Excellent hospitality and good services. Wifi deplorable! A little far from classified neighborhoods. Breakfast acceptable. Very correct facilities.

Big room, a seafront hotel not far from city centre. Friendly staff.

Good location able to see the ocean and close to the many commercial area, but you may not able to see the ocean soon because there is land fill construction in fronf of the hotel.

The hotel service was very good. The room was big and clean. But I stayed for a week. I don't know if there is a Gift shop underneath. There is no signboard because the Gift shop is behind the car park.

The friendly staff from last year have all left. Cafe Laurel must teach their staff to smile or robots will replace them soon

Although it s an old hotel in Penang , it s well maintain and their breakfast have plenty of local food such as roti canai and mee

Spacious and comfy So far really pleased with overall service. Walking distance to Gurney Drive eateries and malls is a big bonus! Just don't expect a nice sea view anymore due to the beach expansion tho...

People here are very friendly. During peak season is better to mention non-smoking room when booking. Got smoking floor due to high occupancy rate and they are not able to accomodate non-smoking room. 20 minutes walk to Gurney Plaza. There are nearby restaurants and kopitiam. 15 minutes walk to Pulau Tikus market and hawker centre - good for breakfast.

The foods now got improvement on taste, still not so much of variety but salmons and tuna is fresh, overall OK

Really nice hotel. Comfortable stay. Alot of amenities. Swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam, fully equipped gym.

Breakfast is rich and varied. Invincible sea view, close to the sea. The room is very large and very comfortable. There is a safe. The service is very good. You can leave your luggage. Have a preference for playing in Penang. It will not be regrettable to bring your elders to live.

A clean, fragrance, free high speed wifi hotel which inclusive of mini bar drink. Convenience to gurney drive beach and lot of foods around.

Food is inconsistent based on theme. Sometimes pales in comparison to other hotels, sometimes excellent. WiFi is fast. The General Manager is nice. I've been into the underground area where staffs work and overall, they're nice and the way they do their job is splendid. Worth a stay here. P.S. I love their seafood.

Fantastic location, quite nearby the two malls and the oldtown and despite the ongoing construction over the opposite stretch of beach. The room was great, and one of the bellhops, a local Malay man was very pleasant in providing us his service.

One of my most visited hotels, as the buffet here is above average and the food is worth the price. The toilet here is A++ as it is clean and stylish as well. The staffs here are quite friendly and are always ready to be of an assistance. The hotel has a bistro as well as a gift shop. So far one of the best hotels in Penang.

Chair-wobbly; could be unsafe; internet-slow at times; socket for charging : extended board provided but you have to claw underneath the table to access; pillows: old and v old; beds: hard; towels supplied cut down for reasons best known to the owner; service v slow and poor: newspaper-have to demand understandable;

# This iconic Gurney drive hotel has certainly lost its charm and sea view all because of the current land reclaiming in front of its hotel. The once majestic sea view is now a piece of barren sand desert. Rooms are still clean but the premium price you have to pay is certainly not worth it with the lost view. A bit disappointing and can give this a skip.

rooms are spacious and clean. the service is quite good and fast. TV channels are lacking. quite cheap prices for 5 star hotels. complete facilities. even though the hotel still feels a bit old. but ok.

Stayed for business purposes but with our entire family. Very well kept, had all my kids would want, and location is fantastic. We walked everywhere and when Grabcab was needed, it was well known.

I've been here several time. During holidays booking will have problem. So book early. No problem in parking.
