I love this place. Sound is great and it's HUGE so there's room to get crazy with my dance moves. Only reason they aren't 5 stars for me is cuz the staff are all kinda dickish.. but whatever! Whenever an artist I like is here I try my best to make it out there always have a fantastic time.

I am a fan of many artists who play at this venue and the visuals are top notch, however I have had multiple issues with the incredibly rude staff at this club. Misdirection with which line to stand in for entry (and then forced to change lines after making it all the way to the front due to their own misdirection, and I made sure to confirm multiple times). I had a previous issue where I set my drink down on the counter and it was thrown about by staff right behind my back and they refused to replace it. The hosts and promoters at the front are absolutely rude and ungrateful for the business they receive and I have not once heard a Thank you for coming or have a good night when leaving the place. The volume is also excessively loud compared to any other club I ve been to. I have not had any of these issues when attending any of the other local nightclubs and they are all grateful for my business.
We took a cab there because it's in a sketchy neighborhood. Would definitely feel unsafe walking alone, so would recommend being in a group or paying that bit extra for a cab. Got there around 10:30 and there was no line, but we did have to pay $15 cover. Coat check available upstairs -- a friend checked something and the line to retrieve his jacket was pretty long at the end of the night.
One of the bouncers refused to let me in after my ID was verified by the police. Told me that my ticket was refundable and that I could get my money back. The ticket was not refundable and proceeded to take bribes
One of the best dance clubs in LA! The Exchange building in Downtown is the perfect venue for all things Electronic music! A must if you love house, trance, or all things EDM!
horrible Club, security at door are the most uneducated, unprofessional young hoodlums with no class, and dont even think that other staff will ever help you they will harrass you and kick you out thinking their best interest is the customer attendee. Will make a complait and hope they take disiplinary actions, of course not, they will lier
My friends and I went to this bar last night, and we greatly enjoyed it. The place was not crowded, elegant, and nice. Besides, the waiters/waitresses were very accommodating, nice, and patient to the customers. Eventually, we agreed that we will come back here sooner or later. Thank you so much for the remarkable day you brought to us. Great service!
I really liked Soy fried chicken. The amount was adequate and the server was really nice. The amount of dish is good enough for the price. It is the perfect place to go with friends and family. I will definitely recommend this place to anyone
This is hands down the best dance experience I've had in LA. Gone are the days where I feel like I have to put on 10 lbs of eye make up and a glitter dress and teetering platform heels to go out in Los Angeles. Bootie LA, instead, is straight forward: here is a dance floor, here is the bar, and here is some freaking awesome music. Have an excellent night.
Overpriced, understaffed, rude and abusive bouncers, and elusive management.
I don't ever write reviews for locations, but in the case of Exchange LA I have to let people know about how disappointing and abusive my experience was. I went to ExchangeLA with my friends and girlfriend for my birthday thinking it would be great. We got VIP passes, a table, and got seated. The first part of the night was OK but nothing special.
Eventually, when towards the end of the night I got quite drunk so I was helped by security to their "Care" room to be helped into a taxi. My girlfriend, who wasn't that drunk, along with my friend come with and let the paramedic who was there know that she was my GF and would be staying with me. At that point, my GF put my wallet and phone into her bag for safekeeping. After a while in the care room, a bouncer came in and started to act suspicious. He asked to see my ID and when my GF took out my wallet to find my ID, he saw that I had some money inside. At that point, he stopped asking for ID and wanted the wallet to be handed over. My GF, who felt it was very suspicious he suddenly wanted the wallet, didn't want to hand it over so the bouncer started to verbally abuse and even threatened to arrest her. When she still refused, the bouncer tried to restrain her and pin her against the wall before reaching for the wallet. Thankfully, at that point the paramedic (who just stood there and watched for the most part) tried to step in. And once my other friend noticed he grabbed us and put us into a taxi right away.
When I came back to complain the following day, the manager refused to tell us the name of the bouncer and simply said to call management. So I called management and was told that the main manager wasn't in. I told the assistant what happened and she promised me that she would tell the manager and he would call back by the end of the day. At the end of the day, I never received a call so I called them back. She said that she didn't know where he was and I should call back later. Two days later I called again, and she still said she didn't know but would email all the info to the manager and other personnel in management. The following week I didn't hear a response so I called them again and got a different person. She said that she, nor the manager, ever received anything from the first lady so I told her the full story again. Eventually, another week later, I managed to get in contact with the manager who said that he would look into it and get back to me by the end of the week.
