The Faculty of Technical Sciences in a ak is part of the University of Kragujevac. It was founded in 1975 as a pedagogical-technical faculty.
It was founded in 1975 as the Faculty of Pedagogy and Technology with specializations that educated future professors of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and technical education.

The educational activity was expanded in 1982, when the education of graduated mechanical and electrical engineers began. The faculty developed in accordance with the development of the economic environment. Constant scientific-research work and innovation of study programs were the reason for this educational-scientific institution to change its name to the Technical Faculty- a ak in 1986. The professional titles acquired at the Technical Faculty in that period were:

Bachelor of Electrical Engineering for Industrial Energy Bachelor of Electrical Engineering for Power Systems Mechanical Engineer Electrical Engineer Professor of Technical Education.

The Faculty included the Higher Technical School, which has been operating as an independent institution since 1988. As a result of noticing the connection between the importance of computer science and informatics with other fields of technology, from the school year 1992-1993. New teaching groups were represented at the Technical Faculty in the following years:
