FHCHC provides outstanding person-focused service ...

FHCHC provides outstanding person-focused service to the residents of Fair Haven, serves as a thought partner to neighborhood institutions, partners and champions community initiatives, and seeks to strengthen their work. I am proud to call myself a patient of this clinic.

FHCHC is the worst healthcare organization I have ...

FHCHC is the worst healthcare organization I have ever had the experience of dealing with. I have worked in the medical field for 15 years & along with my personal medical care I can confidently say that FHCHC deserves ZERO stars. I only gave them 1 because the post requires it.

I am not a patient of FHCHC (thank goodness), but my elderly, handicapped father is a patient. Unfortunately, because of his insurance he does not have many options & therefore he is basically stuck with this place.

Every time I need to make an appointment or bring him to an appointment there is always a problem. First of all, you can t speak to anyone directly. You can only call the main line & wait on hold forever. When you finally talk to someone, many times, they are rude & unprofessional. They are also not very helpful & have given me the wrong information or guidance multiple times.

My father has extensive health issues & has to see a variety of specialists. His PCP is not very knowledgeable & dismisses the recommendations of the specialists as if they are unnecessary. There is always an issue with refilling his medications because his PCP is only approving 1 refill at a time. These are medications he takes on a daily basis. And we are talking bp meds not painkillers so I don t know why his doctor is not writing a year s worth to last him until his annual visit.

My father cannot drive so I go with him to all of his appointments. Recently, while driving to one of his appointments, my GPS took me the wrong way. I knew we would be late, but also realized it would be pointless to call & give them a heads up because by the time I would have gotten to speak to someone we would have been there already. When we checked in at the front I apologized for being 8 minutes late & explained my conundrum with the GPS... I was then told that the doctor would not see my father because we were late & he would need to reschedule.

FHCHC will make you wait HOURS in the waiting room (& I have seen other patients experience this), but god forbid you aren t at your appointment on the dot. We are usually always on time. My father never no shows to his appointments & rarely cancels. He is a compliant patient because I make sure of it. I find it absolutely appalling the way FHCHC operates & I can t imagine what it s like for other people that have no help with their medical care or have no choice but to deal with these people.

The dentist requires a covid test a few days prior to every appointment. This makes no sense. He can get covid within the 2 day period from his test to his appointment. My dentist does not do this and I don t know of any dental office, or any doctor for that matter, that does either. My father has been vaccinated & they still require a test. I do what I need to because my dad s health is important. I am easily able to take him to an appointment any where at any time because I make my own schedule. What about people with 9-5 jobs? Or people with disabilities (like my dad) who can t get around as easily? I can t believe that they are expected to have to get a test and an appointment all within a limited window.

Which brings me to my next problem with FHCHC. We recently went to the testing center on East Street (not by choice - it was required & scheduled by the dental office). It s in a building next to a construction site. The parking lot is inconveniently located on the opposite side of the building. The sidewalk leading into the site was destroyed, uneven, unpaved & even helping my father walk did not prevent him from almost tripping & falling a few times. When his test was completed I had him wait in the building so I could pull up to get him instead of having him risk falling on the walk back. I was then told I could not pull my car up & had to park my car across the street. How could they have a testing site in a location that is not accommodating for the handicapped?

I could go on, but I d be here for days. All I have to say is stay as far away from FHCHC as you possibly can. THEY SUCK.
