The Faculty included the Higher Technical School, which has been operating as an independent institution since 1988. As a result of noticing the connection between the importance of computer science and informatics with other fields of technology, from the school year 1992-1993. New teaching groups were represented at the Technical Faculty in the following years:

graduate electrical engineers for mechatronics and professors of engineering and informatics.

Continuous improvement of teaching activities and modernization of curricula has resulted from the 1998/1999 school year. years in new directions: computer engineering and industrial management, where graduate electrical engineers for computer engineering and graduate engineers of industrial management were educated.

Due to the transformation of the economic environment and the sharp increase in the number of small and medium enterprises, the need for entrepreneurial education was noticed. With the accreditation of the Faculty and study programs in 2009, it was confirmed that the Technical Faculty has fully harmonized the educational process with the European system of higher education. In October 2012, the faculty changed its name to the Faculty of Technical Sciences.
