage. Great casting and everything from the classics to avant-garde. And with all the really good places to eat in the area it always makes for an excellent evening.

Love the Aurora! Amazing performances in an intimate space. Stacy Ross was mesmerizing in "The Year of Magical Thinking".

Terrific small theater. Consistently good to excellent performances (including the current Master Harold and the Boys by Fugard). With a thrust stage and always careful blocking, hardly a bad seat in the house (although the seats at our near the bottom of the "U" are the best).

This was my first experience with Aurora Theater and I was treated right at home. I received the best seat in the house while coming in one hour prior to showing. Yahhhhh.

This is like your best friends house - casual, friendly and always entertaining. The intimacy provides a much different, and in some ways better, experience than going into the City or even Broadway. If you are any type of patron of the arts, this is a must go. Also - loved Dry Powder.

The staff was VERY helpful, understanding and accommodating with my LAST minute disability needs and seating.

Went to a reading of a new play. Not great but quite interesting and I hope to see more.

An interesting alternative to the nearby Berkeley Repertory Theatre. The productions are more modest, but they can take more chances because of it.

We have been subscribers since 2011 and have never seen a bad play here..all plays have been topical, creatively staged, and well performed. innovative and thought provoking. Consistently the Best theatre experience possible. Go to the Aurora Theatre.

Love the intimate theater experience ...but their ticket office staff needs to be nicer...pro tip: they often run ticket discount specials...so ask! Recently...you could purchase half price tickets in exchange for donating canned food!

Good plays and good actors. But all seats except those in the front row do not have enough legroom - and I'm only 5' 7" tall.

Very good theatre. Possibly the best in the East Bay.

Went to see a classmate perform and the show was AWESOME. The Theater is very close and personal. There is NO bad seat anywhere in this place. The stage is dead Center you will love it. We will be back.

Aurora Theatre is a great venue for classical and contemporary productions. We are long-term subscribers. Always come away with something to discuss. Go! It's a good ticket.

Beautiful small arena theatre with fabulous shows, recently attended bull in a China shop... Wow beautiful performance . The only thing but don't want to make a fuss but not really large wheel chair user friendly so call ahead a book a place and the friendly staff will help you out on arrival.
