While visiting a good friend who's immobile ... The outside is beautiful, with gardens, geese, Fox River, you can tell it's well maintained. Walking in you have a bistro cafe, nice. Beautiful art work to look at, pool, fireplace, places to sit. It's very nice looking.
My friend is in pain, and needs assistance everywhere. When she pushes the nurses button for help she had to wait too long!! Because the nurses are busy with others, especially when you need two nurses for one resident. They are short staffed. In a unit that requires a two person lift you obviously need more help. The consequence of one sitting in their own feces leads to numerous infections. It also adds undo stress & emotional issues for the resident. Being unable to move on your own is terrible, but having to depend on others for your basic needs is a nightmare. Then paying for the service & not receiving the care is heart breaking. When someone is in their beds most of the day, in pain, staring at the beige ceiling, then waiting for help to use the bathroom & it doesn't come. The first outcome of course is soiling yourself, the 2nd is, they try & do it themselves. I'm giving them a 3 because patient care is more important then a beautiful setting.
