I came here stuggling with anger issues, anxiety, drug abuse, family problems and much more but Sarah the IOP teacher always found a way to give me a new prespective to all the things going on in my life, opening up new oppurtunities to make new decisions to benefit me and the people around me. <3

I can t say enough good things about this place. The staff are so caring, can relate and fight for your recovery. I will forever be greatful for the treatment I received. They set me up with an awesome after care plan, medications and information I need to be successful on my journey. I would highly recommend Fairbanks to anyone who is battling addiction.
Amazing staff and facility! They are one of the oldest centers in the country. Their is a reason they are so successful! Words can't really express the gratitude!
This place is all about the money. Their sober living will try their hardest to put you back impatient just to get more money. There is also a lot of people in their sober living using substances. Some staff is is wonderful other are absolutely awful
I tried to admit my father here after he asked to go. I told them he experiences seizures and confusion during withdrawal and they advised me to send him to the ER to get him medically cleared. The ER medically cleared him but kept him an hour later because he was starting to experience withdrawal symptoms. After giving him medication to ease his symptoms we had to wait until the next day to take him to his admission appointment. After about two hours they told him they would not be able to admit him because he was sober by the time he got there and was not experiencing withdrawals! They then proceeded to tell me that his seizures and confusion are likely caused by something else even though I was clear to them that all the medical professionals he had seen up to that point determined that his seizures and confusion were infact a symptom of his withdrawal and if they weren t that the only way to determine what was actually going on was if he were to get sober. Also, how could a professional who works in a rehab facility not know that seizures were common with withdrawals, especially with heavy long term drinkers And how would they not know that it can take up to 6 hours for an alcoholic to even begin experiencing withdrawals? On top of that the hospital that is connected them who have evidence of him experiencing withdrawals the day before wasn t enough evidence for them. So Instead they gave numbers to other rehab facilities. These people do not know what they are doing and clearly you have to be drunk on arrival and have extensive knowledge of your past withdrawal symptoms to get in.
It takes on average 4 plus hours to get signed in. They don't tell you this. You can be there 3 hours and need critical detox meds and they do nothing. You don't even connect with the doctor until the 4th hour at which point they will not accept you because the person is too strung out. It is terrible to see a loved one go through so much. They want help and need it only to be turned away. I could never recommend this place unless you have 4 to5 hours to answer the same questions from 5 different people.
This place saved my life. The staff genuinely care and want to see you succeed in your recovery. And a lot of them are in recovery as well. The detox part is crucial of course, because that is where I personally had a realization of what I wanted to do with my life, but a lot of the hard work comes through the outpatient programs and meetings outside of inpatient. But the staff are amazing and help you get to that point. I have so many great things to say about this place and would recommend it to anyone. Everyone is great, all the way from the intake staff to the Hope Academy & SLP staff. Thank you Fairbanks for helping me get my life back!
This is a business. They are all about the money, but the staff was amazing!! They were friendly, understood my situation, and are serious about recovery from addiction. The staff also fought very hard with my insurance company to make sure that u was covered and taken care of. Thank you so much for all your help.
My husband was seen there for alcohol abuse. When we initially talked to counselor, nurse we explained that he was deaf and it was difficult to hear especially in groups. Was told they also had a phone so when he was able speak to the family it would translate into written words, because of his severe hearing loss. After being there for 5 day he was very frustrated, he was put into group session where her couldn't understand what was said. There was no phone for him to communicate with the family. Eventually he told the personal that he wanted to leave. When my daughter picked him up the therapist that was there when he left told they couldn't help him due to his deafness. I would not recommend to anyone, once in everything is a different story. All about money not helping a person overcome there addiction.
It s a descent place other then my loved one not receiving the correct information he needed to know until he asked multiple people for several days before they would locate the counselor or financial advisor to come to him to answer his questions. Also their communication within each other sucks! Was told multiple lies from the counselor and she didn t even relay a message of a family member dying as it was urgent for him to know until he called us on his own time and we had to inform him then.
Spoke with people in great detail of my daughters diagnosis and medications prior to bringing her for assessment. Spent the entire day and I mean the entire day having this assessment done only for them to day that her depression created a dual rehabilitation need and they are not dual facility. How about you telll someone that prior to wasting the entire day only to turn them away.
The volunteers is what makes this facility run... Or the counselors who was once patients. When I arrived I went cause basically my only other option was jail so I was trying to get in an out quickly. Then once I was to the last few days of detox, I was actually wanting to try to live sober. They do try to give u the tools to stay sober and encourage u to do the sober living after care but the only bad part about this detox center is that it's half for ur sobriety half for the facilities finances. I had HIP an was only covered 8 days yet paid 75 cash before they allowed me to stay. Then by the time I was serious they discharged me
It s hard to stay sober in Fairbanks Sober Living when your roommates are shooting up. I did notice that when I bought them groceries, they didn t use. The house supervisor was quick to whip out the breathalyzer. He should have been as quick to whip out the food and hygiene supplies.
There not very honest or truthful about the question you have on the phone with them and you'll find that out when actually talk to counselor at your first appointment.
Absolutely love this place. This place saved my life. Dr Kelly and his wife are so wonderful. I recommend to anyone that needs help in addiction to go here. Life saver. Never forget what this place done for me.
The facility is clean and very well ran. Fairbanks is not like any other treatment I have stayed at in the past. The staff is professional, friendly, informative, and actually take personally each patients' care in & out of the program. I was supposed to go to another program after leaving Fairbanks, but when I went to the other place I stayed one night and left because it didnt even come CLOSE to the care i received at Fairbanks. I also made lifelong friends at Fairbanks Detox. If you are searching for a detox facility that understands your needs as an addict/alcoholic or have a family member struggling, you need not search any further. Shout out to Charlo, Tamika, Kevin, and all the staff who aided my recovery! I'm excited to keep walking this path thanks to all of you.
This place saved my life! People here actually care that you get better!! Most have been through detox here themselves and work here now!! I would still be in hell with my addiction if it wasn t for Fairbanks Recovery Center! It works if you work it!!!!
This place is amazing. I was scared to death to go there but the staff welcomed me with open arms and professionalism. The group meetings were very helpful and educational. If you're having addiction problems I would highly recommend this place. Very well organized and it is just a warm and welcoming place. They got me (Jared) through and got me home and helped me get my head clear. I'm very grateful for this place!
Tried to take my brother here and was told it s first come first serve . Even though we called and they said they were still taking admissions in reality they just wanted to leave. So im sure as long as you come during day hour you will be taken care of. Anyone who knows someone who is dealing with addiction knows addicts are impulsive and change there minds often. So hopefully in 12 hours he still is in the same mindset as he was last night, but who knows. These are people who need help and you just send them home because it s late and you don t want to wait? Thanks for nothing Fairbanks.
This place is absolutely hands down the worst facility I have ever been to in my life. They transferred me out to a different facility after 5 days and the driver got completely lost for over 3 hours. I tried calling them back to help us and they hung up on me 5 different times. I would recommend a homeless shelter before I would recommend this awful facility.
