I went in there for an annual exam. It went well and the doctor provided a lot of information about the state of my eyes. However, after the exam they did charge me a $40 fee for an additional exam procedure, though it was not clearly specified what it was for. The doctor and her assistant should have provided this information to me before I went into the exam and asked if I agree to pay this fee. This definitely spoiled my overall experience with this office.

Dr. Kha is just amazingly caring and excellent eye doctor. I felt well served as I visited for annual eye check. Her exams as well as feedback is thorough. Highly recommended.
Went for our annual exam and Dr Kha was alright. Here are a few reasons because of which I had to give 2 stars:
1. The glasses I picked up had a price tag of $299 and that didn't seem right. I spent a few minutes asking questions on why it is expensive than some of the better models. It was at this time they did a double check and confirmed that it was incorrectly priced and that the correct price is $210. While I appreciate the fact that they corrected it, I have now lost trust. If I had not asked them, I'd have gotten charged $299.
2. Chaotic, especially on Saturday. Expect a chaotic experience if you show up on Saturday. They try to answer everyone at the same time and end up doing a terrible job. I don't want to get to the details but all three of them contribute to it - the gentleman, front desk lady, and the doctor.
3. Appointment Cancelation - be aware that the cancelation fee is $25. They never said this when we booked the appointment. Although they waived it for us as a one-time courtesy, it is important they clarify when making the appointment.
I don't know what other surprises await me when I go to pick up the glasses.
The facilities are fine and the doctor is good but they will try to prescribe you with a prescription in 1/8 increments instead of 1/4 increments which while it may be more accurate, 90% of shops can not fill 1/8 prescriptions. So be careful because you may just spend hours of your life shopping for the right pair of glasses somewhere else just to be told that you can t get your prescription filled and that you need to go get it represcribed. Unless you buy your glasses at eye city of course, then you can get a 1/8 prescription filled. Seems like a shady tactic that they dont explain this upon receiving your prescription - so just double check if you decide to go to these guys for an eye exam.
Had a good experience on my first visit. Got a same day appointment on a weekend which is rare and the doctor took the time to separate the different problems I was having with my vision. She took extra time to explain each condition based on my symptoms.
I had to follow up with an opthalmologist and a neurologist and her initial diagnoses was correct.
Couple of issues: getting the prescription glasses took 3-4 weeks. I realized later that chain stores could deliver the same prescription in 2 weeks. But hey, supporting local businesses is better. Staff at the front desk was confused, they told me the glasses had not been delivered even after 4 weeks while they actually had them already. To their credit they did call me back. Finally, I needed a referral to see an opthalmologist at UCSF, which I got on short notice, but it included just a summary statement without the raw technical results. Partly due to this, I had to get the same tests done again at UCSF. Maybe this is the norm, but it cost me more of my deductible.
All things considered, I do plan to go back to them.
I highly recommend Eye City Optometry. Dr. Kha suggested more comfortable contacts for me and always does a thorough exam and explains everything clearly. Her staff are professional and efficient. I have been a customer for years and plan to continue using this office.
Very professional and kind! The doctor explained more to me about my eyes and why my vision is the way it is than any eye doctor ever has! She actually believed my last doctor had over-corrected me on my prescription and didn't want my eyes to be strained with that and is going back down on my prescription. She explained why she thought that and the importance of not straining my eyes, and possibly gave me the diagnosis for my frequent headaches in the last year! I had attributed them to the masks, but we will see if it had more to do with my excessive prescription.
Wow, Dr Kha was amazing. Very patient throughout the eye exam. The exam did not feel rushed, she explained stuff very well and asked if I had any questions later. The whole experience was super friendly and nice.
The opticians at the reception were amazing and very professional as well. Great experience (as far as eye exams go!). 10/10 would recommend.
It s always a pleasant visit there, the staff are very friendly a knowledgeable with all my questions, I highly recommend this establishment to anyone.