I never received a call or message that week and when I called back the following week the assistant said he was busy and would call me back when he was done. This cycle continued until finally the manager gave me a call. Unfortunately I was busy at the time so I told him to email me and I gave him my email. He never did. Eventually I found his email and emailed him once a week but never received an answer. It took almost 2 months to finally get in contact with him and have him give us his analysis. He said that they did nothing wrong and my GF was the one who was fully suspicious so they were just thinking in my best interest. They even claimed that she snuck into the care room and took my phone and wallet from me.
There are much better clubs in Los Angeles. Save yourself the trouble and don't go here. The bouncers don't care for you at all and the management will do whatever they can to avoid taking responsibilities. I never even got the champagne that I paid for.
I like the venue and security seems good. Went for a rock concert. This venue might better off for a night club type music as it feels the live music bounces around way too much (room acoustics). I don't know, maybe its a bad sound engineering or I was standing in a bad spot for the speakers.
One of my favorite nightlife spots in DTLA and a must see for any EDM fan. Been to several shows here as they always attract some of the top DJ talent. It does have a propensity to get packed sometimes if a big name is playing so I would recommend VIP admission on those nights to get balcony access. Speaker system is top notch which is a bass lovers delight. The crowd is always a good mix and good vibes all around.
Good place to get your groove on. I went on a Friday night and the music was great: old school hip hop in one room, old school r&b in another...never made it to the third room because we jammed so hard in the others. The only downfall to me is the smoke. I know it's a club and it's to be expected, but that doesn't mean I have to love it. Nonetheless, I had a great time and can't wait to go back.
I can honestly live at this place. Its full of energy every time I got there. The drinks are awesome , yes a bit pricey but you are at a freaking club; Whats not expensive? Its a huge place, 4 floors to be exact and they all are popping!!!
Came here to exchange my pesos into dollars after Trump got elected. Turns out they don't do that despite the misleading name. Stayed for the music. Would recommend. *Note* Does not accept pesos
The security from front door said my ID is fake and won't let me in even though it is NOT. I showed my passport and other things to proof it is not fake and they finally admit that it is not a fake ID. They never apologize for me standing outside for hours and showed rude attitude , never listen to my words. I almost call the police for this. Really disappointed .
Really had no idea what we were walking into when we visited. Initially bummed about the cover charge, but the bartenders customer service definitely made up for it...she was awesome and made our night! Danced the night away and could see everyone else was having a great time.
BESTTT EDM CLUBBB IN LA! THEY IMPROVED THEIR SOUND SYSTEM THIS YEAR... LIKE MAJOR IMPROVEMENT.... LOVE THIS PLACE. IT IS PERFECT FOR EVERYONE.. INCLUDING DEAF PEOPLE. AND IF YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY?? CLOSE YOUR EYES.. SMILE.. AND STAND NEXT TO THE SPEAKERS... THE VIBRATIONS= ARE COMPLETELY MAGICCCC. YOU'LL THANK ME LATER.
A nice club, the music was good also the drinks. The Service were a little bit unfriendly but understandable, the club was full. The drinks were expensive....But I think its normal in Los Angeles.
Mostly an EDM club these days. It doesn't pick up till at least 12am. The line outside moves really slow and you figure it must be packed inside, but once you enter, it's like half full around 10pm.
One of my favorite clubs in the city fridays they usually bring the best of trance and saturdays they bring techno and other genres of EDM. You'll always have a great time here
Great venue. It does get overcrowded sometimes and the line can be bad but the space is great. A lot of seating area and awesome bookings consistently.
Sound system is on point here. The crowd is not as sceney and pretentious as Hollywood clubs but depends on the DJ performing that night. Typically gets very crowded on upstairs main dance floor and can have long lines to get in. Try to get here around 10-1030 PM before long lines start to form outside. Can print tix at home or show on your phone. Bouncers search and pat down everyone before coming in. Drinks are moderately pricey here.
Came here on a Wed night for Chamber Underground. The space is nice: low lighting, warm, tastefully decorated with mirrors and artisan lights.
We ordered an old fashioned. It was served in a plastic tumbler and was a bit on the sweet side.
Not the best cocktails in the city, but space was lovely and cocktails were priced appropriately for the quality. We'd come back if we were looking for a place to hang out and we're in the area.
