Family Violence Prevention Services Review

They make a mockery of prevention services. Turn over was high. During a 20 week span, I had 4 different instructors. A waste of grant funds.

I highly recommend this place for multiple services but specifically for legal aid. It might take some time because I m sure they re behind like everyone else with increased DV cases across the country but if you re blessed to get assistance thru here for legal they will treat you with respect, compassion and fight for you! I will forever be thankful to the attorney who spent a lot of time and hard work on my very complicated and difficult case. Unfortunately I ve had multiple attorneys over the years regarding issues with my ex and my attorney thru the family violence services center worked harder on my case then all of them combined. Not only did he work relentlessly on me and my daughters behalf but he did so with a compassionate and supportive approach with complete recognition of our circumstances and all that brought us to the family violence center. Thank you to him and everyone here for all your help!

I only went for a friend who had a meeting there. She says the place is helpful when needed. If you have family issues or need assistance, call them or go by to see if you(or someone you know) might just benefit from the inquiry.

I Graduated from the domestic violence class there yesterday n this time i learned a lot more then 2 years ago n Alexa heard me out i liked been in her class

Kicked me and my children out of the shelter out 1st for trying to get someone to help me out with my car then they say is was beacuse i didnt go to orientation that i wasnt even aware of. They were trying to blame the orientation on me but honest to god they never told me anything. I felt like i was discriminated. They didnt like me for some reason. If they really were trying to help they should've owned up to their mistake. (Was only there less then a week)

Honestly if you're going here for any kind of aide that isn't a class, don't bother. After my husband severely injured me and hospitalized me multiple times, I was denied protective orders - multiple times, for provable, admissible, admitted to abuse - and legal aid for divorce/custody. I don't actually know why they're open or what they do, lol. Save your time and file with TRLA or go to another county if at all possible.

After a year here and using all their services....which if you are not aware, they receive huge donations when their services are used.... After all this...I was exited with nothing!!!! They got their money and i left with literally nothing! Thank you Paige!!!! Thank you for you mental and verbal abuse. And to all the staff.... Thank you for contributing to all the woman's drama. When arriving to this place for a parenting class I got an email for checkin another thing in the (EMAIL) it says to bring your own lunch your own food ). So a week prior to starting the class I confirmed it of course.
The email stated where the place was & to go to the back of the building & be there at 8:19 no later showing up I arrived at that time earlier waited outside & no one answered the door till after 8:30 .
There was a sign to ring the bell (GREEN) light means to come in . So I rang it & I still had to wait till someone came to the door ? Ridiculous because I stated I had confirmation to be inside , at a certain time . I m 6 months pregnant so they had me waiting outside on the steps 15 minutes now . Then this lady opens the door I (SIGN) in but not a time sheet my name ) signature more like . But I still can t go inside because the lady said she has no key but then a few minutes waiting I can go inside ) so I m already lost to where what s going on .. later on that day here comes lunch 11:30-12:30 I ask if I can use the microwave then the lady says oh I can heat up your food & bring it out to you ? So I get up the mothers are getting up to leave to get their lunch & I go to the staff area I did see the sign but I didn t think it would be a problem to heat up my food , so I m about to put my food in the microwave the same lady approached me and says I can heat up your food she didn t say anything about i can t be in there , due to covid or anything in the nature .
I responded & said I don t feel comfortable with you touching my food!!
So she stands right by the door & said okay after I said that . So she literally waited till I was done which was 5minutes exactly.
Then a few times I used the restroom there & their isn t no running water to wash my hands . Just hand sanitizer on the table they have in the restroom.
But I was told that I could use the men s restroom because the water works ?
Mind you their isn t no men ) just all women there that I have seen . I went into the men s restroom to just rinse out my tuba-were where my spaghetti was in !
& I brought a chimichanga I throw that away in the class because it wasn t properly heated up the way I like it from the lady watching me I felt uncomfortable.
During the class mind you it s a parenting class . & a few of the mothers are there because they were sent their or heard about it ) my opinion. & a few of the women talked a little bit about why they are there & their case & their kids . So one of the ladies who s just observing the speaker who was the same lady who watched me heat up my food ) smh on that once again . Well she made a comment literally stopped everyone from talking due to the time being limited & their case is something they have no control of & because well we all have our differences to why we are there .
So both these women obviously have no kids they wouldn t understand why we wanted to share our information even have them listen to us !
So seeing that I had to make a comment & say this is a parenting class why shouldn t we talk about our experiences? They are supposed to give us advice even ? I was so fed up with that unprofessional work there & how they both handled that situation. So she tells me if I have any questions let her know & talk to her & the end of the class ..
After coming back from our break /lunch a few moms approach me & say thank you for saying something & I was shocked & surprised because I was thinking well maybe they didn t agree or they would be against me ?? So I said well that wasn t right for them lady s to stop them all from talking ..
Overall I don t recommend THIS place for no one . No one should do any parenting class without experience like these women they should really get a real job with experience) & have another job line up because nobody learned anything from that class to be honest this place doesn t help people all they do is turn down even the perpetrators & judge the victims .

They don't get back very rude... communion suks email should my take long to receive to get a zoom code ...
