Very caring staff and very well kept facilities! Highly recommend
While visiting a good friend who's immobile ... The outside is beautiful, with gardens, geese, Fox River, you can tell it's well maintained. Walking in you have a bistro cafe, nice. Beautiful art work to look at, pool, fireplace, places to sit. It's very nice looking.
My friend is in pain, and needs assistance everywhere. When she pushes the nurses button for help she had to wait too long!! Because the nurses are busy with others, especially when you need two nurses for one resident. They are short staffed. In a unit that requires a two person lift you obviously need more help. The consequence of one sitting in their own feces leads to numerous infections. It also adds undo stress & emotional issues for the resident. Being unable to move on your own is terrible, but having to depend on others for your basic needs is a nightmare. Then paying for the service & not receiving the care is heart breaking. When someone is in their beds most of the day, in pain, staring at the beige ceiling, then waiting for help to use the bathroom & it doesn't come. The first outcome of course is soiling yourself, the 2nd is, they try & do it themselves. I'm giving them a 3 because patient care is more important then a beautiful setting.
I live at Evergreen and it is a wonderful place to live. We live in a condo on the grounds, completely independent. We go to the manor for many meals because it is at least a four star restaurant with a huge menu. I am aware of people who have asked to move here but did not have sufficient funds to support themselves. That is a difficult decision but Evergreen is so much more than a nursing home. This is a place where one can retire comfortably and yet be assured of a continuum of care for the rest of their life. That is what attracted us to Evergreen in the first place.
Very poor management built around a careless team of workers. I recommend any future CNA s/nurses to look another direction.
This is my new job!! I love it!!! Bering able to helping people and have awesome co-workers!! You can't go worng getting a job here if u love to take care of others!!
My mother has lived at Evergreen since November of 2014 in the independent living section. She loves her beautiful apartment, the staff and the amenities. She is involved in many of the activities (especially her painting classes and Dinner with the Chef!) and has many great friends. I love that she is so happy and fulfilled.
The Evergreen community took great care of 3 of my grandparents! From the ALF to Memory Care to the SNF, care seems to be great across the board.
This is a top notch facility...all the trimmings...however, I've been with a relative 3 times a week, for several months now and I feel there is insufficient help. They have adequate nursing and rehab staff, but the poor aides are spread thin. Clients have to wait for the attention they need.