One of the largest night clubs in LA. The site of the former LA Stock Exchange. Main room is the old stock exchange trading floor. Historic building, super cool vibe. LOT OF ASIANS, whether that's good or bad is up to you to decide. Great sound system by Funktion-One audio. Expect to pay $13 for a well drink, standard LA music venue / club price.
Thief s.. worse place for a concert.. concert was at 9.. its past midnight and still no artist.. it s basically paying a overprice cover charge but calling it a concert.. it s been 3 hours and still nothing but dj ..don t ever waist ur time or money coming .. the price should be a red flag .. artists don t show up n they just pretend like it s a one time thing while u out ur money
Minus one start for that one time the bartenders refused to make me a drink. It was after I had one AMF so maybe that was why? Maybe they were being cautious in case I could have blacked out there?
Nonetheless, I love the great lineups they've had in the past few months. Been on guest list almost all the time, too. They really have some great, reliable promoters. I love how big the area is. The smoking area can be a little small and awkward, but at times you will find some interesting people to talk to.
sound is so-so crowd is also so-so but artist line up has stayed true to the scene close to a variety of up and coming DTLA neighborhood restaurants and bars for before and after!
I drive from San Diego to get a good show!! Venue is enormous!! and the stage area is big enough for all to see. If you dont feel being floor level there is a little room up stairs between the VIP's! bars at every corner. Awesome! i believe its 18+ but the demographic is wide range and all races!! never disappoints!
This place looks cool, but not really as is. Very pricey and nobody is dancing. Sometimes we go this place with my coworkers but i never enjoyed this place.
I like this club if you are in the mood for a loud sound system experience that reminds you of going to a rave when you were in your early 20s. Once in awhile, one just needs to let loose, so this is a good option.
Great venue for EDM. It has 3 floors: bottom floor with entrance and small room for smaller DJ's (up-and-coming), upper floor which hosts the main stage, floor tables, and the main event, 3rd floor that is reserved for the VIP area tables. Its a fairly clean venue that is laid out nicely. Pretty pricey to enter if you do not know the right people, but you pay for the well-known DJs. Very fun and a nice place to go if you are looking to rage. Every time I have gone, I have not been disappointed.
I'm not forgetting that the two boys are wrapped up. When I first saw the child, I asked my question and called it Ike's back . When I was overwhelmed, I asked why he was going to go over there. He asked me, "I'm Paikrya, and I'm afraid that it's Gyeongbubyeon Jinjin-myeon." Big shori, chin's eye
I came here for a rave - pretty fun! The club didn't get super packed where you felt like you're suffocating (which is nice change for once). I would probably go again if I visited LA and went clubbing. Pretty crowd!
this place had good music and it jt was really nice at first, brought up to the bottle service, line was a bit long even for bottles. Later that night when it started getting crowded, me and my friend who had both a few bottles were getting annoyed by a few kids pushing into our VIP area, after a good 45 mins of this back and forth, the bouncer finally came, and in the end he wad helpful for about 10 mins until he left and never came back. granted we were on the first floor where the music was playing and not on the second floor where is was bottle service entry only, but the fact that I specifically told them the people who were causing trouble and they refused to remove them, keep the space sucure for us, or even keep a bouncer in the area to make sure we had the space we paid for was far beyond disappointing. Will not be coming here again
Venue was presented as an upscale LA nightclub but was t-shirts and hats everywhere. Not what I was expecting or anything like their website had listed under venue policies. Beautiful building and the main stage area was spectacular and sounds great.
WATCH OUT. My wallet and phone got stolen and the security did very little to help out. Please be careful with your belongings once you get into the venue, there's a lot of sketchy people eyeing you down and waiting to strike when you least expect it.
Love the artist that play there, nice interior. Very rude security. Security thought my friend was drunk when she was actually our DD lol. One security guy told us to take a lap but we went to the other line and the other security guy let us in.
The inside of the venue has very interesting architecture design as it used to be the old LA stock exchange building. The visuals are decent, but are the average LED displays and other lights you would expect from any other club, but no special 3D mapping or anything else that would blow you away. The sound quality isn't amazing, but it still sounds pretty good compared to some of the other nightclubs in the area. Drink prices are typical for a LA club.
High prices for chaser splashed with alcohol. Trashy clientele that could make a run for representing everything wrong with society. Packed to the point where minor movements become arduous. My advice, avoid at all costs.
